deff my most favorite novel in this site. the lore, the foreshadowing, the romance. it all match with me. sometime i feel like this novel is made especially for me becaise of how much similiar it is to my taste. everything is just perfect. sorry for my bad english but i just want to express how much i love this novel
my fav arc was antartica cuz it was really good and stuff, sunnys really cool, the little devil he is, AM I RIGHT OR AM I RIGHT HAHAHAHAHAHA
Hm. Having read the novel twice, I suppose I am privileged with merit in the review I write, though I did skip rereading volume six and seven... for now.
First and foremost, Shadow Slave is Sunless' story in a world gone insane.
There are so many gears churning in the story as it progresses through each day and all of them connect together so well, as if woven by a master.
The storytelling is brilliant and the characters are brilliant too (except Mister Fraud; how you feel now, huh? Gonna cry? Cry about it!).However, do not expect too much character exposition since the story focuses on Sunless' perspective.
The worldbuilding is a masterclass in writing and so is the lore. From the first chapter to even now, both the world and the lore deepens still.
The story is simple enough for even cavemen to understand, yet at the same time is so enjoyable, so deep and so expansive.
Ah, but as I said before, it's a story about Sunless in a world gone insane. Sunless evolves throughout the story, and drastically at that. Without spoilers... it stings, a little.
The story can get slow sometimes but I have mostly never found a problem with it, taking it as simply the experience of reading the novel at a slow pace. The story's nexus is Sunless, after all, not our enjoyment, a fast pace or anything else.
I love Shadow Slave more than any other written piece of work, and indeed, Sunless is the greatest character I have ever seen.
The novel is very good, and the plot is also very tense and exciting. Looking forward to the author's updates. If there are any shortcomings, there are some similarities with the previous work, and I hope to make breakthroughs in the future
Shadow Slave is one of the best web novels in the dark fantasy genre. It's a gripping survival tale with rich lore, smart writing, and a protagonist you can’t help but root for. If you enjoy stories like Solo Leveling, Re:Zero, or The Mistborn Trilogy, this novel will likely become one of your favorites.
G3 when you sat down to write this, what exactly went through your head? Did you take a shower? Did you think, “Yeah, I’m about to cook”? Because what you cooked smells like ur stench
The pacing is abysmal bloated with filler, constant cliffhangers, Characters aside from Sunny feel flat, and even he regresses or acts inconsistently to serve the plot. Gets nerfed again and again
Romance is akward af and female lead doesn’t get proper character development or real presence until nearly chapter 1500
why did you think it was okay to write 1,500 chapters and not give the female lead a personality?
Please. For the love of all that is readable. Close the Google Doc. Take a shower. And never do this to us again.
It's really good and of course it's not perfect 9/10 before the last 2 volumes
8-8,5/ 10 after

Perfect Mc,Perfect Character development,Perfect World building,Perfect Plot,Great Sidecast,Perfect Females Cast,Perfect Pacing,Perfect all!!!
Can't get better than SS. The comedy, fights, characters, powers and world building is always on point. Might seem generic at the beginning but don't be mistaken, it is incredibly unique. 😏
