Chapter 158: Special Chapter 3
White ceiling. White lights.
Those were the first things Blue saw, opening his eyes that felt like there were weights placed on them. His entire body felt heavy. He couldn’t even lift a finger; opening his eyes was a miracle.
He tried to shift his neck to look at his surroundings, and with great difficulty, he was only able to move a little. He saw that his hand was connected to an IV.
He’d had an inkling that he was at the hospital from the ceiling and the smell of his surrounding, but seeing the IV really made him believe that he was here.
Just as he wondered why, memories came flooding into his head with no warning.
He’d caught Winter cheating on him. And he’d gotten into an accident. Because of Winter.
Blue immediately grew furious. And depressed.
He was seriously angry at Winter for having the audacity to cheat on him when he was pregnant. How could Winter be so cruel?
And the fact that he didn’t hate Winter for it was even more infuriating. It wasn’t a wonder to Blue that Winter would eventually grow tired of him, but to chase after his first love in secret was a wicked move.
Blue had always known he wasn’t perfect for Winter. He didn’t match with Winter at all. But Winter had been deceiving him and letting him make a fool of himself by always assuring him that there was nothing wrong with him or their relationship.
When truly, there were a lot of things wrong with their relationship. Starting from the fact that Winter didn’t love him.
Just as Blue had that thought, a nurse walked into the room. She greeted him and checked his vitals.
Seeing that nothing was out of place, she said, "Your family and friends would like to see you. Should I send them in?"
’What family and friends?’ Blue thought bitterly with a scowl on his face.
"Help me sit up," he directly ignored the nurse’s question and demanded her aid.
The nurse helped him into a sitting position and asked once again, "Would you like to see your family and friends? They’re all really worried about you and haven’t left the hospital since you came."
"How long have I been out?" Blue questioned, glancing to the side. He could tell that it was dark outside from the window blinds.
"Five days."
Blue suddenly turned to face the nurse, his eyes widening with surprise. "Five days??"
"Yes, after the surgery and finally getting stabilized, you didn’t wake up. So we had to wait and see how things turned out." The nurse explained.
"Oh," Blue said, nodding his head. "The surgery?" he suddenly questioned, picking out that word.
"I..." The nurse suddenly stopped speaking, leaving words unsaid with a guilty expression on her face.
Blue picked up this odd behavior immediately and asked, "You what?"
"I... I- um. I’ll send in your family." The nurse said, then scurried out of the room without explaining her behavior.
Blue stared at the door with a frown on his face. What kind of crazy nurse was that? Acting like this was her first time dealing with a patient.
Blue’s mood became sour. He was already dealing with his depressing thoughts, now that silly nurse had come and–
"Y-You’re awake..." A soft voice spoke up.
Winter’s head poked out of the door before his full body came to view as he walked into the room.
Blue’s face immediately turned blank. He’d forgotten to fix in a furious or sad expression as Winter walked into the room cautiously.
He observed Winter without saying anything at first, quickly picking up the fact that something was off with him. Not only was the always perfect-looking Winter dressed in a pair of casual sweats, there was also a stubble growing on his chin.
His hair was standing in every direction. And around his swollen eyes were dark, heavy bags. The whites of his eyes were reddened and Blue couldn’t help but be shocked at this version of Winter standing in front of him.
The Winter he knew was always put together, no matter the situation. But the Winter standing in front of him looked like he had almost given up on life.
"I... I’m so happy that you’re awake. Do you want some water?" Winter spoke cautiously, not daring to go too close to Blue or say nonsense in excitement.
"Heh," an almost inaudible sneer escaped from Blue’s mouth. "You really have guts. Stepping in here and offering me water. I feel like strangling you to death." Blue said with an icy look in his eyes.
Winter visibly flinched at Blue’s sharp words, tears suddenly gathering in his eyes.
"I’m sorry. I know I shouldn’t have come. I just wanted to see you. Let me stay with you for a little while. Please." Winter spoke too gently and acted too carefully, almost as if he was afraid of upsetting Blue with his words and actions.
Blue was surprised to see Winter almost crying. He’d just said a few words and the fool had already broken down. Blue was angry. He was the one who was cheated on and met an accident, he should be the one crying, not Winter!
"Who are you crying those crocodile tears for? If I hadn’t caught you in the act, you’d have continued to fool me, deceiving me that you were in love with me but playing around with your ex. You’re the most disgusting man in the world!" Blue didn’t hold back at all, venting his anger on Winter.
He didn’t expect that Winter would stop crying, wipe his cheeks, and look at him with a confused expression on his face.
"Cheat on you? I’d rather kill myself." Winter spoke with no hesitation.
"Then kill yourself." Blue said with an indifferent tone, turning his head away.
"Alright." Winter said.
Blue pretended not to hear him. Only to see Winter walking towards the closed Winter and raising the blinds. Blue watched Winter with creased brows.
Winter slid the window open and was putting his foot out when Blue realized what he was doing.
"Are you insane!? What are you doing?!" Blue yelled.
Winter didn’t retract his leg. He only glanced at Blue and said with a solemn expression, "We’re on the seventh floor. It’s okay."
"What’s okay? You lunatic! Get away from that window before I kill you myself!" Blue exerted all his energy to yell at Winter.
It was only then that Winter retracted his leg and stepped away from the window. Blue thought that Winter had come to his senses.
Once again, Winter did something unexpected as he got down on his knees by the side of his bed and pressed his palms together.
"I’m sorry. I’m really sorry. I know that I deserve death. I know that I shouldn’t even be breathing. But please, forgive me. Forgive me. I beg you." Winter pleaded miserably, the tears returning to his face.
"For what?" Blue asked.
"For ruining everything." Winter sobbed.
