Chapter 988: 016 Indirect Confession_4

At the time of Jordy Wade’s car accident, Carolline Ruiz was so worried for Celia Wade. But it turned out that Celia was just that strong. Who would have thought back then that Celia had once been a princess, doted on by her parents and Jordy Wade?

Which princess born and raised inside a castle could be as strong as Celia?

Avery Graham replied with a "Okay" and got up to wash up.

Probably because Olivia Walker had exhausted her yesterday, Avery overslept. By the time she finished washing up and left, Giselle Browman had already gone to work, and when Avery arrived at the Cake Shop, she was already late.

Even without her presence, her Cake Shop was orderly and opened for business as usual, and for this, she felt very relieved. She walked into her office room, which also served as a Resting Room, poured herself a glass of milk, and took a piece of cake from the kitchen. This was her breakfast for the day.

Since the opening of her Cake Shop, her breakfast had almost always been like this; either pastries, cake with juice, milk, or coffee.

Sitting at her desk, Avery Graham didn’t go to help in the kitchen as she usually would. Instead, she casually flipped through some entertainment gossip and current affairs news. Just after finishing her breakfast, Bernard Taylor’s phone call came in.

In that moment, Avery Graham stared at Bernard Taylor’s call for quite a while before answering. On the other end, Bernard Taylor spoke directly, "Are you in front of the computer? The designer has finished the renderings, I’ll send them over for you to take a look."

"Yeah, okay," Avery Graham nodded.

"Then I’ll hang up," Bernard Taylor hung up the phone, and very soon, Avery Graham’s Whatsapp received the images from Bernard Taylor, and they really looked great.

Avery Graham was very satisfied, and the two of them chatted on Whatsapp for a while before Bernard Taylor got busy.

Avery Graham then began to stare blankly at the computer screen.

She spent the whole day in a daze. At lunch with everyone else, they even teased her, suggesting that she might be lovestruck. An older cake master joked with her, asking if she was caught in springtime thoughts.

Her face immediately turned red with embarrassment, and then it seemed like the married folks understood a bit about her condition. Avery got up and went back to the Resting Room. She definitely didn’t want to sit outside and be the butt of their jokes.

And just when she was feeling uncomfortable and blaming Bernard Taylor in her heart, Bernard Taylor’s phone call came again. She pretended not to hear it or see it and didn’t answer.

The day dragged on until 4 p.m, when Avery Graham drove to the place Carolline Ruiz had mentioned. Everyone was there except for Megan Clifton, still not out of confinement.

Then they saw Jordy Wade—or rather, as Celia Wade said, "From now on, he won’t be called Jordy Wade, he’ll be known as Ryan Parker."

She really hadn’t expected that Jordy Wade was actually the youngest son of the Parker Group’s President, a name that resonated throughout Kyoto and the entire nation, and the son of Marcus Parker and Ellie Wilton.

It seemed like the life story of everyone around her was like something out of a legend. Look at how rich and fulfilling their lives are; sigh, how is she, Avery Graham, supposed to make sense of all these wealthy and privileged people?

How did she even become friends with Carolline Ruiz in the first place, and then come to know a group of people with such distinguished identities?

"No way? Should I start calling you Young Master Parker now?" Avery Graham giggled.

"If you don’t mind, just call me Brother Ryan," Ryan Parker said with a smile.

"Mmm mmm mmm, okay, then I won’t stand on ceremony," Avery Graham nodded foolishly and then dutifully sat down beside Carolline Ruiz. Naturally, on her other side, was her ever-attached idol Bryan Cooper, "How are you doing? Isn’t there one in the oven by now? Why don’t I see a bump yet?"

"Please, you’re a nurse. Shouldn’t you at least have some common sense even if you lack the experience?" Carolline Ruiz was somewhat speechless, feeling that Avery Graham’s comment was just trying to make conversation. Was it because of Bernard Taylor next to Bryan Cooper?

Don’t blame her for being too sensitive, she was a woman and a pregnant one at that. Ever since becoming pregnant, she had been benched at home, and the result of staying home all day was heightened sensitivity to everything.

Earlier, when Avery Graham came in, she had clearly noticed Avery glance over at Bernard Taylor before quickly diverting her gaze and acting completely nonchalant. Others might not notice, but having been colleagues with Avery Graham for a while, Carolline Ruiz understood her much more deeply than others.

"..." Avery Graham’s face flushed red; that Carolline Ruiz, she really knew how to make her lose face. At this moment, Bernard Taylor happened to look up at her.
