She Becomes A Hot Sensation After A Scandalous Affair -
Chapter 162
Chapter 162: Chapter 162
Angel manipulated Theodore into thinking that he needed a wife who was as capable and smart as their mother, who was fighting cancer right now.
But their mother was an absolutely gorgeous woman, even in her twilight years. She was still genuinely the most beautiful woman Lance had ever seen in real life until he saw Madeline Rose.
Meanwhile, that bitch Angel was aging like expired milk, and she wasn’t as capable and smart as their mother.
So there was absolutely no reason for Theodore to get head over heels for her unless he had been brainwashed and groomed since his adolescent years.
"Besides, you should be happy that Dad is paying more attention to you nowadays, right?" George reasoned. "I mean, he has been crippled by heartbreak for so long. To see him begin doing something other than being sad is an improvement."
"You’re right, I guess..." Lance sighed. "I’m just worried that Dad only sees Madeline from what’s portrayed outside because she’s popular for all the wrong reasons. So he wants to kick her out of my life."
"Oh? Aren’t you the one who proposed the idea of riding on Madeline’s infamy to threaten Theodore? Have you changed your mind?" George grinned as he already knew the answer. But it was fun to tease his second brother.
Lance groaned. "I changed my mind. I can’t do that to her."
"Why?" George asked.
"Because I realized I’ve fallen in love with her," Lance replied firmly. He had no hesitation or doubt about it.
"Are you sure it’s real love? I mean, you fucked so many women in the past. I don’t know if you can genuinely love someone. Do you remember how many women got their hearts broken because of you? What makes you think you won’t do the same with Madeline Rose?"
"Why are you so hung up about this?" Lance clicked his tongue. "I know what’s in my heart, George. I fell in love with her."
"Because of her beauty? Her talent? Her wittiness? Or her body?"
George had a lot of questions for Lance because, deep down, he wanted to make sure that Lance wouldn’t hurt Madeline.
After having a conversation with Madeline, he realized that she was the type who’d ride or die.
Though George had no plan to fight over a woman with his brother, he felt uncomfortable thinking that Madeline Rose would cry over Lance because she had been betrayed and cheated on.
So, he wanted to ensure that Lance wouldn’t be the source of pain for Madeline.
"I... don’t know, probably all of them," Lance sighed. "Look, Maddy is absolutely gorgeous, but there are other gorgeous women in Hollywood. I’m just mysteriously attracted to her."
"Does your heart hurt seeing her kissing another man on screen?"
"Yes."
"Then I got my answer." George shrugged. "Just wanting to ensure you’re not bewitched only because of her beauty."
"Trust me, I’d leave her after our first night if my attraction was only skin deep," Lance said as he got up and grabbed his briefcase. "I’m going now. I don’t want to miss my first dinner with Madeline and his brother. Like a family."
"Hey, I’m also a family. Can I come?" George asked.
"Only when I’m in the mood to invite you." Lance gave him a side glance and said, "Do you need me to call Cedric? You can eat in his restaurant."
"Geez, so harsh." George chuckled. "Alright, have fun playing house with Madeline."
"Mm."
George watched Lance leave the CEO’s office.
He could’ve left anytime he wanted since he had the spare key. But he decided to stay for a while because if he could tell the truth, he would be a little hurt when Lance simply rejected his request.
It had been a while since they had dinner as a family.
After their mother’s health deteriorated and their father left heartbroken, the family was never the same, with Theodore and Lance fighting over their position and leaving the two youngest—George and Lily—to do their own thing.
"So what’s wrong with wanting to feel like I have a family again? It’s been years since the last time I felt like I had a real family," George said, ruffling his hair.
But he knew there was nothing he could do.
His siblings would eventually find their own family, and his parents wouldn’t stay in this world forever.
’So in the end, I have to find a woman to love,’ George tried to imagine the kind of woman he’d love. ’Beautiful, witty, great body, and loyal... wait, I just described Madeline Rose again.’
George sighed, knowing it’d take a while for him to kill this attraction.
"Lance, you’re so damn lucky."
**
This was the first time he was excited to return to that mansion.
He purchased the mansion because he thought he’d be happy to have his own house. But after realizing how big and empty it was, he decided to just live in a penthouse.
However, now that he finally had Madeline and her brother, he knew that the mansion would be lively once more with this newfound family he had.
"Drive faster. I can’t miss my first dinner with my family," he told the driver.
As the car finally stopped in front of the main door, he walked into the foyer and saw Madeline’s stuff decorating the empty walls and shelves all around the mansion.
Thus, it felt more like a home than an empty, fancy building.
"Welcome home, babe," Madeline said as she drew near him.
She gave him a quick kiss on the lips and said, "I’ve decorated the mansion with my stuff, including mine, my brother’s, and my mother’s pictures here and there. But something is missing."
"What’s missing?" Lance asked. He wanted Madeline to feel like this was her true home. So she would never leave him.
Madeline playfully pulled Lance’s tie and pointed at the empty spot on top of the grand piano. "I saved that spot for our family picture. That will be for us when we get married."
"And that one—" Madeline said while pointing at another spot. "—will be for our babies."
