She Becomes A Hot Sensation After A Scandalous Affair -
Chapter 115
Chapter 115: Chapter 115
Ada almost choked off the burger. "M—Madeline, he genuinely favors you. I know Mr. Grant isn’t the type to show too much affection. But I’ve never seen him so attentive and doting to his girlfriend before."
Madeline stared at Ada, who seemed to believe her own words, which made her scoff in ridicule because it only made her want to disclose the contract even more.
Ada clearly didn’t know Lance had no bottom line when it came to business profit.
"Well, I can’t blame you for not knowing," Madeline said. "You said that you’ve been working for him for a while. Your view about him must be biased."
Ada said nothing, knowing that Madeline was just trying to vent her frustration. But she didn’t understand why Madeline reacted so badly.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a responsible man who would give her everything she wanted?
Madeline stared at Ada, and she scoffed as she could easily read what was on Ada’s mind. "I know what you’re thinking, Ada. You think that I’m ungrateful and needy because Lance didn’t pay enough attention to me."
"I—I didn’t say that..."
"It’s okay. I also think like that," Madeline said. She stuffed the half-eaten burger inside the paper bag. Thinking about Lance for too long made her lose her appetite. "Why, oh why, I wonder about my feelings..."
"Madeline, you told me before that you’re ready if he dumps you," Ada reminded her. "Do you still think the same way?"
"No, of course not," Madeline denied. Sighing, she continued, "I was just putting up a tough, bad bitch persona in front of you. But I’m probably going to cry for days if he truly dumped me."
"Then I guess that’s why you are upset," Ada concluded. "You’re upset because he doesn’t give you enough attention to assure you."
Madeline went quiet for a moment before nodding. "Yeah, you’re right, Ada. I want to believe that he will not do me dirty, like what Jon did to me. But his actions speak otherwise."
"I feel like I’m going to be dumped eventually, right after he squeezed every last bit of my usefulness," Madeline said deprecatingly. "I told myself that it’s okay, and I will live, and I will also squeeze his wallet dry. But I guess I’m still a normal girl in love..."
...
...
There was nothing but silence between them after Madeline released all of her frustration and disappointment.
But this silence was preferable for Madeline, because the last thing she wanted right now was a pat on the back from someone who didn’t understand her feelings.
Madeline simply ate her McFlurry and told Ada to drive her back home.

Madeline thanked Ada before she opened the car door and left.
Her mood had been ruined today, and she wanted nothing but a rest.
She used the key to unlock the door but then realized it was already unlocked, much to her confusion.
Madeline checked her watch and murmured, "Nathan told me he had basketball practice today. Did something happen to him?"
Click.
She opened the door and saw Nathan watching Summer Heat Lovers in the living room.
He turned his head and smiled at his sister. "You did great in this first episode, Sis. Your acting with Zane Eastwood is almost too real."
Madeline frowned. "You told me you had basketball practice today."
"Yeah, it got canceled," Nathan replied. "Why didn’t you tell me that you had a guest today? Good thing I was at home by the time she arrived."
"A guest?" Madeline was confused. "What guest?"
"Huh? She told me she already told you." Nathan shrugged. "Anyway, she’s in your room."
Madeline didn’t know if Nathan was joking or not. But he shouldn’t be so lenient, so this guest must be someone he knew or was familiar with.
Thus, Madeline went upstairs to her room and opened the door.
"GIRL!" Madeline was caught off guard when she was suddenly hugged—no, squeezed, like a lemon—by someone with strong arms, and she quickly identified the hugger’s identity.
"Urk! J—Jasmin, l—let me go. You’re choking me!"
"Oh, sorry." Jasmin let her go, and Madeline coughed as she was trying to catch her breath. "Sorry, Maddy, I was just too excited to meet you again."
"No, no, it’s fine." Madeline hugged Jasmin back and asked, "Why didn’t you tell me you’re coming? I would’ve thrown a small party for us."
"Oh, don’t bother. I came here to surprise you," Jasmin giggled. "Thankfully, your cute little brother is more than willing to let me inside your room."
"Don’t let him hear that. He hates getting called cute," Madeline giggled. "But it’s only been two weeks since the show ended. I thought they would give you one full-month trip across Southeast Asia with Russel as part of the price."
"Oh, speaking of which," Madeline looked around the room and asked, "Where is Russel? He should be tailing you around like a good little duckling."
"I—I’m here," Russel popped out from the bathroom and walked to them. "Sorry, Madeline, I was using your bathroom. I wanted to use the one outside, but Jasmin didn’t allow me because it’d ruin the surprise."
"Why can’t you hold your pee for a moment?"
"That moment is three hours. I might pee myself at that point," Russel protested weakly.
Jasmin chuckled. "Sorry about that, girl. Don’t worry, I’ve warned him to clean the toilet after using it. I know you’re extra sensitive about cleanliness."
Madeline saw that Russel meekly held Jasmin’s hand, much to her relief.
Jasmin had such a strong persona, so she thought she’d get sick of Russel’s meek nature after the show ended.
But it seemed that they were a good fit.
However, Madeline and Zane weren’t so lucky. They lost contact right after that final day, when Lance punched Zane in the set.
However, Madeline didn’t want to show her sadness in front of her friends. She quickly shifted the topic: "Then how about we go downstairs and order pizza? I’m sure you two are starving, right? I want to catch up, especially since you ended the vacation only after two weeks."
