Chapter 124: 122 | Unreasonable
Winter left Blue’s house after their incomplete conversation. That was two days ago. It was not a bad separation. More like an emotionless separation where they both had things to say but couldn’t say them.
But before Winter left, Blue told him that he could come back any other time. That counted for something, didn’t it?
However, Blue felt that Winter wouldn’t return unless he personally asked him to. And Blue wasn’t sure he’d be able to put aside his pride and call for Winter first. Maybe he would, but he’d have to be really desperate to do so.
During the time that they spent tangling on the sheets, Winter had managed to give him a temporary mark so his pheromone disorder would stop acting out for the meantime.
He would think of how to adjust afterwards when it wore off. He could always ask Winter for another one, but Blue knew that he didn’t deserve it.
Didn’t deserve Winter caring for him so much when he wasn’t getting anything back in return. But he still wanted to be selfish and take all that Winter would be willing to give him. And even crave for more.
Blue was watching a show on the small TV set in his living room. It was weird that Adonis was playing one of the characters on the show.
After everything that happened, the confession and all, Blue hadn’t heard a peep from Adonis. Blue had thought that Adonis would continue to bother him.
After getting beat up by Winter, he maintained his distance. Blue had expected Adonis to sue Winter for hitting him just like he was sued for doing the same. But nothing.
Even if it didn’t become public news, Blue was sure that Adonis didn’t take any action against Winter. It could be because of Winter’s family name. Or it could be that Winter had something against him.
Either way, Blue was glad that he didn’t have to face Adonis’ obnoxiousness anymore. After the movie was reviewed, it would premiere and he would have to meet with Adonis and his other coworkers once again.
Blue wasn’t looking forward to that. But there was still enough time.
Right after that thought, Blue heard a knock on his front door. His lips curled into a frown. It was like he’d become magically popular since he started living in this apartment. Every day, there was always someone coming over and wanting to see him.
Blue was tired of it. Yet he still forced himself to stand up from the chair he was sitting on and walked up to the door.
Blue opened it in one swing and saw Kendall standing on the other side of his door.
"What?" Blue skipped pleasantries and got straight to the point.
Kendall was already used to Blue’s manner of speaking and wasn’t offended by him.
"Can I come in? I have something important to tell you."
It was surprising to Blue that Kendall was speaking with such composure. Every other day, he was always hyper and saying nonsense.
Since Blue had nothing better to do at the moment, he widened his door and let Kendall in.
Kendall acted like Blue’s place was his own as he directed himself inside the house and settled down comfortably. Blue followed suit and took the chair across from Kendall.
"What’s so important that brought you here and has you acting like there are needles stuck to your butt?" Blue inquired, looking at Kendall strangely.
He could remember a few days ago when Winter first arrived, Kendall had been trying to tell him something. At the time, Blue’s thoughts were clouded with Winter so he didn’t care about whatever Kendall wanted to tell him.
Had Kendall been keeping the ’important thing’ to himself since that day? How strange, Blue thought.
"The other day when I came here, those two people..." Kendall began saying.
Blue’s face was scrunched up as he thought. Two people... Was he talking about Winter’s parents? Easton and Sasha?"
"Yeah, what about them?" Blue questioned impatiently, wanting Kendall to wrap up what he was starting as fast as he could.
"They’re my ex-boyfriend’s parents." Kendall dropped a bomb with a whisper.
Blue’s brain processed things slowly. Ex boyfriend’s parents. Easton and Sasha were Winter’s parents. So Winter was Kendall’s... ex boyfriend.
"What?" Blue asked sharply.
Kendall’s gaze was on his lap. As though he was scared to look up as he spoke.
"Remember when you asked me why I quit gymnastics and mentioned an Alpha being the reason for it? It wasn’t necessarily his fault. But he opened my eyes to a lot of things." Kendall said.
Blue was sure that the ’he’ Kendall was talking about was Winter. It was weird how Kendall was talking about Winter being in his past.
Blue suddenly didn’t want to hear anything anymore. So he stood up from his chair and said, "Sure. You guys dated, he must have done some shitty things. I know. I’m sorry. But he’s a changed person now. I don’t want to hear about what he did to you."
Kendall lifted his head to look at Blue with a dropped jaw. He began to shake his head as he said, "Please, listen to what I have to say first. People don’t change. Winter is–"
"I said I don’t want to hear it." Blue snapped.
He and Winter were in a fragile spot now. This was the wrong time to be hearing things about Winter that would plant doubts and suspicious thoughts in his mind.
Blue had known all along that Winter wasn’t the best person. Winter had even confessed to him that he had done a lot of bad things to Omegas in the past. Blue knew.
His own brothers had tried to break him up from Winter because of it. However, it didn’t matter. It should matter though. But Blue didn’t want it to matter.
Winter was already the father of the child in his stomach. And he was already willing to take responsibility and take care of him to the best of his ability. There was no need to further destroy what they already had.
"Get up. And get out." Blue spoke with an icy tone as he pointed to the door.
"Blue..." Kendall’s eyes watered. "You have to listen to me. I’m not trying to ruin your relationship or anything. I care about you. You’re my friend. That’s why I can’t watch you be with him without telling you what I went through."
Blue walked towards Kendall, grabbed him by his forearm and yanked him up from the chair.
"If you know what’s good for you, you’ll stop talking right about now." Blue said with a dangerously low voice.
He was being unreasonable, he knew this much. His love for Winter had turned him into an idiot. Winter had been able to show him the love that he never knew he was capable of having or deserving.
The image of Winter in his head was a good one. Winter being goofy and also assertive when he needed to be. Winter who could be pretentious but never dated to lie to him. That was the Winter he knew. That was the Winter he wanted to continue knowing.
Any other side of Winter didn’t matter to him.
"He doesn’t view Omegas as human beings! You have to listen to me!" Kendall struggled to speak as Blue dragged him out of his house.
"He’s going to tell you things but they are all lies. You won’t even know he’s lying to you!" Kendall yanked his arm free from Blue’s grip as they got closer to the door.
"He doesn’t lie to me." Blue said.
"That’s what I also thought," Kendall countered.
"He wouldn’t lie to me because there’s no need. I love him. And he loves me too. I... I’m pregnant with his child already." Blue said, his voice dropping to a whisper as he reached the last sentence.
Kendall’s eyes widened with shock. It was as if he had heard the most triggering information in his entire life. He began to shake his head slowly in disbelief.
"Blue, you can’t be..." Kendall muttered to himself.
His eyes carried a crazy amount of fear as he stared at Blue’s stomach.
"He shouldn’t... he’s not supposed to be able..." Kendall was only talking to himself at this point.
"It’s not the most unbelievable thing in the world. We’ve been together for almost two years. And I’m pregnant with his child. That’s that. So I’m not willing to hear anything bad about because I know him." Blue said.
"I’ve definitely known him longer than you. You must be worried about me. But I’m fine. Like I’ve said, Winter is a changed person." I changed him.
Blue held back the words he wanted to say.
"Blue, that child in your stomach can’t belong to Winter," Kendall said, his eyes still fixed on Blue’s belly. "Unless he truly wanted you to get pregnant for him."
