Chapter 98 - 96 | The Other Me

Chapter 98: 96 | The Other Me

All of Adonis’s apologies were going through one of Blue’s ears and coming out through the other. Blue couldn’t find it in himself to understand Adonis’s actions.

"... There’s that. Do you forgive me?" Blue tuned back into the things that Adonis was telling him.

"No," Blue responded straightforwardly.

Adonis’s eyes widened as he said, "Why? But I just apologized—"

"Apologizing doesn’t suddenly wipe your mistakes away. You know, right? I choose to hate you. Nothing is going to make me change my mind." Blue said these words, then took a step to leave.

He remembered too late that both sides were blocked, giving Adonis the opportunity to grab onto his arm and pull him close.

It was only for a second but Blue was able to get a whiff of Adonis’s pheromones. It was woody and rainy. Blue was disgusted. He found a way to rip his arm from Adonis’s grip, then set it for a punch.

Only after attempting to hit Adonis did Blue remember the consequences. He sucked in a deep breath and let down his hand.

"It’s not worth it." Blue muttered to himself.

Adonis was surprised to hear this and see Blue letting his actions slide. Blue turned away from Adonis. River, who had witnessed the entire thing, was a little afraid when Blue looked at him.

He didn’t need to be told anything as he shifted his body and made space for Blue to pass. Blue walked out from behind the trailer and suddenly felt the back of his neck itch.

It was the aftereffect of sniffing an unfamiliar Alpha’s pheromones. The itch was enough to put completely Blue in a bad and lonely mood.

He made his way back to the set building with a frown on his face. Before Blue was able to take a step into the building, he felt the presence of someone behind him.

Turning around, Blue couldn’t say he was surprised to see Adonis shadowing him. Blue didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. How annoying could a human being actually be??

"You stay away from—"

"Hahahahaha!" The sound of laughter made Blue cut himself off.

It was not only one person laughing, but a group of people. It was so distracting that it made Blue forget to finish rebuking Adonis as he walked into the building.

The sound of laughter continued as Blue continued walking. He saw that most of the cast and crew were gathered together after getting deeper into the set.

He could see them hovering around someone who was a head taller than them. Blue stopped walking. He could only see the back of the person’s head, but it had already made a thousand thoughts go through his head.

"Mr. Dumont, you’re so funny!" Blue heard someone say.

"Ah. Call me Winter. Mr. Dumont is too formal, isn’t it?"

It had been three weeks since he last heard the sound of that particular voice. Blue’s fists tightened at either side as he ground his teeth.

"But you’re technically our boss, how could we do such a thing?" A feminine voice from the crowd asked.

Winter laughed and said, "Then technically, as your boss, I’d like you all to call me by my name. We’re all friends here, aren’t we?"

Blue rolled his eyes in the spot where he was standing. This was Classic Winter being his classic self.

"The boss himself..." Blue heard someone say from behind him.

He glanced back and realized that Adonis hadn’t left his side and was still sticking close to him. Blue didn’t know who was annoying him most now.

"He’s pretty cool, isn’t he?" Adonis looked straight into Blue’s eyes.

It was so creepy that it made Blue turn his head away and say, "Don’t ask me."

Right on cue, someone said, "Blue’s here."

After that, other people started to say it and parted ways for Winter to see Blue. In a few seconds, Blue was able to get a clear view of Winter.

Winter was wearing a brown suit, holding a flower bouquet and a box of chocolate. When he saw Blue, the smile that was on his face broadened. Blue’s fists tightened even more.

"Excuse me. I have to apologize to my lover." Winter shyly excused himself as he began to walk in Blue’s direction.

However, he had only taken a step when he paused. His eyes settled on something. Blue didn’t know what.

Winter’s and Adonis’s eyes clashed. The two of them were surprisingly glaring at each other. Winter’s friendly aura disappeared as fast as it reappeared. Winter continued walking like nothing happened.

