Shades of Blue (Omegaverse BL)
Chapter 95 - 93 | Tired

Chapter 95: 93 | Tired

Blue arrived at Winter’s doorstep past midnight with a frustratingly tired body. He opened the door, dragging his feet in. All his limbs ached.

After throwing the first punch and hitting Adonis’s face, he remembered that Adonis was an actor, so he had to change his location of beating.

Of course no one on the set had been able to stop him from beating Adonis until he was satisfied. And after his satisfaction, he was dragged to the station and charged with assault.

Remembering the amount of money he’d let go of today, Blue couldn’t help but sigh. He switched on the lights to the living room as he walked into the house, then collapsed on the nearest chair with another sigh.

He didn’t have the strength to take off his shoes or his clothes, or even his bag that he had forgotten at the beach. Blue rested his neck on the head of the chair and closed his eyes to sleep.

"You’re just coming in." Blue heard a deep voice speak, causing him to slowly open his eyes.

Standing in front of him was Winter with folded arms and hardened facial features.

"Yeah..." Blue said in response, even though he wasn’t asked a question.

"Where’s your phone?" Winter asked.

"At the bottom of the ocean." Blue said, then let out a self-deprecating laugh as he leaned forward and pushed his hair back.

To Winter, Blue sounded like he was making a joke. The anger which he had been trying to depress suddenly flared up.

"Is it funny? Do you know how many times I tried to call you? Do you know how many places I’ve gone to tonight in search of you??" Winter yelled.

Blue scrunched up his face and lazily said, "You’re being too loud. Speak softly."

"You-" Winter stopped himself from speaking. His eyes narrowed into thin slits as he stared at Blue, who was trying to make himself comfortable by getting into a horizontal position on the chair.

If Blue were to be anyone else, Winter was sure that he would’ve punched him in frustration.

"Why... Why do you have an Alpha’s pheromones on you?" Winter asked slowly, realizing it for the first time since he started talking to Blue.

Blue was trying to rest with his hand covering his eyes. His tone was completely nonchalant as he said, "I do? Oh, well."

"’Oh well’? What do you mean by ’oh well’??" Winter reacted explosively.

"Oh, my God. What do you want me to say? Do you think I have some kind of superpower to protect myself from getting sprayed by scummy Alphas’ pheromones??" Blue used the same tone as Winter, forcing himself to stand up from the chair.

"What? What the fuck are you saying? You go around letting Alphas release their pheromones on you without doing anything? Are you trying to play a joke on me or what??" Winter yelled.

Blue was about to yell at Winter as well, but he felt his entire body shiver with exhaustion so he inhaled deeply and said softly, "I don’t have the strength to do this with you today. Let’s not do this."

"Do what? Do what exactly?? I’m trying to talk to you here and you keep making it seem like I’m doing something bad and annoying you." Winter reasoned.

"Well, you are annoying me. After the long day I had, I was expecting to come home to peace, but here you are trying to fight with me as well." Blue said with a sharp tone.

"Who’s fighting with you? I just want to talk to you! I haven’t seen you all day and you cut the call on me when we were talking. I couldn’t reach out to you. I had to go to all the beaches in the city to search for you and I couldn’t find you in any one of them. I even went to file a police report because you were nowhere!

"And you think you can just waltz back home and sleep without accounting for where you are? Do you know just how worried I was? Why are you acting this way? Are you tired of this? Are you tired of me?" Winter’s voice decrescendoed as he spoke, till it dropped to a whisper at his last sentence.

There was a loud silence after Winter spoke.

"What’s wrong with us? We weren’t like this before. So why?" Winter asked Blue with a desperate expression on his face.

"I’m tired. We’ll talk in the morning." Blue simply said, then he turned his back to Winter in an attempt to go upstairs to the room.

Blue’s wrist was grabbed by Winter, evoking a pained hiss from him. Before Winter could turn Blue around so they could face each other, Blue had already landed a punch to Winter’s shoulder to free himself.

