Chapter 143: 141 | No Response

Blue would only know the answer to his question if he had the courage to ask Winter face to face. Where would be find such courage from? He had no idea.

Blue was suddenly no longer in the mood to rest his head or pretend like he didn’t have problems. As he forced himself up from bed, a strong wave of nausea set in and he was forced to puke.

Morning sickness, his greatest enemy, conquered him for the millionth time.

Once Blue was done, he washed his mouth and took off his clothes to bathe. Before he got under the shower, he stood in front of his bathroom mirror to view stomach.

His stomach now had a clear bump. Blue poked at his belly. There was no response. Obviously because it wasn’t yet time for him to deal with Winter Junior’s movement.

But he could still feel that there was a life inside him. He could remember the doctor saying something like experiencing intense mood swings because of his pheromone disorder while pregnant, and he wondered when it’d begin to happen.

Blue also took the time to stare at figure as a whole from the mirror. His face was a bit chubbier. His arms didn’t have any noticeable changes in size. It was mostly just his face and stomach that had grown fat.

Blue estimated that in two to three months, he’d hardly be able to make out his collarbone. It wasn’t like he ate or craved fatty foods a lot.

His eating schedule was still normal. How come he was already adding weight?

"Pregnancy..." Blue answered his own dumb question.

He didn’t know why he was caring about his weight when he had so many other things to address. Blue flicked himself and went to bathe.

He came out quickly and changed into comfy clothes. He was already hungry by this time. Luckily, there were leftovers in his fridge—courtesy of Winter who believed Blue would rather starve himself than cook when he was hungry.

Blue warmed up some food and began to eat, all while doing the one thing he was advised by the doctor not to—overthink.

He had said it was his favorite hobby. It was impossible to part with it.

Especially at this time when there was so much to think about. After eating, Blue felt like going to talk to Kendall again. He could still remember the last thing Kendall said to him the prior night before he returned to his own apartment.

’I don’t think you should think too much about what Winter did to me. It was a long time ago. And he regrets it. You can be rest assured that he wouldn’t do the same thing to you.’

Blue hadn’t thought much about Kendall’s parting words because he had been in over his head that time.

Now that he was relatively much clearheaded, Blue wondered, "How would Kendall know if Winter regrets his actions?"

Kendall didn’t say anything about them interacting or getting closure after everything happened. He also mentioned that he hadn’t seen or heard from Winter all these years.

Blue was sure that the two of them only reunited that day when Kendall came around and met Winter in his house.

Did they... Did they meet up again after that? And if they did, why would Kendall not mention it to him?

Because of this sudden line of thinking, Blue was attacked with a new wave of fears and doubts.

Blue rushed out of his apartment and went across the hallway to knock on Kendall’s door.

There was no response. Which meant that Kendall was probably not at home.

"Fuck!" Blue hissed, tempted to hit something.

Just as he was about to return to his apartment, Blue remembered something. Kendall had once mentioned to him that he spent most of his time at that café they both once went to together.

He should be there now, shouldn’t he? Blue thought.

Before taking the next step, Blue sent Kendall a text asking him where he was. Kendall didn’t respond. He also tried to call Kendall—twice. But no response.

"Maybe his phone’s on silent," Blue thought to himself.

Then he grabbed a coat and left his building. Unlike when he’d been with Kendall that other time and they’d gotten to the building in a few minutes, the walk was much longer now that Blue was by himself.

Blue reached the café and stood at the door from the inside, using his eyes to scout for Kendall. The place wasn’t really crowded so it didn’t take much time for Blue to find Kendall seated on a small round table by the wall.

Blue was already walking towards Kendall but halted on his track when he realized that the shade of hair of the person seated across Kendall was somewhat familiar. Same as their shoulder and posture.

’Winter...?’ Blue thought to himself.

Why was Winter here? Blue narrowed his eyes at the two people seated on the table. Winter was supposed to be working, wasn’t he? What was he doing here having coffee with Kendall?

Kendall hadn’t spotted Blue yet and looked engrossed in his conversation with Winter, smiling and shaking his head in amusement from time to time.

Blue wanted to go closer to them to eavesdrop on their oh so entertaining conversation. But he couldn’t.

Not when he saw Winter extend his hand and caress one side of Kendall’s face.

What was this? What was going on? Why was Winter... touching him? So intimately like that?

Blue’s fists clenched and his breathing quickened.

Winter had not only lied to him once again, he was with his ex whom he seemed to have a serious past with and was now touching him intimately.

What did it mean?

’What do you think it means?’ A bitter voice questioned in Blue’s head.

Kendall placed his hand over Winter’s hand on his face and his eyes seemed to water with compassion.

Blue didn’t know when he’d begun to take steps backwards until he bumped into someone from behind. It was a waitress.

She looked at him expecting an apology but she didn’t get it as Blue rushed out of the café, suddenly unable to breathe properly inside it. He ran to the nearest alleyway and stopped, cupping his knees.

Blue could hear the sound of his own heart beating loud and clear in his head. He could also feel a weight pressing down on his chest.

The back of his neck began to itch furiously, overwhelming the feeling in his chest.

"Hah, hah, hah, hah," Blue tried to breathe but with great difficulty.

His vision of the ground below him became blurry as tears clouded his vision.

Winter was... cheating on him.
