Chapter 99 - 97 | Breaking Up

Chapter 99: 97 | Breaking Up

Maybe it was because he hadn’t seen Blue for a while, but Blue looked different in Winter’s eyes—more paler and beautiful. Smaller, too.

The urge to wrap his arms around Blue and just hold him overwhelmed Winter.

"And you what?" Blue questioned, seeing as Winter had just stopped talking midway.

"And I... Fuck. I’m sorry, okay? I’m an inconsiderate idiot." Winter said, giving up on remembering his lines.

Then he closed the distance between himself and Blue to say, "An inconsiderate idiot who misses you."

Blue raised an unamused brow in question. If Winter truly missed him, why didn’t he contact him? Winter was well aware of his location all this time. So why didn’t he come for him?

Why didn’t he behave like his usual obnoxious and possessive self, coming to meet him and forcing him to go back with him? Though Blue would’ve kicked him during the process, he still wanted it.

He still hoped that Winter would have the strength to fight for him. Not that he would get tired and when he finally realized that he was lonely, he would come searching for Blue.

Blue didn’t want Winter to feel like that about him. He wanted Winter to want him; even if he was tired or annoyed or irritated by him.

Blue wanted Winter to want him the way he wanted Winter. Regardless of his mood, Blue would still think of Winter and hope to see him. But it was clear that it obviously wasn’t the same for Winter.

And there was nothing he could do about it.

"So? What do you want now?" Blue asked, still keeping his composure and refraining from showing his vulnerable side to Winter.

"I want you to come back home." Winter said shamelessly.

"That’s not my home." Blue immediately said with a deadpan tone.

Winter’s jaw dropped and his pitch unconsciously increased as he said, "What do you mean that’s not your home??"

"Exactly what you think I mean. That house is yours. Not mine. I don’t know how you tricked me into staying there all this time but I’m not going back there." Blue said straightforwardly.

Winter was at a loss for words. Blue’s expression didn’t show that he was making a joke or speaking without thinking.

Spending all that time in Adam’s house had made Blue realize that the relationship problems he had with Winter must have started from when they began to live together.

And he couldn’t exactly pinpoint when and how it even became that way. It started with just having sex there. Then staying over for weekends. Before Blue knew it, there would always be spare clothes for him to wear when he was at Winter’s place, dissuading him from going back to his own place to change.

Then it became sharing meals together and even buying food stuff together. They started coexisting without even talking about it.

And though it was fun. It was a problem.

If Blue were to be at his own place, he wouldn’t be reporting his whereabouts to Winter and apologizing for coming late. It was because they were together that they had more allowance to see the other sides of each other which they clearly weren’t prepared to handle.

"I can forgive you for losing your temper at me and I’m also sorry for being nonchalant about making you worry, but I’m not coming back." Blue added solemnly.

Winter’s shoulders trembled as his voice dropped down to a whisper.

"Are you breaking up with me?"

"I didn’t say that," Blue replied almost immediately, clarifying whatever nonsense was cooking in Winter’s head.

"Then what are you saying? How can my home not be your home? Do you even know what that means?" Winter’s voice went higher again.

"I know exactly what it means. It seems like you’re the one who doesn’t! Not staying with you doesn’t mean I don’t love you anymore. It just means that I need space from you for myself!" Blue exclaimed.

Winter was silent for a while as he watched Blue’s chest go up and down as he breathed heavily.

"Is it because of him?" Winter’s voice came out dangerously low.

His question came out as completely confusing to Blue, causing Blue to say, "What?"

Winter sneered. "That guy. He’s the one who wants you to get space from me, isn’t he? That’s why he tossed your phone away when you were talking to me that day, right?"

"What does Adonis have to do with my own personal decision and who told you about that?" Blue said.

"Should that matter? Why weren’t you the one who told me? You say you love me but I’m never on your mind. If I was, then you wouldn’t be keeping things like that from me. Is it because you find yourself guilty or you think—"

"Oh, my God. Are you listening to yourself right now, Winter? Just what are you trying to say here?" Blue cut Winter off, already pissed.

"All I’m trying to say is that I want you back. What are you trying to say?" Winter said with a pointed tone, trying to make it seem as if Blue was guilty for something.

"You want me back, yet you’re so eager to throw dumb and baseless accusations against me? Just what the hell is wrong with you? And like you said before, what’s wrong with us?" Blue spoke with an icy tone.

Winter had nothing to say in response. Fuck, he was tired. He was tired of making Blue try to see that he cared about and didn’t want to fight with him concerning anything.

But if he said that out loud, Blue would surely interpret it as something else and start up a fight with him. Everything was so pointless.

"I... I just want you," Winter said with an exhausted tone, "without all of these problems you seem to bring up that aren’t visible to anyone but yourself."

"What- what does that mean?" Blue said with a small voice.

"This. Exactly this. I say something and you act like it’s so offensive to you when they’re just words. Can you just stop?" Winter was getting irritated now.

Blue’s eyes narrowed into a glare. It seemed like he wanted to fight. However, as he opened his mouth to speak, the only thing that came out was a bitter laugh.

"Sure. I’ll stop."

With that said, Blue let go of the flowers and box of chocolate he was holding. It was so unexpected that Winter didn’t get the time to pick them up from the floor or even let out any words of exclamation.

"Don’t come to the set again." Blue said with a detached tone, then turned his back to Winter and walked away as fast he could.

Winter was forced to watch Blue walk away from him for the umpteenth time. This time, he didn’t even bother calling him back or chasing after him. He just felt... tired.

Winter always used to like how Blue was always audible about his opinions and never afraid to do as he liked. But recently, he’d discovered that he was tired of that particular trait Blue had.

Would it kill Blue to compromise sometimes? Even for a little while?

Winter truly wanted to know the answer to those questions.

Blue returned to the studio with an even worse expression than he had when he left. The first thing that people noticed was that he wasn’t holding onto the flowers and chocolate that Winter brought.

They didn’t need to be geniuses to discover that Blue didn’t accept them and probably got into a fight with Winter.

The air around Blue was so chilly that shivers ran down the spines of the people he walked past. Blue settled on the Assistant Director’s chair and said to Ken:

"What’s the hold up? Why hasn’t today’s shooting started yet?"

His tone was so dark that it scared Ken! Ken was too afraid to tell Blue that they were all waiting for him. He could only mutter something about giving the actors time to build up on their spirits.

Blue didn’t even listen to whatever Ken told him as he insisted on taking the lead in directing as he called for everyone’s attention and made the people who were supposed to start, start.

The day was a long one. But not long enough to make Blue forget that he had possibly ruined his relationship.

Author has something to say: Ahhhhhhhh. My Shaylaaaaaaas. Whyyyyyyyyy???

*Cue melodramatic breakdown*

What do you guys think? Who is right in actions between Winter and Blue? And also, I’m just inputting my personal views into Blue here.

I kinda believe that couples staying together are bound to have more problems that those who don’t stay together. I have a tone of reasons for saying that, as well as research. I don’t know if I want to really go deep on it.

I just want to know. Who else thinks that way? And who doesn’t?