Other people hadn’t noticed the shift in Winter’s mood. However, Blue was quick to catch it. He guessed that Winter was probably having second thoughts about whatever stunt he was about to pull. Maybe he was wrong.

Winter reached Blue, and before he even got to say anything, Adonis opened his mouth to speak.

"It’s the other me!" Adonis said with a smile, slightly pushing Blue away so he could stand face to face with Winter.

Blue, who had been pushed behind, could only roll his eyes.

"Other you...?" Winter questioned slowly.

"Yeah, can’t you see it? Same hair, eyes. Almost the same height. We’re both Extremely Dominant Alphas. And we both like to trouble this little guy! Haha!" Adonis swung an arm around Blue’s shoulder after speaking.

Blue didn’t make any effort to indulge Adonis’s actions as he immensely shoved away the guy’s hand and said, "Don’t touch me."

"You must be Adonis. Nice to meet you." Winter said with a fake smile. Unlike his other fake smiles, he didn’t put any effort into it. Clearly doing so to show that he couldn’t care less about looking good in Adonis’s eyes.

"And you’re Winter Dumont." Adonis said with a smile, putting out his hand for a shake.

Winter was holding a flower bouquet in one hand and a box of chocolate in the other. He would be able to place the flowers under his arms to accept the shake. But Winter chose to shrug and tsk in disappointment as he said, "My hands are kinda full."

A vein at the side of Adonis’s forehead ticked and his smile broke for a second. Though he was a well-awarded actor, Adonis was clearly not as good at acting as Winter.

"That’s alright." Adonis put his hand away, speaking in a tone that depicted he clearly wasn’t ’alright’.

The atmosphere became awkward after that because of Adonis.

"So, if you can excuse us, Adonis..." Winter said after a moment with a perfectly polite tone and smile, signifying that Adonis was coming in between him and Blue.

Adonis was ticked by Winter once again. He forced himself to smile as he stepped out of Winter’s way and said, "It was fun meeting you. You’re a lucky man."

Winter’s attention had already been fixed on Blue, but after hearing the second part of Adonis’s sentence, Winter glanced at Adonis and kindly inquired, "What do you mean?"

Adonis only smiled in response as he walked away. Winter internally frowned, staring at the Alpha’s retreating figure. Then he turned back to look at Blue

Under Blue’s cold gaze, all of Winter’s confidence went poof.

"H-Hi." Winter managed to stutter by saying only one word.

"Can we—"

"Let’s go somewhere else." Blue cut Winter off.

That was the time Winter realized that the gathering of people whom he had been buttering up were still around, watching his every move with great intent.

Winter couldn’t help but sigh and wallow internally.

’It was hard being everyone’s favorite guy.’

Then he externally nodded in agreement to Blue’s words. In fact, he was a bit surprised that Blue was willing to hear him out and even offered to speak with him privately.

This was more than he had expected from Blue. Winter had to wave away his newfound friends before following Blue’s lead and going to someplace quiet.

"Speak." Blue said the moment he stopped walking.

They were both under a coconut tree distanced from the main set building.

"Um... I brought this for you." Winter said, stretching out his hand to give Blue the flowers and chocolate.

Blue stared at Winter with a ’really?’ look. Winter smiled awkwardly.

Blue exhaled through his mouth and collected the things Winter was offering to him.

"I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have gotten mad at you." Winter began saying with his gaze fixed on the ground.

Blue could already feel himself melting down. In fact, he had softened up long ago on the very night they had a fight. All this time, Blue had just been waiting for Winter to come to him because God forbid he took the first step and was rejected by Winter.

Blue had almost given up and believed that Winter must not have cared about him anymore since he hadn’t contacted him once during the three weeks a cold war was going on between them—totally putting away the fact that Winter didn’t even have his new number.

"You’re out here all day, working and doing stuff without time to think of yourself. While all I have is the time to think of you. And I..."

Winter suddenly forgot the speech that he had planned out once he looked at Blue’s face.
