Chapter 116 - 114 | Wronged

Chapter 116: 114 | Wronged

"Please." Atlas said, sounding as though he was really pleading and not being obnoxiously demanding, which was weird.

But still.

"No." Blue said, refusing to relent as he advanced to shut the door with Atlas’s foot still sticking into his house.

Blue used an incredible amount of force on closing the door and had Atlas hiss in pain before putting his foot out. Blue shut the door immediately after that and locked it.

He stood behind the door and ran his hand through his head. What was Atlas doing at his place? How did he even know where he was staying??

"Blue, are you still there? I’d like to talk to you." Blue heard Atlas say from the other side of the door.

Blue didn’t respond. Talk to Atlas?? What was there to talk about? Their relationship was over and done with. Their family ties were broken! What else?

Blue had once thought that his brothers would arrange for Alphas to beat him up after the reveal at Preston’s funeral, but they had done the opposite. They had sent multiple texts of apology and didn’t blame him for anything.

He had made it clear that he didn’t want anything to do with them. Why did they still bother him, expecting to talk to him after everything they had knowingly done to him?!

"If you’re listening..." Atlas said with a knowing tone, as though he could tell that Blue was actually still close by and listening to his words. "I want to let you know that Eliot and I have realized our mistakes.

"We’re sorry for the things we did and pretending like we were justified to do them. I knew that- I know that you were wronged; I wronged you, Eliot wronged you, father wronged you. There’s no amount of apology that I’m going to give you that will make up for what we did. I know that.

"I just- I just want to do everything I can to fix us. Fix our family so we can go back to the way we used to be before genders came in between our lives." Atlas said.

Blue tried to remember how their lives were in the past. He couldn’t. He couldn’t remember whatever Atlas wanted him to remember. Even though it existed once before.

The memories had been suppressed by so many terrible things that even if Blue wanted to, he couldn’t dig them out to relive the nostalgia they brought.

And he wouldn’t even want it. Because their family was so good before, how did it become so bad? The relationship must not have been the best from the past if manifesting into a different gender from the rest of the family could tear them apart so badly.

"I don’t want any part of whatever you think you want and can fix." Blue spoke with a composed tone.

Atlas was right. No amount of apology he received would ever be enough. It was better to stop apologizing and just move on with their lives without him. That way, no one would have to be forced to receive or give pretty words that couldn’t change anything.

"Blue, please." Atlas’s voice became low.

Blue almost laughed. This would be the perfect time for Atlas to show his true colors and revert to releasing his pheromones to ensure that Blue would listen to him. Blue was already expecting Atlas’s words of realizing his mistake to be a lie.

Surprisingly, Atlas did not release his pheromones.

With a defeated tone, he said, "I’ll try my best to attain your forgiveness. Goodbye for now."

Blue heard retreating footsteps. Shocking enough for him to slightly open his door and check if Atlas had really left him after saying his piece.

It was real! There was no one in the hallway anymore. Atlas had not tried to coerce him by yelling or abuse of pheromones. That was strange.

But Blue didn’t feel like the action was worthy enough to make an effect on his heart. Blue went back into his house and shut the door.

He returned to his pie and quickly forgot the event that transpired in the past few minutes. His brother wasn’t worth him sparing a second thought of.

Winter was clocking out from work after a stressful day on Monday evening when he stumbled upon a large crowd gathered in front of his office building.

’How annoying. Do these people think this is a circus?’ Winter thought to himself in annoyance.

Just then, someone rushed towards him with a smile on their face as they said, "Winter, can you believe Paul is about to propose to Leo? Come see! Come see!"

That was how Winter was dragged to join in the crowd. At the center of the crowd were two people. There was a male Alpha on his knees holding up a ring. Surprisingly, it was another Alpha on the receiving end of the proposal.

Winter was familiar with people of the same gender dating but he hadn’t known anyone on a personal level doing such a thing so openly.

Paul was a coworker whom he shared lunch with sometimes. A very alpha-like Alpha, Winter would say if he was Blue. It was surprising to see that he was with another Alpha.

Who was even more taller and buffer than he was. And to think he was the one proposing to the Alpha!

Winter didn’t pay attention to the sappy words Paul was saying before he got to the "will you marry me?" part.

The other party accepted the proposal in a heartbeat and put on the ring in front of them. The two people were shameless enough to break into a full-blown kiss in public.

Winter felt so oppressed that he turned his head away and wanted to leave. However, he was stopped by a few coworkers who came to him to gush and whatsoever.

So he was forced to put on a smile on his face and pretend as though he didn’t want to be anywhere else but with them.

"What about you?" Someone suddenly said, roping Winter into the conversation.

Winter, who had not been paying close attention, said, "What about me?"

"When are you getting married?"