"Fuck!" Winter cussed out of pain, grabbing his hit shoulder and releasing Blue’s wrist immediately.

"I didn’t mean to-" Blue began saying with an apologetic tone as he reached out to touch Winter, but his hand was swatted away.

"Don’t." Winter simply said to Blue with gritted teeth, looking at Blue with the expression that he hated the most. A gaze that spoke louder than words.

"I... I..." Blue tried to speak but he couldn’t form any words with his mouth while looking into Winter’s eyes. Blue’s gaze fell to the ground as he managed to say, "I’m sorry. I need to go."

He began to rush out after saying those words.

"Hey! Hey! Where are you going? Blue, get back here! Blue!" All of Winter’s attempts calling out to Blue were in vain as Blue left the house and slammed the door loudly afterwards.

"Fuck." Winter cussed to himself before he began to move his legs.

He rushed out of the house in pursuit of Blue, but Blue had already taken the elevator to the first floor. Winter hastily took the stairs, going as fast as he could to catch up with Blue.

By the time he got to the first floor, he saw Blue inside a moving cab. Winter was neither with his keys nor cash to go on with the pursuit. He could only sigh and cuss to himself a few more times.

Where did everything go wrong?

Blue got to Adam’s place looking like the entire world was against him. When he rang the bell, he wasn’t met with an immediate response. He had to ring the bell again and again before he heard shuffling from the inside.

The front door was opened after a few seconds by someone who was not Adam.

"Logan?" Blue spoke with a questioning tone after recognizing the person standing in front of him.

"Hi..." Logan said awkwardly.

Blue’s eyes moved to scan him and then he noticed that Logan was almost naked as he was only wearing a pair of short boxers.

"Hi..." Blue also said awkwardly.

"Go put on some clothes, you idiot!" Blue finally heard Adam’s voice as he came forward, covering Logan up with a blanket.

"Yes. Yes. Yes." Logan said in a hurry, grabbing the blanket and rushing back inside the apartment.

"Blue? What are you doing here?" Adam asked with a confused look on his face.

"I... Can I spend the night here?" Blue asked straightforwardly.

On any other occasion, Adam would have refused, seeing that he had another guest over and it was the middle of the night. But as Blue folded his palms and said, "Please...", Adam noticed purple bruises around Blue’s wrists and he assumed the worst.

"Come in. Come in." Adam spoke in a haste, opening his door wider.

Blue stepped into the familiar apartment and was immediately able to sniff out the strong scent of pheromones. He glanced back at Adam and noticed that his friend was only putting on a robe with clearly nothing underneath.

It seemed like he had arrived at a really wrong time. Blue began to feel very uncomfortable and awkward, as well as lonely. If he had another friend, maybe he wouldn’t have had to burden Adam...

"What? What are you thinking about? Have a seat." Adam welcomed Blue as best as he could, leading Blue to sit down on the couch.

Adam silently said ’thank you’ to the heavens because he and Logan hadn’t done anything on the couch the whole day.

"Thank you." Blue said with a low voice.

"Do you want some water? I’ll get you some water." Adam said gently, then turned to the hallway and yelled, "Hey! Idiot! Where are you!?"

The ’idiot’ appeared not less than a second after being summoned.

"Get him a glass of water." Adam instructed Logan.

Logan immediately nodded his head and filled a glass with water for Blue. Then he returned to the living room and handed it to him.

Blue only took a sip of the water before tears suddenly began to stream down from his eyes.

"Hey! Hey! Hey! What are you crying about? What’s wrong?" Adam quickly reacted, grabbing the glass from Blue’s hand and giving it to Logan.

Logan watched the scene with an awkward expression on his face. He didn’t know how to deal with crying people. Worse, crying people who were as unpredictable as Blue!

"Come on, you can tell me. Did Winter do something wrong? Calm down first and stop crying." Adam said with a soothing voice, wiping the tears off Blue’s face but he continued crying.

"He didn’t do anything wrong..." Blue said in between sobs. "And that’s the problem."
