Chapter 84: 82 | No Family

"So this is the power of a third-gen rich kid?" Blue said to Winter with amusement lacing his tone.

"Third-gen rich kid?" Winter questioned in a confused manner.

"Yeah, aren’t you one? You’re rich enough to rent out a whole ass restaurant." Blue laughed as he spoke.

He could remember writing a scene in his useless romance novel, Wildlife, where the Omega, who was the top, had rented out an entire restaurant just to impress the bottom (the Alpha); just like Winter had done for him.

It was around the arc where the top was redeeming himself.

Blue looked at Winter curiously. Winter had told him that he hadn’t read the novel completely and had just skimmed through. Based on his actions today, Blue was starting to believe that Winter had not just skimmed through the novel.

"It’s my parents’ money. I have to spend it." Winter said with a shrug.

"When are you going to start making your own money?" Blue asked Winter casually.

However, Winter looked at him as though he had just said something blasphemous.

"What? What’s wrong?" Blue questioned, noticing the shift in Winter’s mood.

Winter shook his head dismissively. It was the same time the waiter returned to serve their food.

Winter poured Blue and himself wine, then took a sip of it before he spoke.

"My parents have so much money that I doubt there would be any need for me and my next five generations to work." Winter said in a matter-of-fact tone.

Blue raised one of his eyebrows, a bit peeved that Winter was being so arrogant. But he came off his annoyance, acknowledging to himself that Winter was truly a proud man.

"So you’re not going to take over the family business when you come of age?" Blue inquired, taking a bite of his food.

Winter let out a laugh and said, "What do you mean when I come of age? How old do you think I am?"

Blue didn’t want to respond to Winter’s question. His perspective of people like Winter was that they were born and raised to be heirs to carry on the legacy of whatever.

Winter should be over twenty. By this time, according to romance novel logic, he should be preparing to start working in the family business. Besides, they were already in their final years of university. It was time to start thinking about the future—if Winter hadn’t already thought about it.

"Come on, answer me." There was a smile on Winter’s face as he urged Blue.

Blue could sense the mischief in Winter’s actions but since he could not predict them yet, he just decided to go along for fun.

"I don’t know. Twenty-one?" Blue said without much effort, believing he and Winter were the same age.

However, when a wicked smile overtook Winter’s lips, Blue knew that his boyfriend was about to do nonsense.

"Wrong. I’m actually a year older than you." Winter said with raised shoulders, as though being older was a thing of great pride.

"So what?" Blue was quick to burst Winter’s arrogant bubble.

However, the bright smile on Winter’s lips didn’t dim at all. In fact, it seemed to broaden.

Winter leaned forward and said to Blue in a whisper, "You should address me with respect."

Before Blue could get a word in, Winter began to say nonsense.

"You can choose between senior or hyung or senpai or gege." Winter said shamelessly.

Blue’s lips tugged up in irritation after listening to what Winter had to say.

"Do you even know the meaning of any of those things you want to be called?" Blue simply asked Winter.

There was an offended look on Winter’s face as he said, "Of course, I do! How could I not?"

Blue mentally facepalmed himself, then asked, "Did you ever have any of your previous lovers call you by those titles?"

Winter didn’t hesitate to say, "Of course, not. There have been no other lovers besides you."

"Ha!" Blue reflexively laughed at Winter’s blatant lie.

However, Winter stood by his words, saying, "It’s true. You’re the first person I’ve ever asked out and given the title of a lover. The others... the others weren’t anything."

Blue didn’t know what to say after hearing those words. What did Winter mean by the others weren’t anything? Had they once been like him? Lured into Winter’s trap? Then they had gotten discarded at the end of the day?

Blue was terrified of something like that happening to him. He wanted to believe that he truly wasn’t like the ’others’. But with the kind of person Winter was, he might actually be the current ’others’.

"I don’t..."

"What about you?" Winter spoke over Blue’s words.

"Huh? What about me?" Blue questioned.

