Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Please me and I will let you go.

Fu Shihan could tell those grandiose lies without blushing or panting. Su Wanxin had always admired this thick-skinned, or rather shameless, spirit of his.

The food was served quickly. Su Wanxin ate in small bites, and Fu Shihan didn’t initiate any more conversation with her. He answered two phone calls during the meal, both from the company.

"I’m done eating, you can go back now," Su Wanxin straightened up and wiped the corner of her mouth.

Fu Shihan raised an eyebrow, "Easily satisfied, just like that towards me?"

"I’m paying for this meal."

"The payment has already been made."

"Then what do you want me to do? What did you actually want by meeting me today?" Su Wanxin was annoyed. "Mr. Fu, I am your enemy, please treat me with the attitude of an enemy, okay?"

The word ’enemy’ made Fu Shihan’s eyes darken; his intense gaze made Su Wanxin extremely uncomfortable.

The atmosphere turned suffocating. Su Wanxin didn’t want to stiffen up here with him, so she stood up.

"I’m going to the restroom, excuse me."

She left briskly, and Fu Shihan watched her retreating back and then stood up slowly.

After washing her face in the restroom, Su Wanxin sneaked out and looked around. Seeing that Fu Shihan had not followed her, she carefully headed towards the side door of the restaurant, hoping to leave quietly.

She successfully walked out of the restaurant door, crossing the small courtyard. As soon as Su Wanxin stepped out of the courtyard gate, her tense emotions significantly relaxed.

But, just as she stepped out of the courtyard, her wrist was grabbed by Fu Shihan who had been waiting at the door for ages, leaving her stunned.

"You ignore the proper front door and choose a back path, what are you trying to do?"

Fu Shihan turned, switching their positions. Su Wanxin, pushed against the wall, had her escape attempt caught red-handed, and she didn’t dare to look him in the eyes.

"Trying to run," she said, head down but boldly. "How did you guess I was here?"

"Don’t want to stay with me?"

"Yes."

"Fine." Fu Shihan was unusually accommodating, but the more he was like this, the more afraid Su Wanxin became. "Please me, and I’ll let you go."

Su Wanxin’s lips tightened and her breathing became slightly rushed. Fu Shihan’s gaze deepened as he looked at her, his eyes moving from her eyes to her nose, and finally resting on her reddish lips.

His throat tightened a bit, and he urged her in a low voice, "Do I need to teach you how?"

"Don’t even think about it," Su Wanxin firmly refused.

"Then there’s nothing I can do."

Fu Shihan smiled faintly, holding her hand as he forced her back to the restaurant, and making her get into the car like a trafficker.

The car drove back to Fu Shihan’s residence near the CBD. Entering the house, Su Wanxin saw the door lock that could only be opened with a fingerprint code, and she looked up in despair.

Once inside, Fu Shihan ignored her, going into the study to turn on the computer, busy with a video conference with the branch office. Su Wanxin stood in front of the living room floor-to-ceiling window looking at the night scene for a while, then sat down on the sofa to rest. That’s when she noticed an Hermès silk scarf in the corner of the sofa.

It was a style only a woman would use, usually paired with a handbag. Su Wanxin felt familiar because she had seen it wrapped around the platinum bag carried by Sheng Qian last time she saw her.

Su Wanxin paused for a moment, then sighed with a bitter smile.

How foolish was she to sometimes naively fantasize, thinking that Fu Shihan still had lingering feelings for her, thinking that he couldn’t be without her?
