Shades of Blue (Omegaverse BL) -
Chapter 43 - 41 | Heat Room
Chapter 43: 41 | Heat Room
On the day of Blue’s eighteenth birthday, he attempted s*icide. The previous day was the second day of his heat cycle.
On the first day of that particular heat cycle, he had refused his father’s orders—which was to spend his cycle in the Heat Room.
After Preston Kent, Blue’s father, realized that a Dominant Omega could lose their Dominance without proper care from an Alpha, he designed the Heat Room in the basement of the Kent House.
The room’s purpose was specified in its name. It was a room wherein Blue would pass through his heat. As for Eliot and Atlas, they were both Alphas. They could go out into the world and spend their rut with any lucky Omega they found attractive.
As for Blue, he was thought to be a weak Omega, who would dare send him out during his heat?
And so, Preston arranged for Blue to receive temporary marks from different Alphas he thought were worthy during every single heat cycle of Blue’s.
No matter how hard Blue had tried to stop it from happening, no matter how much he begged the Alphas that were always sent to him, none of them spared him.
In fact, some had even forgotten that they only had to give a temporary mark to Blue. Some would go further to spend his heat cycle the natural way—through sex. And during all of this, he was not yet an adult.
Blue had received temporary marks from over forty Alphas, yet, all of them were the same. All of them proved they were truly Alphas to the core.
On that particular heat cycle before his birthday, Blue had run away from home after finally venting to his father that he didn’t want to go through his heat in the Heat Room ever again.
Preston had, of course, raised a hand against him. However, Blue had dodged and kicked his father, then ran away.
At the time, Blue had been proud of himself for being able to stand up to his father and leave the Kent house. But reality dawned on him soon after he realized that an Omega who was in heat in public was nothing more than a prey.
Blue was never able to remember how he had spent that day until he stumbled upon a small seafood restaurant in the outskirts of the city at night.
Maybe five to ten Alphas had tried to get their way with him and were almost successful, but Blue made it to safety in the seafood place. A place that was run by an old female Beta.
She had helped Blue with suppressants and a place to stay for the night. However, Blue was just a kid at the time. The fact that he was an Omega had truly sunk into him that time. It was like being splashed with a bucket of cold water.
Back in the Kent House, he only had to bear a temporary mark from an Alpha. Outside of it, everyone wanted to ruin his body to their satisfaction.
Blue couldn’t decide which one was better. He was scared to return to the Kent family. He was also scared to make a place for himself outside the Kent house. The two paths were both terrible.
And so, Blue had decided to choose neither. After crying himself to sleep that night, he walked out of the seafood place, forgetting to even thank the old woman who had accommodated him.
Blue had walked into the sea and was ready to drown to death. He had already been sinking down into the sea, gasping for air, and suffocating to death. All of a sudden, a hand had reached out to him and pulled him out of the water.
So many people had surrounded him, doing their best to save him. Blue had not known any of these people, yet, they had cared about his miserable self and strained themselves to save him.
The act of kindness done by those people was the only reason why Blue was alive at the current moment. Blue returned to the seafood restaurant and apologized to the old woman for leaving without informing her after she had helped him.
She was, of course, forgiving. Not everyone was like the people in the Kent family who couldn’t understand apologies and sense emotions.
From then on, Blue began to work in that very restaurant. He was given a small storage room to stay. He worked in the restaurant during the day, and wrote at night.
The idea of ’How to be a Perfect Omega’ inspired Blue’s self. With his main character, Milo Mikaelson, Blue had created an alter ego of himself. The more Blue wrote about Milo, the more he became Milo.
Milo was elegant, bold, bitter, and snobbish. Blue, who had been weak, timid, and optimistic, began to change. He began to perfect Milo’s character. But he never fully became Milo.
Milo was a Recessive Omega—the best type of Omega in Blue’s opinion. However, Blue was a Dominant Omega. And being that ruined all of his chances of ever being a perfect Omega.
With his recessive traits, Milo was never assaulted by Alpha pheromones. He never felt insecure by sensing his own pheromones. He could live a good life without anyone ever knowing he was an Omega, unless he wanted them to know.
Blue had been trying to get rid of his dominance for years after realizing that being a Dominant Alpha was nothing more than disability.
Other than that particular area, one could say that Blue was a perfect Omega by his own standards. Blue was always the first to call out people for faking and pretending, however, he had been living a pretend life for so long that he could hardly remember who his true self was.
Blue hoped to remember himself before Milo; himself before becoming someone that no one ever had anything positive to say about.
And for that, he had to return to the Kent house. It was the place where he was the most true to himself. Where he never lied to himself, but was always optimistic and believed that the hard times would change for the better.
Blue wanted to go back to that place to face the root of his problems and reinvent/mold the old him into a better version.
Blue decided that this time, he was going to save his own self.
