Chapter 123 - 121 | Not Ideal

Chapter 123: 121 | Not Ideal

It was one of Blue’s scumbag brothers. The second one, Eliot to be exact. Winter felt like punching him in the face for making him think that Blue was meeting up with someone secretive.

"I don’t care if you’ve changed or not. All I care about is my peace. And your constant presence in my life is a threat to that." Blue spoke with a cold tone.

Eliot seemed to flinch, but Blue didn’t care as he continued speaking.

"Do you know that I can file a restraining order against you and your older brother for being nuisances to my life? Know it now cause I won’t warn you again. Leave me. Leave me alone. Forever and ever."

"Blue, I’m sorry–"

"Didn’t you hear him just now? He said you should leave him alone!" Winter spoke up, inserting himself into the conversation as he marched forward.

Blue looked at Winter and felt like facepalming himself. He’d told Winter not to come here, but obviously Winter knew best and still came to the door.

Blue hadn’t wanted Winter to see him fending off his brothers because Winter’s reaction would be—

"You know what? It’s because you know his address now, huh? If you didn’t know, you wouldn’t come searching for him and showing your face." Winter then turned to Blue and said, "Pack your things. We’re leaving this place."

"No." Blue said with a firm tone in response to Winter’s instruction. Then he turned back to Eliot and said, "I’ve said what I wanted to say."

Blue slammed his door shut after that, ensuring to lock it. Then he turned around and came face to face with a perplexed Winter.

"No? What do you mean no?" Winter questioned, regarding Blue’s earlier response.

"What does that mean?" Blue frowned a little.

"They’ve been bothering you since you started living here, right? You need to move. I’ll get your things. We’re going back home." Winter said, already making his way back to the bedroom.

"Did I tell you that I wanted to move? To your place?" Blue’s words made Winter stop on his tracks as he slowly faced Blue.

"You’re not coming back with me?" Winter asked for proper clarification..

Blue scoffed and said, "Of course, I’m not. Just because I let you touch me doesn’t mean everything can just go back to how it used to be."

"Then why did you let me touch you? What exactly did you think last night would mean?" The volume of Winter’s voice increased with every word he spoke.

"It meant that we had sex. What else was it supposed to mean?" Blue said nonchalantly.

Winter blinked, surprised to hear such words coming out from Blue’s mouth.

"Blue... I thought we made up. What’s this? Why are you fighting with me again?" Winter asked slowly.

"Made up? Winter, that’s not what we did. We only fulfilled our sexual desires last night. We still have a lot of problems that we haven’t sorted. And I’m not fighting with you. I’m just trying to make you see that nothing is well with us." Blue’s expression and tone were composed as he spoke.

"Okay, what now? How can we solve the lots of problems that we apparently have?" Winter said, crossing his arms together.

This was when Blue sighed and took a step backward as he touched his forehead and said, "I don’t know. I have no clue, okay?"

"Blue, just come back home with me. We’ll sort things out together. I need you by my side." Winter came close to Blue as he used a very loving and convincing tone to speak.

"I’m not going back there. Staying together is definitely not the way to sort anything out." Blue said.

"How can we take care of Winter Junior if we’re not together?" Winter asked.

There was an unamused look on Blue’s face as he said, "We don’t need to be together for me to be able to take care of the baby that’s inside me."

"You can’t even take care of yourself. How are you going to take care of another human being?" Those words flew out of Winter’s mouth before he could stop them.

"What the fuck did you just say to me?!" Blue lost all sense of reasoning at that point as his hands itched to hit Winter.

"I’m just saying the truth. I have to be here for you and my kid. Look at the surroundings you’re living in. How is it conducive for someone that’s pregnant like you?" Winter asked.

Blue couldn’t come up with an answer, but that didn’t mean he was entirely shut down by Winter’s question.

"I’m not in the mood for this. Not in the mood to be yelled at or judged by you." Blue said, attempting to walk out on Winter.

Winter grabbed his hand and pulled Blue back to face him.

"Do you think I want to yell at you or judge you? I just want to be by your side. And you keep making it difficult for me." Winter spoke gently, realizing that trying to yell at Blue or project his opinions into Blue wasn’t the right thing to do at this moment.

"Let’s just sit down first, okay?" Winter offered. Blue didn’t respond.

Winter put an arm around Blue’s shoulders and led him to settle down on the couch.

"I’ll go get you some water and something to eat."

Deflecting from serious conversations was Winter’s superpower. After he went to bring Blue water, he ordered food and they didn’t talk about moving again.

In fact, they didn’t do any talking. They had once again fallen in bed and gotten tangled in the sheets.

It was until the next day when Blue was woken up by morning sickness that he decided it was time to address whatever was going on between himself and Winter.

After rinsing his mouth, he woke Winter up and had him go into the living room.

"You’ve been here for two nights," Blue began to say.

Winter tried to distract Blue by moving closer to him and saying, "We can make that three nights if you decide to wear your pink–"

"Nope. None of that right now. I don’t want to hear it." Blue abruptly cut Winter off and stood up from the chair they were sitting together on.

Temptation came in many forms. And Winter was a million temptations in one.

"We need to talk about us, and right now, you’re going to promise not to deflect or distract us from having this conversation." Blue spoke with a serious tone.

Winter’s features were pinched into a frown.

"Promise." Blue urged him.

Winter was left with no other option but to sigh and say, "Fuck. I promise."

"Good." Blue was satisfied with Winter’s words as he found another chair across from Winter to settle down on.

"We need to talk about the baby. And our relationship," Blue said.

"What about our relationship?" Winter was quick to inquire.

"Everything. This... We’re not ideal. At all."

"We don’t have to be ideal. No relationship is." Winter said with a casual tone.

"But that doesn’t mean we should fight all day all the time. You and I don’t agree on anything–"

"Except sex."

"Really, Winter?" Blue looked at Winter in annoyance.

"Sorry, I’ll stop," Winter quickly apologized, raising his hands in surrender.

"Are you seeing for yourself what I mean? You always want to do the things that I don’t want to do. We’re like- different from each other." Blue swallowed a bitter bile in his throat as he completed his sentence.

"So what? We’ve always been this way. From before we even got together. You’ve known from the start that I’m everything you hate. Yet, we still got together. Why should it matter now?" Winter questioned in frustration, inching to the edge of his seat.

’Because I was content with you being my polar opposite before. I’m not now. I want more. I want more of your love. I want more of you. Not only for myself, for our baby, too. But you can’t see that what you’re giving me isn’t enough. That’s why it matters.’

Those words were on the tip of Blue’s tongue. But he couldn’t say them. He couldn’t be so selfish and shameless openly.

Winter was clearly doing his best. Being as patient with him as he could, caring for him, waiting on him. Blue would be an ingrate if he said he wanted more now. It would be unreasonable of him.

"I just want us to be better for each other." Blue finally said in a soft voice, setting his gaze on his fingers that were fiddling with his shirt.

"Then tell me, how can I be better for you? Because you’re already perfect for me." Winter said with a desperate tone.

"I don’t know..." Blue whispered softly after a moment passed.

Winter didn’t say anything. However, his fists were tightened and his jaw was clenched. None of them said anything anymore. They finally had the platform to lay down all their thoughts, but none of them were able to.

How ironic.
