Zane hung up the call after he got what he wanted.

He checked the trending topic on social media with his second phone, and his lips thinned as he was angry at reading those scathing comments about Maddy.

"These braindead people. It’s obvious that Maddy becomes the center of attention in Summer Heat Lovers because she is just effortlessly charming," Zane muttered as he kept reading those hate comments.

But he didn’t want to do anything until Madeline asked him to.

After that call a month ago, Madeline didn’t call him anymore.

Zane knew that Madeline was just doing what he wanted her to do: only call him when she was in a dire situation.

But that dire situation never came up, and Zane was too bitter and proud to call Madeline and say he was missing her a lot.

"Why not?" Lance’s brows scrunched. "Don’t tell me you actually pity them. Maddy, they are our enemies. We must ensure they won’t dare to do something like this anymore."

"I have another idea," Madeline said. "I can handle them myself."

"And what are you going to do?" Lance asked. "Maddy, I know I want you to be infamous, but this... this is too fucking much!"

"It will involve Jasmin and Zane," Madeline said.

"Zane?! That fucking scum can help you more than I can!?" That name was like a curse word for Lance. He hated the idea of Zane coming into Madeline’s life again.
