Chapter 111: 109 | Maybe Never
It was technically Winter’s fault that Blue was pregnant. That hot night they shared at Winter’s workplace, Winter didn’t use protection after the first round.
Maybe Winter hadn’t pulled out in time or something else happened that resulted in Blue’s pregnancy.
Blue was so annoyed with himself for being so careless.
"Stop making it sound like it was only me." Winter said with his gaze on the floor.
"Really? Is that all you have to say for yourself?" Blue looked at Winter coldly as he spoke.
"What else do you want me to say?" Winter questioned, walking towards Blue, and fearlessly settling down on the side of the hospital bed.
"I’m sorry that you’re angry. And I..." Winter reached to touch Blue’s face as he was speaking, causing him to forget his train of thought as he trailed off.
"Ah fuck. You’re pregnant with my child, Blue. It should be the happiest news ever, but things are like this now. I fucked up. I’m sorry for fucking up." Winter’s thumb caressed Blue’s cheek as he spoke, occasionally looking at Blue, then looking down at his thighs.
Winter didn’t know what to do or say. His reaction kept on changing as different thoughts clouded his brain. He was going to be dad with Blue as his baby’s mama. He and Blue were no longer together, what was going to happen to Blue?
Blue would be in serious danger if he decided not to give birth to the child. Yet, he looked like he’d rather be in that danger than deliver the child he was carrying.
Winter didn’t want Blue to experience pain because of him. But he also wanted Blue to be able to make a choice for himself even though he didn’t have choices to pick from.
Everything became more complicated and complex the more he thought of it.
"Stop it. Stop acting like you’re going through some serious internal turmoil. You’re not the one carrying a person in your womb." Blue finally spoke, slapping Winter’s hand away from his face.
He didn’t like seeing Winter like this—all bare and confused. It would be better for Winter to act like a douchebag so he could get a solid reason to push him away.
But Winter’s actions were never in line with his wishes.
"I don’t want to see your face. It’s getting me irritated and annoyed." Blue spoke with a cold voice, reminding Winter that they had been in a cold war before the discovery of his pregnancy.
And what was going on between them wouldn’t just magically freeze and be forgotten because of his pregnancy. In fact, for that reason, Blue felt like he needed even more space from Winter to be able to think for himself.
"Go. Now." Blue pressed on, seeing as Winter hadn’t made any move to stand up from the side of the bed.
"I’m sorry." Winter said as he rose up.
Blue’s face twisted in disdain. Winter was always ready to apologize to him whether he was at fault or not, but at what cost?
"I don’t want to see you again. And I don’t want a repeat of what happened last night. You don’t own me and you have no right to interfere in my business." Blue said, his eyes looking straight ahead to the wall so he could avoid meeting Winter’s gaze.
There was no need to be afraid of looking into Winter’s eyes, yet he was. He was afraid because he knew that even just a glance would be enough to melt his heart and get him to say a different thing entirely.
That was why he didn’t look at Winter. Not now when there was another person involved in their relationship. If Blue was the only one, he would be able to bear Winter’s ambiguity concerning certain things.
But there was a child involved now. If Winter couldn’t be clear about his feelings and wouldn’t take the extra measures required of him, Blue wondered what kind of life his child would be forced to handle.
His child. His own child.
Blue’s hand dipped to touch his stomach through the sheet. Winter caught this unconscious action, prompting his own stomach to coil in an awkward manner.
"I thought I told you to leave. I don’t want you next to me." Blue said to Winter, realizing that the latter was still inside the room with me.
"Till when?" Winter asked with a small voice, looking to receive even the tiniest bit of hope.
"Maybe never. All I know now is that I don’t want to see your face. So leave me alone." Blue spoke with an adamant tone, then lied down straight on the bed and positioned his face to the other side.
Seeing Blue do this, Winter finally decided to leave Blue alone with a heavy heart. Before he left the room, he said out loud, "I’ll always be available when you need me."
Blue didn’t move, pretending not to hear him. But within his heart, he asked, ’Will you? Will you really?’
He didn’t know the answer.

Blue was discharged from the hospital after that day. When he returned to his apartment, all he wanted to do was rest.
However, like magic, the moment he put a key to his door, the door across him opened up. Kendall’s eyes widened when he saw Blue and he immediately jumped to hug Blue tightly.
"I was so worried about you. You never returned. I didn’t know what to do. Someone came looking for you and I thought you were in big trouble. Are you okay?" Kendall talked so much that Blue decided to zone out after his first sentence and tune back in during his last sentence.
"It’s fine. I’m fine. Just tired." Blue spoke with a vague tone.
Kendall’s brows were furrowed as he looked at Blue and said, "Are you sure? I was told that it was an Alpha looking for you. Did something happen?"
