Shades of Blue (Omegaverse BL) -
Chapter 131 - 129 | Just Like You
Chapter 131: 129 | Just Like You
"Who told you?" Blue asked his brothers with narrowed eyes.
"That shouldn’t really matter. The fact is that we already know. And how could you keep such important information away from us? We’re still family." Atlas reasoned with a serious tone.
Blue scoffed. "Family? Can you still not get it into your head that I want nothing to do with you people!?"
"Calm down," Eliot rose up from his seat to speak gently. "We’re not here to fight. As we said before, we brought gifts for our nephew. Have a look at them."
Eliot was trying to do damage control as he picked up a small box and handed it to Blue. With anger coursing through his bloodstream, Blue slapped the box out of Eliot’s hand, and it landed on the ground with a crack sound.
"Fucking get that away from me!" he said.
Eliot did not react angrily. But his jaw did tick. He bent down and picked the box from the floor.
He unwrapped it in front of Blue to reveal a pink glass feeding bottle that had cracked.
"This one was for if the child turned out to be an omega. There’s another green one somewhere around here." Atlas stood up to his feet as he said this.
Blue’s stomach coiled with discomfort. "All of this is for the child?"
He looked at the many boxes occupying the space of his apartment.
"Hm. From bottles to clothes to toys. Just the bare necessities. When the child comes out, we’ll get more things. I promise." Atlas said.
With every word that he spoke, Blue’s fists clenched and unclenched. How could they? Did they think that they could have a bad relationship with him but be good uncles in the eyes of his baby?
No way. Hell would have to freeze over before Blue would allow such a thing to happen.
"I’m going to be honest with you. The second the two of you walk out that door, I’m packing all of this shit and throwing them away." Blue said with a sharp voice, looking at his brothers coldly.
"We know. We’ll get more tomorrow–"
"WHY!?" Blue cut into Eliot’s words.
"Because we care, Blue. Simple. You might not believe us, but we care. Not just about the baby, but about you too. We might not be the best at expressing our emotions, just like you, but we’re trying!" Eliot exclaimed.
"What do you mean, just like you? I’m nothing like you two!" Blue refuted Eliot’s words.
Atlas shook his head and said, "We all grew up under the same roof. The same father, the same schedule, the same teaching. We’re all the same."
Atlas emphasized on his last words like he was trying to open Blue’s eyes to see something. However, Blue’s eyes were closed to whatever Atlas was trying to show him.
"I am not fucking like you. And I am tired of putting up with the two of you. Would it be so hard to pretend like I don’t exist? Just the way you used to?" Blue spoke with an exhausted tone.
There was a particular time in his life before he ran away from the Kent house, Blue did not set eyes on his brothers for the longest time. And each time he even managed to cross paths with them, they would ignore him.
At that time, Blue didn’t even know which was more painful—to have his brothers ignore him or to have them control him with their pheromones.
"Blue, we–"
Eliot was about to say something when Atlas placed a hand on his shoulder and looked at him oddly. Eliot shut his mouth instantly.
Atlas turned to Blue and said, "You’re young, unmarried, and pregnant. Even if you hate us with passion, we won’t leave you alone. We’ll always be here for you. Whether you like it or not. That’s what family is for."
Blue rolled his eyes at those words.
"You can go now," he said to them with a frown on his face.
Eliot nodded and put away the broken gift. Afterwards, he and Atlas walked past Blue, already showing themselves to the door. Blue didn’t spare them a glance until he heard the door open and close.
When he turned around, they were already gone. He let out a sigh of relief and walked over to the door to lock it. He rested his back against the door for a moment to catch his breath.
He hated those two. Atlas was right. He hated them with passion. Nothing they would say or do would ever change the way he felt about them. The way they had made him feel in the past was unforgettable.
No matter what they tried to do now, nothing would absolve them of the sins they committed against him.
Not even trying to show that they ’cared’ about him now.
Blue went to sit down on the couch. The broken feeding bottle stared at him. Blue grabbed it to look at it.
It was not even usable anymore. What was the point of leaving it here? Blue flung it across the room effortlessly.
"We’re all the same."
Those words suddenly echoed inside Blue’s head.
"Fuck, no," he rejected them.
His brothers were alphas. He was an omega. There was no loftier difference than that. They were not the same. They didn’t face the same struggles.
Alphas were born to have things easy for them. Omegas didn’t even have any freewill according to the society. How could they be the same?
Blue stood up from the couch and walked to his room, seeing the gifts in the living room spiked up an unhealthy amount of anger in his heart.
When he reached his room, he grabbed his phone and saw that he’d gotten a text message from someone. At the top of his display screen, he saw the word:
[Congratulations.]
Note: just to add on what I said in the last Chapter, Blue’s current personality is largely influenced by his past trauma.
I don’t know if you guys read in between the lines but there was a particular Chapter I mentioned Blue talking about emitting the personality of Milo, the main character of his first novel.
And that he’d long forgotten himself and adapted to Milo’s character. If you guys can understand, Blue is really... Really complex.
