Chapter 139 - 137 | Just Like Blue
Chapter 139: 137 | Just Like Blue
Winter zoomed into Kendall’s picture. It was clear that the omega had grown well. His cheekbones were high and his chin was small. His eyes had settled for a hazel color.
Winter’s stomach coiled as he stared at the picture.
In his life, he’d done a lot of wrong things. A lot of bad things to a lot of people. And he moved on from them guilt-free, convincing himself that the world was an unfair place, and he was just helping out to balance the bad side properly.
But any time Winter thought of Kendall, that guilt surfaced. Images of a teary-faced Kendall emerged in his mind and it was hard to get rid of them.
Winter had managed to suppress these memories well over the years, but seeing Kendall the other day brought them all back. It brought him back to his reality. His cruel reality.
"Fuck, I’m such an asshole..." Winter cussed himself out, remembering the things that he’d done in his youth.
He tried to imagine if someone did those things to his own child. Imagine if Winter Junior turned out to be an omega and some scum alpha—like himself—used Winter Junior and discarded him like trash. Break Winter Junior’s heart because he was in the mood and totally destroy his mental health.
Winter was terrified of such a thing. If karma was truly real and it got to him, Winter would be horrified. He couldn’t... He couldn’t live with himself now, fully relaxed about his past actions.
That was why he had begun to meet up with his exes—past preys—to seek their forgiveness and closure. It wasn’t very hard to locate them as they were all adults in established areas of specialization now.
He had about ten of them. He’d met up with three and had messaged six. Two of his meetups were relatively okay if one looked at it from a certain angle. The omegas were doing okay despite despising him in their heart.
That could count as a win, couldn’t it? The other one had stood him up. Among the six people he had messaged, two had gotten back to him and they’d been able to clear the air.
Winter was the only one in the wrong so clearing the air meant them forgiving him for his cruelty. The other four people hadn’t responded to his message.
Winter guessed they were ignoring him. The last person, however...
Winter could only stare at his picture, too afraid to take a step forward. Winter’s chest burned as he went through Kendall’s social media.
It was almost like Blue’s own. Meaning that there was hardly any info on it. Winter didn’t know what to make of Kendall’s current state.
He was currently Blue’s neighbor in that silly building. Was Kendall not doing well for himself? Winter had thought. He also had the thought that Kendall might have just liked the apartment despite its size, just like Blue.
Fuck. Winter realized that at the end of almost every thought he had about Kendall, there was always a comparison to Blue. Just like Blue, almost like Blue.
He wasn’t trying to compare them, really. He was just...
"What am I even doing?" Winter asked himself.
The screen pointer was resting on the ’message’ option in Kendall’s profile. Kendall was in his past. Just like the other people. So why was his own case different?
It shouldn’t be. He shouldn’t allow it to be.
Winter tapped the message option and typed out a paragraph, introducing himself and asking Kendall to meet up with him so they could discuss matters.
Kendall probably wasn’t online as he did not respond to the message immediately or even five minutes afterwards.
Winter shut his laptop with a sigh. He silently hoped that he’d be able to get closure with Kendall as his existence was the cause of it all.

Blue knocked on the door across the hall. It was almost midnight and probably rude of him to be disturbing another person’s peace by this time of the day just because he, himself, wasn’t at peace.
However, the person being disturbed didn’t take up to ten seconds before they opened the knocked door.
Blue was standing on the outside, wearing a blue silky two-piece pyjama. On the other side was Kendall who was wrapped up in a long cotton robe. His face was covered in serum and his hair was divided into two tiny pigtails.
"Blue?" Kendall said in doubt, surprised by the identity of his sudden guest.
"Yeah, hi. Can I come in?" Blue’s eyes darted all around the place, showing that he was uncomfortable in one way.
Kendall noticed this immediately and kindly said, "Sure. Come in."
If it were to be the other way around, Blue would definitely not invite Kendall into his home in the middle of the night. Thankfully, in this situation, it was not the other way around.
Blue stepped into Kendall’s place and didn’t take the time to admire the cozy decor of the house. He only found a place to sit and mentally prepared himself for what he was about to do.
"Would you like some tea or..."
"I’m fine," Blue said as Kendall trailed off, already walking towards the kitchen.
"Oh, okay then," Kendall turned around, "Are you alright?"
His tone carried a hint of concern as he watched Blue visibly shrink into himself in the chair that he was sitting down on.
The words, ’I’m fine’, almost slipped out from Blue’s mouth as it was his constant response to those kinds of questions. But this time, he didn’t make use of them.
"No, not really," Blue admitted, his gaze was fixed on his lap as his fists clenched and unclenched on either side.
"I... Does it have something to do with you?" Kendall approached the matter delicately as he settled down across from Blue.
Blue nodded without a verbal response.
Several thoughts went through Kendall’s mind at that moment. He was about to apologize for making Blue feel not okay when Blue spoke up.
"It’s just that- fuck, this might sound very foolish, I know, but I have some questions things to ask you... about Winter." Blue’s volume dropped as he spoke.
Kendall’s expression didn’t change too much as he was already expecting Blue’s words.
"It’s fine. You can ask," Kendall said, trying to maintain his composure despite the uncomfortable coiling in his stomach.
"Do you like Winter?"
