Chapter 49: Chapter 49 Don’t Let Me See You Tonight
Rumors about Fu Shihan and Sheng Qian were not uncommon, and compared to gossip about Fu Shihan with other women, the claim that Sheng Qian was his official girlfriend held more water.
In Su Wanxin’s eyes, it was the same. She didn’t believe Fu Shihan would marry Shen Xiaochen, but she believed he would marry Sheng Qian.
After a few encounters with Sheng Qian, Su Wanxin thought she was quite interesting, and likely the type that Fu Shihan would be attracted to. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have gotten this close, and Fu Shihan wouldn’t have brought her home.
Fu Shihan was a man of strong will, domineering, and obsessive cleanliness. He valued his personal space and rarely let anyone visit his residence.
Su Wanxin withdrew her gaze from the scarf, gave a self-mocking smile, and turned on the TV to kill time.
Fu Shihan had been busy in the study for over an hour, while Su Wanxin had been watching TV for just as long, without moving from her spot, not even to pour herself a glass of water.
"Is there anything good on?" Fu Shihan came out, sat down beside her, and saw Sheng Qian’s face on the TV screen. He smiled, "Her recent costume drama seems to be doing quite well in the ratings."
"Yes, very high."
"You like watching it?"
"Good actors, good plot—nobody would dislike that." Su Wanxin spoke matter-of-factly. "Sheng Qian’s acting is quite good, and she’s beautiful, with a promising future."
Hearing her praise like this, Fu Shihan watched it with her for a while but just couldn’t see what was good about it.
Having grown accustomed to seeing Sheng Qian casually cracking jokes and eating sunflower seeds with her legs crossed, he found it very uncomfortable to watch her play other characters.
"It’s getting late; let’s go up and rest." Fu Shihan reached out to wrap his arm around Su Wanxin’s waist. She leaned against him, and he told her, "Don’t stay up late if you’re not feeling well."
"So, the real reason President Fu called me here today was to have me stay the night?" Su Wanxin smiled mischievously, "Shouldn’t we discuss the price for that?"
She didn’t shy away from Fu Shihan’s intimacy, turning her head to meet his gaze, her eyes slightly cool. "I’m top-quality goods, my price isn’t low."
"Do you really have to speak to me with that tone?"
"What else?" Su Wanxin’s smile deepened, but it didn’t reach her eyes. "President Fu taught me that one should be self-aware and know one’s place. My current position is that of a whore..."
Before she could finish saying "whore," Fu Shihan had pressed her down on the sofa.
A dangerous aura enveloped Su Wanxin, and before she could see his angry expression, her lips were sealed by his.
It was a kiss devoid of any affection, full of only punishment and anger.
Su Wanxin lay motionless until he hovered over her ear, panting, teeth clenched, and asked hoarsely: "Have you decided that I wouldn’t dare to do anything to you?"
If not, how could she dare to provoke him like this over and over again? Besides her, no one dared to be so presumptuous in front of him.
"President Fu is joking. For you, killing me is as simple as crushing an ant, so where does the question of daring come in?"
Fu Shihan was silent.
Indeed, he could let her die, but he didn’t have the heart to.
Fu Shihan opened his mouth and bit her shoulder fiercely. Su Wanxin winced in pain, but she did not cry out for mercy.
"Go upstairs, I don’t want to see you tonight."
Fu Shihan held her in his arms for a moment and then let go. Su Wanxin slowly got up, straightened her clothes, and silently walked upstairs.
Fu Shihan watched her walk away, and only after she had completely disappeared around the corner of the staircase did he slump on the sofa, his head bowed in deep thought.
