Shades of Blue (Omegaverse BL)
Chapter 97 - 95 | Good

Chapter 97: 95 | Good

Shooting was halted. Why wouldn’t it be when the main actor was assaulted by the assistant director of the movie? But it wasn’t halted for ’official’ reasons.

It was a decision made by the cast and crew unanimously. Adonis needed time for the cut on his lips and the bruises on his body—courtesy of Blue’s fists—to heal. And Blue needed time to calm down and get his shit together.

The crew needed time to relax from the drama of shooting. So it was agreed that the shooting was going to be halted for three weeks.

During these three weeks, Blue was doing everything he could to not think about everything he could. And by doing this, he was inconveniencing everyone around him.

Everyone being Logan.

Since the fight with Winter, Blue had been staying at Adam’s place. And Logan, who was also a local resident of Adam’s place, was the one who felt Blue’s presence the most.

Logan was kicked out of the room and forced to spend his nights on the living room couch. That was not all. With Blue around, to Adam, he was practically invisible.

It was all, ’Blue, are you okay?’, ’Logan, get Blue water’, ’Logan, get something for Blue to eat’, ’Logan, excuse us, I have to talk to Blue.’

Blue. Blue. Blue. Blue. Blue!

Logan was quite fed up. Which explained why he was currently dialing Winter’s number. It was time for the Alpha to come pick up his Omega.

Logan and Winter had only spoken a few times during the cold war. And it was mostly Winter calling Logan to confirm if Blue was still with them. That was all he did.

As though Blue’s location was more important than anything. What kind of crazy guy didn’t show up in a grand style to pick up his lover and apologize sincerely when there was a problem??

Logan had always known that Winter was built for relationships. It was a surprise that he and Blue had lasted together for so long. Logan hoped that even if they broke up, Winter would still have enough shame not to go back to his old ways of hunting Omegas.

Winter picked up Logan’s call on the first ring. Logan was a bit surprised that Winter would be eager to take his call.

"Is everything okay with Blue?" Winter asked Logan without giving him the chance to speak first.

’So you only think something must be wrong with Blue before I’d take the initiative to call you??’ Logan thought angrily.

Externally, he let out a sigh and said, "When are you going to fix things with Blue? It’s been weeks. Are you just going to let him stay out for this long without making any attempt to see or talk to him??"

"I sent him a text. He said he needed space. What do you want me to do?" Winter’s tone was a mix of casual and hopeless.

’I don’t know, probably fight for your love!!’ Logan almost shouted. But he composed himself and said, "You guys have had enough space. Too much space and you won’t even be together anymore."

"And besides, I doubt Blue wants that much space from you. He always seems to wallow in sadness thinking of you when he’s not being distracted. And did you know that since they’ve halted filming, Blue has nothing to do but sit down and overthink all day?"

"They’ve halted filming...? Why?" Winter questioned curiously.

"Hold on, you don’t know about this?" Logan was surprised to see that Winter was in the dark about such a matter.

"If I knew, I wouldn’t be asking you." Winter spoke monotonously.

Then it occurred to Logan that Winter truly must not have had any idea of what happened to Blue that night which explained his reluctance to be the first to give in.

The only people who knew the truth were him, Blue, Adam, the cast and crew of the movie, and the police. It was a given that Winter didn’t know anything as the matter was tightly locked between those who knew it.

It didn’t make any hot searches or hot headlines, so how would anybody know?

Logan was now burdened with the task of enlightening Winter. And for a while after explaining things to Winter, Winter didn’t say anything.

"Hello, are you still there?" Logan had to ask because of the long silence.

That was when he heard Winter inhale deeply and say, "Yeah."

"When will their shooting resume?" Winter asked Logan.

Logan calculated a bit with his fingers before finally saying, "I think it’s tomorrow."

"Good. That’s good." Logan heard Winter say.

"Good? What does that mean? Is it ’good Blue is finally going to work’? Or good, you’re going to pick Blue up and make up with him’?" Logan questioned.

"None of your business." Winter said coldly.

"Hey. Hey. Hey. Don’t be—"

"Bye." Winter terminated the call mid Logan’s sentence.

"Stupid bastard." Logan cursed Winter when he was sure that the call was really terminated.

Winter was really the worst.

***

Blue wanted to be anywhere but on the set. However, life was cruel and his own time did not belong to him. Beating up Alphas was no new thing for Blue. And being gossiped about negatively because of the beating of Alphas was also not a new thing for Blue.

But in this setting, in this after school setting where everyone knew who they were and weren’t just people he could ignore their opinions of, Blue actually felt something other than satisfaction for beating up an useless Alpha.

Even with a raised head and straight shoulders, Blue still felt like hiding into himself and picking a corner to disappear into.

The first person who took the initiative to have a conversation with him was surprisingly River Stockton. He came smoothly and asked to have a private chat with Blue.

Blue wasn’t obliged to agree, but since he wanted to be away from the judging eyes, he said yes and went along with River.

The two of them navigated to River’s trailer and decided to stand behind it.

"What did you want to tell me that you had to drag me all the way out here?" Blue asked, folding his arms.

An apologetic look made its way to River’s face as he said, "He made me do it."

"What..." Just as Blue was trying to wrap his head around the meaning of River’s words, the one person he currently loathed appeared.

If Blue despised seeing Adonis’s face before because it was three parts similar to Winter’s face, now, the emotions that surfaced upon seeing Adonis’s face was not only anger, but sadness and longing.

Blue had to sharply remind himself that Adonis was not Winter by any means.

"What the fuck is going on here?" Blue didn’t hide the irritation and annoyance in his tone as he asked that question.

River seemed to have faded into black as Adonis stepped forward to speak. The cut on his lip seemed to have healed well. And since he looked just fine walking over to Blue, the bruises must have healed well also.

"I asked him to help me bring you here cause I knew you wouldn’t want to come with me if I asked you." Adonis confessed.

He was damn right because as soon as he said those words, Blue’s first reaction was to sidestep him and walk away. However, Adonis was quick to react, stepping sideways to block Blue’s path.

Blue decided to use the back. As he turned around, he saw River blocking his way also. That was when Blue’s expression completely crumbled up.

"What the fuck is this?"

"It’s not anything. I just want to talk to you." Adonis explained calmly.

"By trapping me??" Blue questioned.

"It depends on how you look at it. This isn’t necessarily trapping you—I’ll just shut up now." Adonis changed the tone of his words after being struck by a super hateful glare from Blue.

"Look, I just want to apologize for throwing your phone into the water that day." Adonis said (sincerely?).

Blue wasn’t buying into the apology. It was beyond him to understand why someone would grab another person’s phone they were using to make a phone call and throw the phone into the sea.

Like, why? What sane human being would ever do such a thing?

"I don’t know. I wasn’t in a good mood and I knew you were talking to the Boss, so I don’t know, I just decided to pour my frustration on you." Adonis explained shamelessly.

Blue didn’t say anything. He only continued to look at Adonis with annoyance and hatred.

"It wasn’t cool, I know. But I’m sorry. It was super dumb of me. I shouldn’t have thrown your phone away. I hope I didn’t cause any problems for you because of it." Adonis said.

’You caused a lot of problems. You caused all the problems in the world for me because of your stupidity!’ Blue thought angrily.

If Adonis hadn’t thrown his phone, Blue would’ve listened to what Winter had to say and found out that he had to be home early. He wouldn’t have fought with Adonis and gotten dragged to the station.

Instead, he would have found a way to end the shoot early and go home to Winter. And they would have had a super blissful night.

None of those things got to happen because of this annoying human being standing in front of him.
