Shades of Blue (Omegaverse BL) -
Chapter 127 - 125 | My Wife
Chapter 127: 125 | My Wife
They were all alphas. They were also shirtless and smelling like alcohol. It was clear that they were drunk and looking for fun. Just with the wrong person.
"Hey, you wanna come hang with us?" The one at the center said casually, wearing a sleazy smile.
Judging by their faces, Blue was able to tell that they were young alphas; probably seniors in High School. Yet, they had the guts to want to flirt with him, a full grown adult.
"Outta my way," Blue spoke coldly without hesitation as he tried to sidestep them and go on his way.
However, Blue felt a palm latch onto his forearm, dragging him back. On instinct, Blue punched the alpha who grabbed him on his shoulder and cussed.
"What the fuck?!"
"Yo, we were just trying to be nice. Why are you getting violent?" The other two looked like giants as they stood at Blue’s side, trying to trap him between them.
Blue suddenly hated the fact that he was short. If he was taller, he would have been the one to intimidate these idiots.
"If you know what’s good for you, get out of my way now." Blue was still trying to use words before he took action.
Since Blue hadn’t been going out recently, there has been less interaction between himself and alphas. Less talking, less hitting, less trying to understand how their minds worked.
"Stop playing hard to get. Be chill, come hang with us for a sec," the alpha whom Blue had punched was the one who said this, seeming to have recovered from the hit.
"We’ll treat you well. All three of us if you want." Another one said, bumping knuckles with the alpha standing next to him.
"You think this is life? Getting drunk on the beach and targeting omegas?" Blue began to scold the alphas, fed up with their stupidity.
"You wanna lecture us now or–" Blue grabbed the ear of the alpha who spoke up, bringing him down.
"You’re so stupid. Fools like you guys are why this world is damaged. Thinking that you have a right to omegas just because you’re an alpha." Blue aggressively let go of the guy’s ear after his last word, evoking an ’ouch’ from his mouth.
"I’d like to lecture you guys, but I’m sure it’s going to enter one ear and leave through the other since you guys aren’t even sober." Blue shook his head in disappointment.
The alphas truly looked as though his words were flying over their heads. Their eyes were fixated on his small body that was clothed in a floral vintage shirt and a pair of white shorts.
Blue mentally facepalmed himself, debating if hitting minors was worth it or not. His debate was brief as he felt something heavy land on his shoulders.
"What’s going on here?" A familiar voice spoke up.
Blue cocked his head and saw Winter standing beside him with an easygoing smile on his face.
’What is he doing here?’
Winter didn’t catch the words encrypted in Blue’s expression as his gaze was set on the three young alphas.
"Nothing much. Just tryna have fun," one of them responded with a slight hint of panic in his tone.
This was one of those times where even though Winter was wearing a smile on his face, the kind of vibe he was emitting could be said to be menacing.
"With my wife? I think not." Winter said, all traces of cheerfulness on his face disappeared in a flash.
"Run along before I make you regret being born." Winter swatted them away with the wave of his wrist.
The alphas didn’t need to be told twice as the three of them scampered. The road ahead became clear in their absence, causing Winter to let out a low sigh of relief.
"My wife?" Blue suddenly said, picking up Winter’s previous words as he let Winter’s hand, which hung around his shoulders, fall down.
Winter turned to look at Blue, then shamelessly said, "Aren’t you my wife?"
Blue responded with a snort, refusing to say the first thing that came to his mind in response to Winter’s words. He decided to drop the matter.
"What are you doing here?" Blue asked Winter. He could clearly remember telling Winter the day before that he was taking a day off with Adam and shouldn’t be disturbed or sought after.
"I was just passing by..." Winter let out a suspicious whistle after saying that as he began to distance himself from Blue.
Blue grabbed the back of Winter’s collar and said, "Just passing by where? You have no friends who live around here. This place is clearly not on the route to your office. And I’m sure there isn’t a location around here where you’d ever have to be according to your schedule."
Blue’s deduction was simple. Winter was here to stalk him.
"Did Adam tell you we were hanging out here?"
Caught, Winter didn’t try to defend himself any longer as he slowly nodded his head. Blue rolled his eyes and let go of Winter’s collar, not forgetting to land a simple slap on his back.
"Are you obsessed with me or something? Can you stay on your own? Must you follow me around everywhere I go?" Blue asked Winter with a tired, sick voice.
Even though things between them weren’t the best, Winter was still caring enough to check up on him from time to time, making good use of the excuse that he wanted to see his child.
"I thought by now you would already know how obsessed I am with you. Don’t pretend like me stalking you is some groundbreaking never before seen event." Winter shamelessly defended himself, even going as far as to roll his eyes.
"You– hah..." Blue was about to explode when he decided that it wasn’t worth it and sighed in resignation.
"I wanna go pee," he announced, then began walking away from Winter.
Of course, Winter followed him, claiming that it was for protection.
After Blue eased himself, Winter was waiting outside the bathroom for him with a longing expression on his face. Blue compared the look on Winter’s face to the look he had thrown at those naughty alphas and the one he’d been wearing when he had beaten Adonis up at that restaurant.
Winter did have many faces.
Up until recently, Blue hadn’t cared about them. But with each passing day now, he grew more curious about the other sides of Winter that he was not exposed to.
"You okay?" Winter asked Blue.
Blue only realized that he hadn’t taken a step from the door of the restroom and had been scrutinizing Winter’s face in deep thought.
"I’m good. Just tired." Blue shook his head as he responded, trying to push his odd thoughts to the back of his head.
Winter didn’t buy into Blue’s excuse as he blocked Blue’s path and said, "You can tell me anything, you know that, right?"
Winter’s green eyes appeared deep in that moment, glowing with an intense shade. Blue felt like he could lose himself in Winter’s eyes.
He had to steel his nerves and ground his footing to the sandy beach before he was able to say, "That day... why’d you do it?"
Winter’s brows furrowed in confusion. "Why’d I do what which day?"
"Fight. With Adonis," Blue answered.
That question had always occupied the space in the back of his mind. Winter was a physically cowardly person in Blue’s eyes. He never liked to get his hands dirty, always getting others to do things for him while perfecting his flawless reputation.
But he’d gone and beaten Adonis up, revealing a side that was so dissimilar to his usual front.
Even if Winter had been angry at Adonis for getting too close to him, beating the guy to the verge of the underworld was going too far, wasn’t it?
"Heh. Why do you want to know about that?" Winter played Blue’s question off with a chuckle as he began to walk away.
Blue narrowed his eyes in suspicion at Winter’s behavior before moving his legs and catching up with him.
"You told me I could tell you anything. I told you what I wanted to know and you’re not giving me the answer I want to hear." Blue said to Winter.
From the corner of his eyes, Blue saw Winter rolling his own eyes before he responded.
"The guy was scum, and his face was annoying. Plus, he was bothering you. So I beat him up." Winter simply explained.
If Blue was to hear that explanation from anyone else, he would have believed and dropped the matter. But this was Winter: the guy who calculated everything he did and planned a billion steps ahead.
He wasn’t the type of person who would just decide to beat someone up because their face was annoying.
Blue stopped moving at that moment. Winter was already ahead by three steps before he realized that Blue was no longer beside him. He turned around and said, "What’s up?"
With a hard expression on his face, Blue said, "What are you not telling me?"
