She Becomes A Hot Sensation After A Scandalous Affair -
Chapter 114
Chapter 114: Chapter 114
This was the third time they had a similar fight, and it always ended up with Theodore hesitating to hurt Lance.
Angel rolled her eyes when Theodore wasn’t looking. ’I should’ve known this idiot wouldn’t be able to kill that bastard, Lance.’
Unfortunately, she could not kill Lance because he was still a Grant family member. He had his personal bodyguards around.
So, all she could do was rely on Theodore, manipulating him to do her bidding.
"Are you not going to punish him, honey?" Angel asked while resting on Theo’s arm. She held his hand, gently playing with his fingers. "I mean, I also don’t want him to get hurt. But there is no other way. You need to eliminate him as soon as possible."
...
Theo gave her no response, which infuriated her so much.
But she maintained her pure appearance and pressured him further: "At this point, it could be a kill or be killed situation..."
"Kill or be killed?" Theodore frowned. "No, Lance might be rebellious and stubborn. But I know him. He won’t hurt his family members."
"He might do that if he’s desperate..."
"No," Theo denied firmly. He looked serious as he rejected that plausibility. "I know my brother very well, and you know him too, Angel."
"O—Of course, I know him. I was his nanny, too," Angelica said. She didn’t want Theo to suspect that she had an ulterior motive. So she snuggled into his embrace and added, "I—I’m just scared, Theo. I’m scared that he will try to hurt me while you’re not around. I practically raised him as his nanny, and I know things that you don’t know, including how vile Lance could be."
Theodore tightly held her hand to assure her, "I will always protect you. I promise."
"But how about Lance...?"
"...I will deal with him," Theo said. "I can’t hurt my own little brother. But I will find a way to teach him a lesson so he can stop struggling."
"Okay then, I trust you, honey..." Angel murmured. "Remember, you are supposed to control everything in the Grant family. It’s your birthright, not Lance’s or anybody else."
"Mm... I guess so..." Theo nodded.
’What a fucking idiot! You won’t be able to stop Lance unless you kill that bastard,’ Angel cursed in her heart. ’I picked you because you’re the firstborn, the heir. Why are you so weak-hearted just because he’s your sibling? You’re part of an old nobility. Killing your siblings for power is supposed to be part of the tradition!’
Angel had a lot to say behind his back. But for now, she would play by Theo’s rules.
She just needed to wait for an opening to end that bastard Lancelot Grant. So Theodore would have no contest over everything that the Grant family has.
’And I... will be his queen,’ Angel thought deviously. ’The only queen in the Grant family.’

Ada checked on her boss from the rearview mirror a few times. She was worried because Madeline said nothing, but kept wiping the tears that escaped from the corner of her eyes.
Once they stopped at a red light, she finally asked, "Miss, are you okay?"
"I’m perfectly okay," Madeline replied. "I just don’t know how to process my feelings right now."
"Then do you want to go somewhere to calm yourself first? Maybe to Rodeo Drive to shop?"
"No, I’m not really into a nonsensical shopping spree. I only did that for public image," Madeline replied. She stared at the window and saw McDonald’s. Thus, she asked, "Let’s just get ourselves McFlurry ice creams and burgers, Ada."
It was rare to see an ultra-expensive Rolls Royce queuing at McDonald’s drive-thru. But Madeline didn’t care about it. The car was tinted, so nobody would be able to see that Madeline was sobbing inside.
Madeline told Ada to order two cups of McFlurry and burgers for them, then told her to park in the parking lot.
"You should eat it with me, Ada," Madeline said as she handed Ada one cup of ice cream, soda, and a burger.
"I don’t think I should be eating while at work, Miss," Ada refused.
"You’re eating this not as my driver or bodyguard but as a friend," Madeline smiled. "It’s okay. You won’t get scolded just because you ate a burger."
"I—If you say so, I’m honored, Miss," Ada said, while accepting the burger from Madeline.
"Call me Madeline. It’s fine when nobody’s around us," Madeline said.
She took a bite of the stale burger, which tasted like cardboard. But it was comforting because she often ate this for the past four years when she had been short on cash.
"This burger tastes like cardboard," Ada commented. "If you’re craving a burger, I can take you to the restaurant that serves it right. It’s not far from here."
"No, I want to eat this stale burger because it reminds me of my life before meeting Lance," Madeline refused. "I... I want to tell myself that I should know my place. Maybe I’ve been wishing for too much."
"I don’t follow you, Madeline. Why should you know your place?" Ada asked. "You’re a celebrity."
"Broke celebrity. Before Lance, at least," Madeline chuckled as she took another bite. She was thinking about telling Ada everything, including her contract with Lance. But she couldn’t trust her enough, at least not to that point yet.
Thus, after a quick consideration, she said, "Lance prioritized his work over me, and I feel... betrayed—though maybe disappointed is the better word for it."
"Oh, I heard he has been extremely busy for the past month. Don’t worry," Ada assured, but that only infuriated Madeline.
"No, that’s not what I meant," Madeline said. "I told you before, there’s no guarantee he will continue liking me for long. And, well, he gave me the answer just now."
"Answer?"
"Yes, he chased profit over everything, including me. He basically sacrificed me in the Summer Heat Lovers just so he could get an instant profit from his investment."
Madeline scoffed as she mocked her selfish idea of love: "Ada, that man doesn’t love me. I’m just a business tool for him."
