Chapter 160: Special Chapter 5

"They told me you refused to eat again."

Atlas towered over Blue who was sitting on a wheelchair, staring out the window with immense focus. And outside the window was just a tree. So Atlas was a bit unclear as to why Blue was fixated on the tree.

"If you don’t eat, how’re you going to get better? I brought a bowl of congee with me." Atlas moved to drag Blue’s chair away from the window.

Blue didn’t protest that his personal time was being interrupted. In fact, staring at him, one would think that he wasn’t even aware of his personal time being interrupted.

He had a lost expression in his eyes, indicating that everything going on around him wasn’t his concern.

Atlas grabbed a nearby chair and sat across from Blue.

Ever since Blue was discharged from the hospital and checked into this particular nursing home, he had been living like a piece of rock—according to Atlas.

Back at the hospital, at least he would cry out every time, sobbing into his pillow. Now, he didn’t cry. He just behaved as though he was tired of living, not making any attempt to get better.

The doctor said that he was dealing with trauma and would need all the love he could get, but what could Atlas do to make Blue feel loved?

He tried spending time with him, giving him updates about the outside words, attempting to play games with him. But there has never been any reaction from Blue.

His indifference was eating him alive. And Atlas didn’t know what to do.

"Come on, open your mouth. There’s a ton of meat in the congee," Atlas said as he held a spoonful of congee close to Blue’s mouth.

Blue didn’t open up.

"The food is still hot. If you don’t eat now, it’s going to get cold and–"

"I want to go outside."

Blue’s voice was low, almost inaudible. It took a moment for Atlas to realize that Blue had interrupted him.

"We can’t leave the nursing home until you get better," Atlas gently turned down Blue’s request.

"I want to go outside," he repeated again. "Of this room," Blue thought to add.

"Oh," Atlas said in realization and leaned back into his chair. He put the spoon into the bowl and gave Blue’s request a thought.

"I’ll go ask the nurses if I can take you outside, okay?" Atlas said to Blue.

Blue didn’t smile nor did a grateful look flash in his expression.

"Alright, now time to eat." Atlas didn’t let Blue off the hook, forcing him to eat.

After managing to get Blue to take three spoons in two hours, Atlas decided to call it a day. Maybe it was because he was the one feeding Blue which was why Blue refused to eat.

Next time, he would have Adam come around instead. Apart from himself and Eliot, Adam was the only one Atlas let visit Blue.

But even with that, some days, he’d catch a glimpse of the bastard who made his brother like this, peeping from afar. Atlas’ plan was to one day catch him in the act and beat him up to his satisfaction.

Yes, by permanently marking Blue, he saved Blue’s life, but now the life that he saved was in such a state that the owner preferred he hadn’t been saved.

Not to talk of the fact that their nephew, the little bundle of joy that was supposed to fix everything, was no more.

Him and the others hadn’t even gotten the time to mourn the baby and have had to focus their attention on Blue because he was the one holding the most grief.

Atlas left Blue with much thought and went straight to ask the people in charge if they could let Blue step outside, even if it was just for a stroll around the nursing home.

They actually didn’t have any qualms about it and even encouraged it, hoping that it even became a regular thing.

Once Atlas was clear about that, he phoned Adam to tell him. This was because he knew that if he or Eliot were to be the ones accompanying Blue outside, he probably wouldn’t have as much fun with them as he would with Adam.

Adam was happy that there was at least some progress with Blue and he was actually willing to do something. He quickly left his house and headed straight for the nursing home.

A little bit over an hour, Adam was standing in front of Blue’s door and knocking for permission to come in. Of course, he wouldn’t get it verbally and only knocked for courtesy purposes before letting himself in.

Blue was once again sitting and facing the window. Adam’s heart melted in sadness.

"Blue... hi," he spoke cautiously as he took steps deeper into the room.

Surprisingly, Blue turned around to look at Adam. He didn’t welcome him though. He just glanced and turned back around.

Adam felt a little hurt at the gesture but could understand where Blue was coming from. When he reached Blue, he said, "I heard you wanted to go outside. The nurses have given us permission, so how about a stroll?"

Blue didn’t respond.

"Well, we have an hour and half, so let’s get going." Adam kept a cheerful tone.

Since Blue was sitting on a wheelchair, Adam grabbed the handles and began to navigate Blue out of the room.

"Something really big happened yesterday. I was just going through social media and I saw it. Do you wanna guess the scoop?" Adam tried to converse with Blue as they went down the hallway.

Blue still didn’t respond.

"It’s about Adonis. Remember him? The actor who used to bother you. Well, he’s bothering someone else now in the set that he’s working on now. Hehe." Adam let out a chuckle towards the end of his statement.

Blue did not appear to be amused by his words, but Adam kept on going, hoping that even if Blue wasn’t reacting, he was understanding. And that counted for something.

Soon enough, they were outside of the building. The afternoon sun was a bit too bright. Luckily, Adam came prepared with hats that he and Blue were able to put on.

"Alright, where do you wanna go first?" Adam asked Blue, now that they were out in the open.

It was clear that Blue wouldn’t know where to go first, so Adam took the liberty to suggest an area.

Just as he opened his mouth to speak, Blue stood up. His eyes fixated on something that was up ahead.

"Hey, where are you..." Adam trailed off as Blue ran past him in a hurry.

It took a second for Adam to grasp the entire situation as he turned around to chase after Blue, but stopped when he saw that Blue had stopped as well.