"Have you had any lov—"

"We finally found you." A deep masculine voice interrupted Winter.

It didn’t take a second for Blue’s spine to straighten as he recognized the familiar voice.

Standing over Winter’s and Blue’s table were Eliot and Atlas. Blue’s blood immediately ran cold in his veins. The shift in the mood was so obvious. Winter’s face darkened.

He could clearly remember all that Blue had said to him about his father. Since Blue wasn’t on good terms with his brothers, it was clear that his brothers could be grouped into the same category as Preston.

Which explained why Winter was hostile towards them as he boldly said, "You’re interrupting us."

Winter could remember that there was a time when he had been slightly afraid of clashing with Blue because of his family. They were all famous pro-boxers. A punch from any of them could land Winter into a six-months coma.

But now that he had Blue on his side, he didn’t think to be afraid of being beaten up to a pulp.

The Kent brothers didn’t even regard Winter as both of their attentions were fixated on Blue.

"It’s been two days since Father..." Eliot trailed off, not able to finish that particular sentence. "You haven’t come back home. What is wrong with you? Have you no heart?"

The same way his brothers ignored Winter was the same way Blue ignored his brothers. He nonchalantly picked up his glass to take a sip of his wine.

As soon as the fluid touched his lips, the glass was slapped from his hand, shattering on the floor with a loud noise.

"What the fuck-"

"Are you insane? Do you think this is all a joke!?" Atlass lost his patience after seeing Blue ignore him.

"Yes, I’m insane! Are you any different!?" Blue flared up, rising up from his seat.

Winter, of course, had to follow suit, preparing himself for the battle he would have to partake in soon.

"Speak to me with respect." Atlas said to Blue.

"I’d rather stab myself and die." Blue retorted icily.

"I’ve had enough of this. We’re going home. Now." Eliot decided to hasten things up as he grabbed onto Blue’s upper arm in an attempt to drag him out from the restaurant.

Eliot’s grip on Blue was loosened by Winter who grabbed his fingers and unlatched them from Blue’s arm.

For the first time since the two brothers arrived, they noticed Winter’s presence.

"This motherfucker... you wanna die!?" Eliot exclaimed, super ready for a beat down.

Winter’s shoulders trembled a little bit upon facing the manic look on Eliot’s eyes, but he steeled himself. Reminding himself that he was no ordinary person but an Extremely Dominant Alpha. Surely, he would be able to suppress the two Kent brothers with his pheromones, wouldn’t he?

"Leave this place. Can’t you see that he wants nothing to do with you people?" Winter said with a deep voice.

Eliot scoffed, "And what’s your business?"

"Anything that concerns Blue concerns me, so—"

"You’d rather stay with this person than come along with your family?" Atlas cut Winter off, directing his question to Blue.

Blue was already red with anger as he said, "I have no family!"

"You fool! You think you’re smart now cause you’re hanging around with this third-gen wet-eared kid??" Eliot shouted.

"Fuck you!" Blue retorted. "And stay the hell away from me. I’ve told you guys countless times. I have and want nothing to do with the Kent family. Whatever I do, whoever I hang out with, is none of your business. Leave me alone!"

"We only watch out for you because we care. And you always seem to lead yourself into trouble. Do you have any idea the kind of person that you’re hanging around with?" Atlas said, his tone intending something serious.

Blue rolled his eyes and said, "I don’t care."

"You will. Do you know the history of this kid? You say you hate Alphas who treat Omegas badly. Do you have any idea what this guy has done to the Omegas he’s been with before you?" Atlas said.

Blue opened his mouth to retort with something snappy but he wasn’t able to make any words come out.

What sort of question was that? The kind of things that Winter had done to Omegas? What did that mean?? Blue couldn’t help but glance at Winter who was standing beside him.

Blue didn’t know what he was expecting Winter to look like, but he was definitely not expecting to see Winter trying to hide a guilty expression on his face.
