"You call this stupid, huh?" Lance scoffed. "Tell me, who’s the stupid one here, a man who is trying to break free from his crazed brother, or the said brother who goes absolutely nuts and power-hungry for no reason after her mother fell ill for years because of cancer?"

"Lance, you know Theo doesn’t mean that," Angel said while gently caressing his shoulder. "He is your brother and wants the best for you."

"Stop caressing my shoulder, you disgusting cougar." Lance brushed her hand off and got up from his chair. "And Theo is also an idiot because his nanny groomed him!"

Angel smiled when she heard that. She sighed and stepped back to distance herself. "Maybe it’s because I didn’t give you proper care when you were young, so you became hostile. You’re jealous because I’m engaged with Theodore, right?"

"What the actual fuck?! Why would I be jealous to marry a woman with sagging tits like you?!" Lance yelled. "Theodore is just too stupid to realize he has been groomed and used by you!"

Angel suddenly switched her expression to that of a hurt maiden. She walked towards Theodore and threw herself into his embrace.

Theodore was distressed to see his fiancee wiping her tears. He glared at his little brother with full hostility.

"Why are you glaring at me like that? What I said is real." Lance’s tone was sharp, each word deliberate. "You’re an idiot who got groomed by a nanny twenty years older than you," Lance dropped the brutal truth, driving his point home like a nail into a coffin.

"I will fucking destroy this company, Lance," Theo said with a low, almost whispering, vengeful voice. "You hurt my fiance."

"No, don’t do this to your brother, Theo!" Angel tried to interrupt, but she hugged him even tighter than before. "I told you we’re here to mend your relationship with Lance, right?"

"There’s nothing to fix. That bastard is beyond saving. He doesn’t even respect his older brother anymore," Theo stated.

"This is all my fault," Angel said while sobbing. "I didn’t know that Lance could be this jealous of me. I should’ve paid him more attention when he was just a kid."

"What a load of bullshit!" Lance scoffed. "I’m glad that you didn’t target me. I don’t want to be groomed by a grandma like you."

"LANCELOT!"

"WHAT?!" Lance yelled back at Theo. "What are you going to do now? Are you trying to ruin my life again by convincing my shareholders? Guess what? That reality show featuring Madeline Rose will be the most popular reality show for years to come. I’ve proven myself that I’m a capable CEO. So, you have no fucking power over me, Theo."

Theodore’s lips thinned.

"This is not over, Lance. I’ve given you a lot of chances to give me respect and full authority over our family businesses, yet you wasted it all. You stubborn prick," Theodore said. "Just wait and see."

"Yeah, whatever. You can leave now with that sagging grandma."

Lance watched as his big brother left with his groomer fiancee. Theo slammed the door shut, leaving Lance in a trance as he realized that Theo would give him hell for this.

But he couldn’t hide his disgust towards Angel. Everything was obvious from the get-go, but the only one who didn’t notice Angel’s suspicious behavior was Theodore himself.

Now he listened to no one but that sagging bitch.

"Ugh, why’s everything a mess?" Lance said as he sat back in his chair, ruffling his hair frustratedly.

This kind of pressure from his family, especially his brother, wasn’t new to him. Lance would usually conduct himself by giving some sarcasm and dark jokes, but never to the point of showing anger.

But Theo’s antics caused a rift between him and Madeline, the only woman who could calm him down.

So he simply exploded.

Lance gritted his teeth as he tried to suppress this unanswered frustration in his heart.

He wanted Madeline.

At least he wanted to see her despite their rift just now.

’Madeline Rose, why are you not here when I need you the most?’

That sentence lingered in his head for a while, ridiculing him for his inability to protect Maddy, despite his promise to always protect her.

Lance blamed himself as the stress, grief, and desperation seeped into his mind.

’Why is it so hard when I finally have a woman I truly like?’

Meanwhile, Theodore and Angelica went down to the lobby and told his chauffeur to drive out of Empress Entertainment’s office.

Theo was busy trying to coax his fiancee and said, "Don’t cry, honey. You know that Lance is a scum. He hurts people around him, especially a good woman like you."

"I know," Angelica sobbed. "I know he is a terrible man. I just thought that he could be saved somehow. He’s your brother, after all."

Angelica wiped her tears with tissues and then asked, "So, are you going to crush him now? You threatened him in the office before..."

"That, I..." Theodore hesitated. "I... don’t think I can do that."

"Why not? You’ve seen it yourself, right? He’s cruel, unreasonable, and disrespectful!" Angel insisted.

"But he is still my brother. I don’t want to hurt them..." Theodore said.

No matter how angry he was at Lance. In his eyes, Lance was just his misguided, rebellious little brother. He wanted the best for Lance, so he tried to kick him out of the family business before he made a fool out of himself.

He was furious at Lance for disrespecting Angel, but he was also sad because he had to quarrel with his dearest little brother over a family conflict.

Theodore lowered his head, as he was also conflicted about his own decision. He wanted to teach Lance a lesson, but he didn’t want to completely destroy his little brother’s spirit because his parents had always taught him to protect all of his younger siblings.

’How do I make him understand I can control the family’s businesses alone? It’s much more efficient that way. He should’ve just let me handle everything,’ Theodore wondered.

Meanwhile, Angel stopped sobbing when she realized that Theodore’s resolution to ruin Lance’s life had begun to weaken yet again.
