Chapter 41: 39 | Blue’s House

Winter was in a good mood. His exams were over, his schedule was free, and he had a date with Blue (It was not a date)! Over the past few weeks after the two of them agreed to be ’friends’, Blue had really begun to treat him like a friend.

And every time Blue would mistakenly bring up the fact that he was Alpha and would try to use that fact to judge him, Blue would stop himself midway and apologize. Winter was very happy with the turnout of the things.

However, he still hadn’t found a way to lure Blue into bed. Even though they were now ’friends’, they were just that. And nothing else. Blue never took a step further from the level they were on.

And Winter found it difficult to take a step further, too. It seemed like when Blue was involved, Winter’s rizz game slid down to zero and he became an uncool human who made dumb jokes.

Currently, Winter was almost at Adam’s building for his and Blue’s date. He suddenly got a text while in traffic. Usually, Winter never checked his phone while driving, but there was an unusual feeling within him today that got him to pick up his phone after receiving the text to check.

Winter’s eyes widened when he saw that it was a text from Blue that was pasted on his display screen. He wasted no time to check the message.

[Adam’s place isn’t available today. Come to mine. This is the address.]

Below the text was a live location of Blue’s place. Winter almost fainted.

He was truly the darling of the heavens! That was the only explanation to why he was always so lucky and didn’t have to lift a finger in serious cases!

The red traffic light switched to amber, then green. Winter didn’t waste any time before swerving in the direction of Blue’s house. He was only a thread away from breaking the speed rules.

Winter reached Blue’s live location in less than five minutes. Blue lived in an average ten-storey building and was supposed to be on the sixth floor. As Winter parked his car, he wondered if Blue was facing financial issues.

However, he stopped himself from thinking about it. Blue’s father was famous, so were his brothers, so was Blue himself. If Blue wanted to, he could easily afford a luxury penthouse.

What was he doing in such a building?

Winter used the elevator to get to the sixth floor and his toes were almost bouncing with excitement by the time the elevator reached his destination with a ding sound.

After stepping out from the elevator, Winter navigated himself through the hall and got to Blue’s door.

’Be still, heart.’ Winter said to himself as he tapped on his chest.

This was just Blue’s house. It was not like he was visiting the president’s place. He needed to calm the fuck down.

In and out. In and out. In and out.

Winter took three deep breaths and was finally able to calm down a little bit. As he reached to knock on the door, it opened up by itself.

Winter looked at Blue who was on the other side of the door, talking to someone on the phone, wearing a yellow two-piece short-sleeved hoodie and shorts.

Winter had noticed that Blue liked to wear shorts more than an average person.

Blue didn’t directly speak to Winter, only widening the door and gesturing for him to step inside.

"I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again, fuck him. I don’t care if he lives or dies. In fact, let me scratch that. I do care if he dies. Because finally, with him gone, I’ll achieve peace and freedom." Blue was speaking to someone on the phone and Winter’s jaw almost dropped at the drama he had just seemed to walk into.

Winter’s eyes followed Blue as the latter walked over to the kitchen of the shoebox-like flat and left him in the living room.

"I’d rather die than return to that house." Blue said with a mocking laugh.

Winter slowly dropped on a chair, forgetting to admire the decor of Blue’s home as he shamelessly eavesdropped on Blue’s conversation with the person on the other side of the phone.

Winter had deduced that Blue was probably talking to his brother about his childhood home and father. Deducing that made things more interesting to him. It looked to him that Blue had a terrible relationship with his family.

Maybe even worse than he thought. Winter was slightly pleased with this fact. To be honest, he had been a bit afraid of Blue’s brothers showing up at his house and beating him to a pulp the time that he would finally throw Blue away like a piece of trash.

Now, he was rest assured that was unlikely to happen. He could even go the extra mile with Blue that he had been skeptical about taking previously.

"I don’t want to hear anything anymore. Call me again, and I might sue you for harassment." Blue said in finality and terminated the call.

Winter quickly looked away from him to appear innocent of eavesdropping, his eyes setting on the center table that was littered with several papers.

Winter looked at the papers as though he was looking at his future. Blue muttered something about showering first and Winter nodded, his eyes still fixed on the papers as he took one into his hand.

He read it and discovered the papers were written manuscripts of a novel. Winter already knew Blue’s handwriting by heart so he could tell that this was someone else’s novel.

And Blue was probably reviewing it. With a pencil; canceling out words, circling unnecessary things, adding minus points to some paragraphs and plus points to others.

His review was looking like a lecturer grading an exam script. But it didn’t look negatively biased or like he was being unnecessarily wicked with the review/grading.

It was crazy how Blue must be taking his time to review shit like this only to get backlash for it another day as though he was some evil overlord.

Winter tsk-ed and placed the paper back on the table, relaxing into his chair.

If there was a way, he would help Blue with his reputation. It was much too terrible. Blue was just a heavily guarded and defensive person. He wasn’t a snub or an evil witch.

It was sad that most people thought him to be a villain. When, in fact, Winter was the biggest villain, himself.
