She Becomes A Hot Sensation After A Scandalous Affair -
Chapter 104
Chapter 104: Chapter 104
Madeline visited her mother the next day. She missed her mother a lot and wanted to check whether her condition was improving.
She parked her old car and rushed into the hospital. She was greeted by the nurse, who always had a morning shift.
"Good morning, Madeline. It’s been a while since you came for a visit. Is everything alright?" The nurse asked kindly, knowing the unfortunate situation surrounding Madeline Rose and her family.
She didn’t know if the rumor about Madeline was true, but the least she could do was make Madeline’s life easier by not asking about those rumors directly.
"Good morning, Nurse Dalton," Madeline smiled. "I had to film something in another country and just returned yesterday."
"I see. Well, your Mom is at the hospital’s garden with another nurse. She said she misses you a lot," Nurse Dalton said.
"Thanks, Nurse. I’m going to check on her now," Madeline said as she rushed to the hospital’s garden.
There, she saw her mother, Diana, sitting in a wheelchair, staring at the flowers with an empty expression.
She ignored the nurse who tried to strike up a conversation with her, only responding with a few perfunctory smiles when necessary.
Madeline clenched her bag as she gathered her courage.
No matter how often she came here to check on her, she always felt this nervousness in her heart. Her mother didn’t know that Madeline had returned to the entertainment industry as a skank, and she shouldn’t know because Madeline didn’t want to burden her with this sad reality while she was battling cancer.
Madeline approached her mother and exchanged smiles with the Nurse, indirectly telling her she could take it from here, as usual.
As the nurse left, Madeline sat on the bench next to the wheelchair and held Diana’s hand. "Mom, you seem a bit out of it. Is everything okay?"
Diana finally reacted when she heard the familiar voice of her daughter. She turned her head, and her smile bloomed at Madeline.
"You’re finally back, Maddy. I thought you’ve abandoned me..." Diana murmured.
"Oh, don’t be so dramatic, Mom. I went to accompany my boss for a filming in Bali, remember?" Madeline chuckled. "Well, it should’ve been for a month, but I’m back after two weeks."
"D—Did something happen while you were there?" Diana asked.
"Not much," Madeline faked a smile. "But my boss is not feeling well after two weeks. So he got eliminated during the competition, and we returned home."
"Enough of that, Mom. How about you? Are you feeling any better now?" Madeline shifted the topic.
Diana smiled. She took out her knit cap, and showed the fine hair that started to grow on her head, "I’m feeling better now, even better because my hair is growing back."
"OMG! That’s fantastic!" Madeline cheered. Now that her mother didn’t need constant chemotherapy, she could regrow her hair.
However, this joy might not last long because the doctor was still observing the effect of chemo on her.
If the cancer didn’t return, then they could finally leave after six months or so.
But if the cancer did return...
Madeline tried not to ruin this joyful occasion with a pessimistic idea. She held her Mom’s hand and assured her, "You will get well soon, Mom. Then you can finally leave the hospital and stay at home."
"I hope so. I’m so tired of this place," Diana said. She held Madeline’s hand and then asked, "How’s Nathan? Is he still doing well at school?"
"He’s doing fine," Madeline assured. "He will come to visit you when he has time."
"... Maybe he shouldn’t," Diana said. "I’ve been so unfair to him. I didn’t pay any attention to him while he was growing up, so he must’ve hated me now."
"He doesn’t hate you. He’s just... awkward," Madeline said. "But he is a good kid and has good grades too."
Madeline and Diana chatted for a while before she pushed the wheelchair back to Diana’s VIP ward.
She called the nurse for all the medical care before excusing herself to leave.
"Maddy..."
"Yes, Mom?" Madeline looked over her shoulder.
"... take care of yourself. I will return home soon, and you don’t need to work as much," Diana said as she tried to lessen the burden on Madeline’s side.
"No need to worry, Mom. I think everyone in our family has done so much for me. It’s time for me to repay all of your kindness."

Madeline closed the door and walked through the hospital corridor when she bumped into Nurse Dalton and a man with a lab coat.
The man had blonde hair and beautiful green eyes behind his glasses. For some reason, he looked astonishingly similar to Lance, but he didn’t have the same intimidating aura and devilish charm as Lance.
This man had a more refined and kind aura, the type who would make women feel safe.
Unfortunately, Madeline didn’t feel safe around him because she could see his resemblance to Lance.
This made her worry that this man might be one of Lance’s brothers since he mentioned once that he had two brothers and one sister.
Madeline gulped, ’Fuck, I need to minimize risk. I should leave as soon as possible.’
Thus, Madeline lowered her head while wearing her cap and walked past Nurse Dalton, who recognized her easily.
"Are you leaving already?" Nurse Dalton asked.
Madeline could see Nurse Dalton’s and that man’s eyes looking at her back.
Thus, Madeline was forced to halt her step and nod. "I—I have something to do. See you later, Nurse."
After saying goodbye, Madeline hastened to escape their sights, silently wishing the man didn’t have any intention to inquire about her identity.
Or at least, she wished he looked eerily similar to Lance but had zero connection whatsoever.
Madeline returned to her car and sat in a daze to let her panic disappear.
’Let’s just hope for the best. I don’t want Lance to know about my mother. I don’t want him to weaponize my mother’s illness to manipulate me,’ Madeline prayed.
