Chapter 112: Chapter 112

Theo scoffed. "That boy is a waste. He’s not as good as me. I’ve been wanting to kick him out of the family businesses."

Angel had a mysterious smirk, but she quickly buried her face in Theo’s arm to hide her smirk. "Don’t be so cruel to him. Lance is a good kid."

"You’re too kind to him," Theo said. "He’s been nothing but a leech to the family and will continue to be so."

"Well, yes, he’s a leech that can’t do anything," Angel said, supporting Theo’s accusation. "But he’s still your brother. At least try to be less harsh on your words, okay?"

Angel put her on Theo’s chest to calm him. "Remember, you’re the best, but you can’t be too harsh on your brothers. Just because you’re a giant doesn’t mean you should crush those worms beneath you."

...

Theo took a deep breath.

His fiancé was right.

He couldn’t be rash because Lance did not take harsh words kindly, unlike George, who would simply zip his lips and accept whatever order Theo gave him like a good little brother.

Ding!

The elevator door slid open, and they headed towards the door where a middle-aged secretary blocked the path. "Pardon me, Sir, Ma’am. Mr. Lancelot Grant told me specifically not to accept any guests for now."

Theo lifted his chin arrogantly and said, "I am his big brother. Besides, I hold a higher position than him; I can fire him if he doesn’t let me in."

"B—But—"Deborah was conflicted. After Madeline left the office, she came in to check on her boss. She saw Mr. Grant looking so depressed.

She didn’t know what kind of quarrel ensued between Madeline and Lance, but it was not a good time to meet with Lance right now because he might snap.

"Step aside, or I will force him to fire you as well," Theo said arrogantly, and thus, Deborah was forced to step aside and allow them to enter the CEO’s office.

Lance was in a terrible, depressive mood after Madeline left.

He felt empty, guilty, and weak.

He already planned to tell Madeline he wanted her as his real girlfriend.

He also intended to cut off half of the content in the Summer Heat Lovers episode so as to hint at the romance between Zane and Madeline rather than exposing everything to the masses.

He didn’t care if that meant he’d lose a lot of money by doing it since Madeline and Zane’s romance was the key to the reality show.

Then he would start anew.

He’d give Madeline a suitable serial or movie that could boost her notoriety, but not in a cheap, scandalous affair like what happened between her and Jonathan Hale.

He had everything better planned for Madeline.

Only for it to crumble to pieces when his big brother, Theodore, gave him an ultimatum a week ago...

The door slammed open suddenly, so Lance lifted his head spontaneously.

His gaze darkened when Theodore and his fiancee, Angelica, walked into his office uninvited.

"What are you two doing here?" Lance asked curtly.

He was already pissed by the fact that Theodore’s ultimatum ruined his plan to fix his mistake with Madeline. So their presence here was like rubbing salt on an open wound.

"Is that how you greet your big brother?" Theodore reprimanded him instantly. He disliked how Lance didn’t have an ounce of respect for him, the big brother who kept the family in motion while their father was paralyzed by heartbreak.

"There is no way I can be civil towards you when you give me that kind of ridiculous ultimatum, Theodore," Lance said. "You put me in a difficult spot, and you should be grateful that I didn’t call the security to kick you out."

"Security? Hahah!" Theodore laughed as he mocked Lance’s threat. He sat on the sofa while his fiancee, Angel, looked around the CEO’s office. "I own this place, Lancelot Grant. You can’t control me."

"Empress Entertainment is under my name," Lance spouted the cold, hard truth. "Just because you’re trying to swallow the company doesn’t mean it’s yours already."

Theodore sneered, "Besides, you should be grateful I gave you that ultimatum. I just watched the first episode of that reality show. It seems you heeded my warning and finally improved the company, huh? That first episode featuring Zane Eastwood and Madeline Rose will break the record."

"Your ultimatum is fucking bullshit!" Lance raised his voice.

Theodore had successfully convinced more than half of Empress Entertainment’s shareholders to acquire the company from Silver Line Inc.

Theo wanted to own this company completely, then fire Lance to do a menial job as a washed-up noble in the United Kingdom, turning Lance into a useless man who would attend useless gatherings.

Thus, since more than half were against Lance, Theodore gave him an ultimatum. If Lance’s next project turned out to be a complete waste of money, Theodore would acquire Empress Entertainment.

Thus, Lance was forced to take drastic measures to approve Valerie’s first episode, as long as it would bring enough profit and virality to increase the shareholders’ trust in him.

And, of course, with Madeline Rose as the sacrificial lamb.

"Don’t raise your voice against your brother, Lance." Angel approached Lance behind the desk and put her hand on his shoulder. "You’re better than this, right?"

Lance glared at his brother’s fiancee and said, "Get your hand off my shoulder, you fucking cougar."

"LANCELOT!" Theodore raised his voice as he snapped at his little brother. "Don’t you fucking dare to call her a cougar!"

"What should I call her then? Womb-snatcher? Cradle-robber? She’s dating someone twenty years younger than her!" Lance pointed out the obvious with disgust.

"So what? We started dating when we were already of age!" Theodore yelled back.

"You mean when you’re only ten years old, right? Don’t you forget this bitch was our nanny before she dated you?" Lance said. "She’s a fucking groomer!"

"YOU!"

Theodore clenched his fist. He was ready to punch Lance, who dared to insult his fiancee. But before he could do that, Angel quickly broke the fight between them;

"Okay, time out, boys. Don’t fight over stupid things like this."
