Everyone was initially cynical, thinking that it was nothing but a publicity stunt to boost their reality show together, Summer Heat Lovers, and the upcoming thriller TV show, Psycho Moth.

Lance parked his car in front of the valet as they entered a huge mall crowded with people celebrating Christmas. He looked at Madeline and assured her again, "Everything will be just fine, I promise."

"I know." Madeline swallowed her fear and nervousness and smiled back at Lance. "I trust you. I trust us. Let’s do this."

Madeline and Lance walked out of the car. Lance told the valet to park the car as they walked into the mall while holding hands like a pair of lovers.

Madeline made sure she put her dolly makeup in the car so everyone would recognize her instantly. She also didn’t try to cover her face or hair.

The sole intention of going to this crowded mall was to show everyone that she—Madeline Rose—dated another man who was better than Zane in any way possible and to announce that she didn’t shy away from telling the world about her real boyfriend.

Madeline kept up her devil-may-care persona as she walked with Lance.

She flaunted herself like a beautiful swan, giggling and playfully hitting Lance’s arm or chest as they paraded through the mall.

"Everyone’s eyes are on us, babe," Lance said with a smile. Though he didn’t show it much, he was brimming with joy and pride.

The intention was to parade HIM as Madeline’s boyfriend. But in Lance’s mind, he was the one who announced to the world that he had the most gorgeous girlfriend in the world.

Madeline’s cheeks reddened. She clenched Lance’s arm and said in a low voice, "Do you hate it?"

"No, why would I?" Lance chuckled. "I’m enjoying this. Finally, we can announce our relationship to the public after so long."

Madeline saw everyone recording their sweet moments together, so she doubled it down by pointing at the display in front of a Cartier store.

"Babe, look at that Cartier watch. Can I get that?" Madeline asked playfully like a spoiled girl. "Oh, I also want that necklace, bracelet, and earrings! They all look so gorgs!"

Obviously, Lance knew that Madeline was just acting. He had been so busy these days because he had to prepare everything before Christmas, so he had no time to buy a gift for Madeline.

Thus, he asked her if she wanted something as a gift, and she said no because she didn’t find material things appealing when it came to certain excess.

He could’ve just said that they had another gift at home. But he wanted to spoil Madeline to the moon and back. So he dragged her into the store and said, "Pick all the things you want. I will buy them for you."

"Oh?" Madeline was genuinely surprised because it was just an act to pull everyone’s attention to them, making sure that they recorded everything. "You already bought me a new car yesterday. Are you sure?"

"Of course, my money is yours. Your shopping budget is unlimited," Lance stated confidently.

Madeline had to find the middle ground. Even if she knew that Lance was filthy rich, she didn’t want to buy something meaningless.

Thus, she picked a few pieces of jewelry and a watch from Cartier and then walked out of the store with the bodyguards carrying her shopping bags.

Thus, the buzz around Zane’s announcement quickly fizzled out as attention shifted to Madeline’s real boyfriend being photographed, complete with their blatant public display of affection in a crowded mall.

Lance’s smile deepened. "How about Zane’s announcement? Did it get buried?"

"Not really. The trending topics are fighting against each other right now. I also see that many of Zane’s fans said they’re going to boycott the upcoming TV show," Madeline said lightly as if a boycott wasn’t something to be scared of. "Your company will lose a lot of money, Mr. Grant."

"Great, that’s what I want," Lance nodded. "I’ll hold an emergency meeting in two days since I predict the company’s stock will plummet immediately. So I can convince those shareholders to sell their shares to me."

"All according to plan, Mr. Grant," Madeline smirked as she knew she would soon be free from Zane’s shackles.
