Shades of Blue (Omegaverse BL) -
Chapter 115 - 113 | Awkward
Chapter 115: 113 | Awkward
It was only for a brief moment but Blue noticed it.
"I didn’t know you had guests over. I’m so sorry. I’ll go now." Kendall spoke with an awkward tone as he bowed his head in apology.
"Oh, it’s fine. Hiii!" Sasha stood up from the chair she was sitting on to greet Kendall, the same time Kendall basically ran into the kitchen to drop off the pie.
As he was about to leave the kitchen, Kendall was trapped by Sasha. There was a bright smile on her face as she said, "You must be Blue’s neighbor. I hope he’s been good to you."
It was weird how Kendall’s gaze was fixed on the floor as he nodded his head in agreement to Sasha’s words and said, "He’s good. He’s been absolutely good to me."
Blue looked at Kendall with a raised brow. That was a lie. Blue had not been good to him. In fact, Blue was not good to anyone, including his own self.
"That’s so nice. You hear that, Easton?" Sasha glanced behind, pulling her husband into the conversation.
However, Easton didn’t make any attempt to show that he was paying attention to his wife. Oddly, his eyes were fixed on Kendall, as though trying to discern something.
Looking like he couldn’t deal with his curiosity any longer, Easton stood up to his feet and approached Kendall.
"You look so familiar. Excuse me, but have we met before?" Easton questioned Kendall.
Kendall instantly shook his head in disagreement, his eyes darting everywhere other than Sasha’s and Easton’s faces. Even if Blue had chosen to look over Kendall’s awkward behavior earlier, due to Kendall’s suspicious current behavior, Blue began to have second thoughts.
Sasha tilted her head to one side to have a good look at Kendall’s face after her husband had brought up the fact that the face looked familiar.
Since the two of them went everywhere together, if Easton somehow knew Blue’s neighbor, she should also know him.
Sasha indeed found the boy’s face familiar though he was doing his best to hide it.
"Honey, you’re right. You do look familiar. Are you sure we haven’t met before?" Sasha inquired.
"N-No, I don’t think we’ve met before. I don’t know you people." Kendall’s voice cracked as he spoke.
Then without giving the two billionaires a chance to respond, Kendall hurriedly muttered a goodbye and fled the apartment.
Blue threw his door a lasting look and thought to himself, ’That was weird. Kendall definitely seemed like he knew Winter’s parents.’
And for an average person, knowing the Dumonts and being able to get them to remember was nothing small. Blue then remembered that Kendall was an ex-athlete.
He was probably rich. But that didn’t explain why he would know Sasha and Easton.
"The kid looks like someone that has been to our house before." Easton said to Sasha.
Sasha nodded and said, "Could be the son of a worker."
Easton shook his head, saying, "I don’t think so. I just can’t place my finger on where I know him from. And it’s odd that he didn’t want us to recognize him. Do you know he signed against us?"
Sasha looked like she was considering Easton’s words. However, before she could come to a conclusion, Blue said, "Mom. Dad. We were saying something before."
Blue changed the topic matter for good reason. If Kendall didn’t want them recognizing him, then he probably had a good reason why. Blue didn’t want Winter’s parents to pry into his neighbor’s life.
They always did their things extra. Kendall was a low-key person. Their personalities didn’t match.
"Oh, right! Blue! We were talking about your movie." Sasha moved to place her arm around Blue’s shoulders as she spoke, leading them back to the long couch to settle down.
The conversation flowed after that until Sasha and Easton had to leave to go on a boat ride. Yeah, they did things like that spontaneously.
Blue was left all to himself once again. He got hungry and decided to eat the pie Kendall dropped off for him, not thinking about the ingredients used in the food and if he could be allergic to them.
On his fifth bite, Blue got a knock on his door. He rolled his eyes, thinking about how’d have to part with the pie and the comfortable position he was rocking just for some random person at the door.
As Blue set aside the pie, he made a mental note to himself that if it was Kendall knocking, he’d have him bake another pie in apology for the random disturbance.
However, when Blue opened the door—without checking the eyehole—it wasn’t Kendall. It was someone that he hadn’t seen in years.
Blue unconsciously took a step backwards into his house as he came face to face with Atlas.
Atlas was dressed in a dark brown three-piece suit, looking formal as ever. Blue hadn’t seen his brother in person since his father’s funeral.
After that day, Atlas and Eliot had tried to contact him on several occasions without showing their faces, but Blue hadn’t donated either of them the slightest chance.
Their attempts to reach him reduced over time till they stopped trying to contact him completely about six months ago. Without them disturbing his life, Blue had totally forgotten about his brothers.
But seeing Atlas today...
"What are you doing here?"
"Can I come in?"
Blue and Atlas spoke at the same time respectively.
"No." Blue was quick to say as he began to shut the door. However, Atlas put his foot through the door.
A chilling sense of déjà vu ran down Blue’s spine after that action.
"Please."
