Chapter 83: 81 | Disagreement

Winter tried calling Blue. Blue obviously did not accept his call. Instead, he sent a single text.

[Don’t call me.]

Winter read the text and was overcome with concern. He couldn’t stop himself from sending a response to Blue.

[I’m sorry for saying nonsense. Please come back.]

Winter was not so foolishly prideful that he would not apologize whether he was or was not in the wrong. So far as he was dealing with Blue, of all people, he would always be in the wrong if Blue got upset.

He and Blue were both very stubborn. So between the two of them, Winter had long chosen to be the one who would take things with ease, since Blue obviously wasn’t going to slow down or accept things he had the power to change.

Winter got a response from Blue that made his jaw drop.

[Text me again and I’ll block you.]

They were too early in their relationship for this kind of thing! Did Blue have no chills at all?? Winter had no idea what to do. He was afraid of seriously angering Blue, but he wanted to show his little Omega that he was being sincere.

He really didn’t mean to strike a nerve. But he didn’t know anything, did he?!

Blue was fully aware of this fact. No one actually knew the extent of discord he had with Preston and his brothers so they wouldn’t understand why he exploded.

No one would understand his hatred or his pain or his anger. All people saw was his bad attitude towards the Kent family and assumed the worst. Why wouldn’t they? The Kent family, to the outside world, was an unshakeable pillar.

An unconquerable wall that struck fear in the eyes of anyone who came near it. Everyone believed in the tightness and superiority of the family. Everyone believed in the head of the family, Preston Kent. Believed that he was a strict but just man.

Believed in Atlas to be a responsible and powerful man. Believed in Eliot to be wild but strong. They were such shining stars in their career, who would believe that they were all truly worse than scum?

Blue tried to stop thinking about his conversation with Winter and Preston’s death while he was on the way to his house.

Upon stepping into his apartment, a sigh escaped from Blue’s mouth. His own house had begun to feel unfamiliar to him. This was because he had been spending less and less time here.

His things were not even hanging around that much. Unlike before when there would be a pile of trash here, a piece of cloth hanging there, shoes there; everything just used to be a mess of everything.

Blue walked into the house and collapsed onto the long couch. He checked his phone and saw that Winter hadn’t sent him any new messages after his threat. Blue was a bit disappointed by this.

Yes, he’d threatened Winter that if he texted again he would block him, but that was just a threat! He didn’t really mean it!

He had just been annoyed at the time. Now, he was tired of being angry. He wanted to be held.

After tasting the benefits that being in a relationship brought, Blue was addicted. Every time, he was always being cuddled, kissed, played with, or even annoyed by Winter. And it was fun.

It cured the loneliness that he never knew he had. Now that Blue was back in his house, he could only say that he missed Winter.

Was this what Winter meant when he said that Blue was clingy? He couldn’t even go a full hour without wanting to be near Winter. It was annoying how dependent on Winter he’d become, even without noticing it.

Blue picked up his phone to dial Winter’s number, but stopped himself before completing the action.

What was wrong with him?! Why couldn’t he stay on his own!? Even though they were dating, it didn’t mean they had to spend every passing second with each other.

"You’re your own person." Blue reminded himself.

Even though Blue could manage and stay on his own, Winter’s body had itched him so much that he could only leave the house in search of Blue. The first place he went to check was Blue’s own apartment.

Winter had learnt to always begin his search for Blue there. By the time Winter reached his place, Blue had already been sleeping. Since he was lonely, what else could he do but sleep?

And before doing this, he had forgotten to lock the doors. It was relatively easy for Winter to get into Blue’s house. He was also annoyed.

"When is this fool going to learn his lesson?" Winter asked himself, seeing Blue sleeping soundly on his couch.

Winter walked up to Blue. He didn’t even have to lift a finger before Blue opened his eyes. Remembering what happened the last time, Winter distanced himself from Blue after realizing that he was awake.

"What are you doing here?" Blue’s voice didn’t carry hatred or anger when he saw Winter standing inside his house.

"I came to see you. I shouldn’t have assumed things and gotten you mad." Winter spoke with an apologetic tone.

Still lying down, Blue said, "I wasn’t mad."

It was a blatant lie but Winter didn’t have the courage to call him out on it. So he nodded his head.

"I’ll try to see things from your perspective first before saying nonsense in the future." Winter said dutifully, causing Blue to chuckle a bit.

Making up was relatively easy after that, thanks to Winter admitting that he was a fool who didn’t think before speaking.

"So that concludes our first couple’s fight..." Winter suddenly said after the two of them made up and were in each other’s embrace.

Blue had to look at Winter with a frown on his face after hearing those words.

"What? Isn’t that the truth?" Winter defended himself.

Blue rolled his eyes. He didn’t consider this a fight. It was more like a disagreement. If they were to have a real couple’s fight in the sense that Blue would get really angry and annoyed, Winter would not escape without a bruised face and body.

He hadn’t done anything to Winter this time because he wasn’t that much annoyed. But come another unfortunate day... Winter would definitely get his fair share of a good beating for doing nonsense.

Moving on from Preston’s death was only easy for Blue and Winter. The rest of the world had been in a serious mourning state. Preston Kent was a national treasure. A lot of people were concerned about his well-being. Just the way they had been concerned about his retirement.

Atlas and Eliot had to release the information that Preston had been dealing with cancer all this time. This boosted the man’s standing as people began to praise him for working even while battling with cancer.

While all of this was happening, Winter and Blue were busy on their first official date. Though Winter had deluded himself multiple times that he had been on three dates with Blue before, Blue took this as their first.

The reason for the date was simple—to cheer Blue up. And for this, Winter rented out a fancy restaurant that was surprisingly not under his family’s jurisdiction.

Blue made an effort to look good for the date, wearing long pants and a pressed shirt. It would seem like Winter didn’t make any effort because he always dressed to impress every other day.

But he actually did today. By wearing a brand new wristwatch series that he had planned to launch for a super important event. This meant that he took their date as a super important event.

The two of them were directed to the center of the empty restaurant. They both settled down under the beautifully dim light. The restaurant was Victorian-themed, explaining why the glasses were exquisitely made as well as the ceiling, pillars, and chairs.

But Blue wasn’t paying attention to any of these details. He just wanted to be with Winter. And the same thing worked the other way around.

The two of them had grown so immersed in each other and lost sight of what they shouldn’t have lost sight of.
