She Becomes A Hot Sensation After A Scandalous Affair -
Chapter 189
Chapter 189: Chapter 189
"He’s also stupid! Gosh, I can’t wait to see his stupid ass crying his heart out in front of you, begging you to take over the company that he’s screwed up!" Angel said happily, not even trying to hide her true nature.
Theodore frowned. He knew Lance was reckless, but he also knew damn well that Lance was probably the smartest out of the brothers.
He was academically gifted, even better than Theodore. But he had such a short attention span and was generally lazy, so he didn’t try to study harder.
"Are you sure you paid attention to him when he was young? Because he was the smartest out of us all," Theodore said while he glanced at Angel.
Angel thought that Theo was trying to cover up for his little brother again.
After all, this man was a total pushover, an idiot who didn’t take the chance to completely rule over his billionaire family.
If Angel were in his shoes, she’d definitely take over everything and stand on top, and her family could suck it up or get kicked out.
Unfortunately, it was nothing but a fantasy for her.
In reality, she needed to ensure that Theodore was always under her control, or else she could get kicked out because nobody in the Grant family liked her except for Theodore.
As she leaned and tried to massage his shoulder from behind, she whispered, "He’s not smarter than you. You’re the best, Theo."
"No," Theodore denied. "Lance is the smartest and the bravest out of the siblings. Are you really sure that you paid attention to him? Or is this just you trying to talk me into doing something?"
Angel’s body stiffened at his words.
She sighed and replied, "I want you to acquire Empress Entertainment quickly. I care so much about the Grant family’s legacy and don’t want him to ruin everything."
"Mm, I guess it’s time to find him. It’s been a week since that scandal between him and Madeline Rose broke out," Theodore said. He grabbed his phone and checked the stock market, and as he expected, Empress Entertainment’s stock had plummeted and was predicted to decline even more a week from now when the first episode of Psycho Moth was released.
Honestly, Theodore felt a bit bad for his little brother.
He wanted the best for Lance since he knew Lance had the talent.
But he was reckless and didn’t seem to have any sense of responsibility for what was given to him. If he allowed Lance to take over half of the family business, then everything would be destroyed, and Theodore could only lower his head in shame, knowing that he allowed his little brother to ruin everything to the ground.
"Alright, it’s time to meet him," Theodore said, rising from his seat. He pocketed his wallet, phone, and nothing else because he knew all he needed to do was to hear Lance give up everything, and his secretary would do the rest of the administrative work.
He walked to the door, but Angel quickly caught up to him and hugged his arm. "Theo, don’t leave me!"
"You might not want to go this time, Angel," Theodore said coldly as he braced himself for a confrontation with his little brother.
"Why not? I want to see him. Maybe I can comfort him after his total failure," Angel retorted. Though, the real reason was because she wanted to see that little shit’s crying face.
Lance fought openly against her, constantly berating her and calling her names, even in public. He had no filter, and Angel couldn’t wait to see him get destroyed.
"He doesn’t like you, and he will hurt you if he gets agitated once you confront him," Theodore explained. "I don’t want you to get hurt."
"Ah, you’re right! H—He might lash out at me when he’s angry," Angel said while squeezing tears at the corner of her eyes. "I don’t want to get beaten to death by that brute."
Theodore’s gaze darkened, and he reprimanded her immediately, "Why are you always overreacting? Lance might be a brute and reckless. But he’s not the type who’d beat up a woman, let alone his big brother’s fiancee. You shouldn’t slander him like that."
Angel’s lips thinned.
Though she still acted sad, she was fuming in her heart because she realized that Theodore had been defending Lance these days.
With every slander and mockery Angel hurled towards Lance, Theodore would step up to defend him, putting Angel in an awkward position instead.
Of course, Angel couldn’t just fight back and reprimand Theodore for defending the wrong person because it seemed her control over him was weakening.
After the last meeting with Lance, Theodore considered giving Lance leniency and showed eagerness to support his little brother.
’Good thing that stupid little shit finally showed his true nature. He has always been the worst. The most reckless and stupid, he won’t be able to keep his job for long,’ Angel thought.
"Sorry, I was just worried," Angel said. She tightened her hug on his arm and insisted, "But I still want to meet him. I want to make sure that he is okay. After all, he has been adamant about fighting against you. Who knows what kind of mental breakdown he might go through after this?"
Theodore went momentarily silent and then finally nodded. "But don’t agitate him. Even if he hurls insults at you, you need to calm down, okay? He’s still my little brother. I don’t want him to dwell in sadness for too long."
"Yes, I understand," Angel said.
She followed Theodore from behind and lowered her head as they entered the car.
No, she wasn’t sad at Lance, who most likely had a real mental breakdown right now.
Angel was grinning, secretly rejoicing that she would finally get everything. As long as Theodore acquired Empress Entertainment, nobody else could stop him from ruling over Grant’s family businesses and fortunes.
’And once we get married, I will be Mrs. Grant, the richest woman on earth, and there is nothing to stop me.’
