Chapter 957: 011 Avery, let’s break up (second update)_2
"I promised not to let Avery know, but I never said that I wouldn’t let anyone else know aside from Avery. You just didn’t listen clearly." Bernard Taylor replied indifferently as he was handling documents and had also answered Michael Auclair’s call.
"?" Michael Auclair hadn’t expected Bernard Taylor to say that, "Fine, since that’s what you said, I promise you, Avery Graham breaks up, but I want to sign this project cooperation agreement with you immediately."
"...Okay, we’ll find a place to sign in an hour." Bernard Taylor agreed.
After hanging up the phone, Michael Auclair narrowed his eyes, thinking that getting one million was indeed a good thing.

Avery Graham was unaware of the things Bernard Taylor was doing behind her back. She found some time to visit Megan Clifton and her little prince at home before returning to the shop to manage her online business.
Today, she had taken on a large order. A big Flower Shop was opening up on Second Strings Road, and it was just a five-minute drive from her shop. It was very close.
The family had ordered a hundred boxes of Egg Tarts. She was pretty busy, but she quite liked this kind of hustle. In just a few days, it would be the fifteenth day of the new year, and the orders she had taken were enough to give money as a starter bonus to the staff on opening day.
Avery was in a great mood, having prepared fifty boxes of Egg Tarts already, she delivered the first batch and would continue delivering the second batch once she received their call.
Just as Avery was returning from delivering the first fifty boxes, she saw two people standing at the entrance of the Cake Shop - Jollie Auclair’s mother and Jollie Auclair herself.
Jollie’s mother was all smiles upon seeing Avery, while Jollie remained expressionless. Avery approached them, "Auntie, Jollie, you’re here? Come in, come in, please have a seat."
Avery took out her keys to open the door and let Jollie’s mother and Jollie in.
As soon as Jollie entered, she looked around Avery’s shop, which was quite nicely decorated. Having a shop like this in G City, Avery really wasn’t just anybody.
Jollie had been to G City several times and naturally knew about the city’s cost of living. It was a city with a high standard of living, where things were not cheap.
"Auntie, would you like some coffee? Or shall I make you some fresh juice?" Avery put down her backpack and asked Jollie’s mother. She had not expected that they would come to visit just a couple of days after returning home.
Wasn’t Jollie supposed to be repeating her year?
"No need, no need. Avery, just a cup of plain water for me will do." Jollie’s mother did not request anything fancy like coffee or juice. To her, a cup of plain water was sufficient.
"Mom, you’re here and still drinking plain water? Sister Avery, please make us two cups of coffee. My brother said your skills are quite good." Jollie said with a smile to Avery.
That smile—only Avery knew it was a smile that didn’t reach the eyes.
For some reason, Avery always felt that Jollie’s visit had an impure motive.
"How could I possibly? Sister Avery is running a business here. The coffee is meant to be sold for money. It’s fine, we’ll just have plain water. You have plain water too. This cup of coffee can sell for several tens of bucks, so let Avery make that money," Jollie’s mother directly refused Jollie’s request on behalf of Avery. That girl only knew how to enjoy herself without considering the cost—she had no idea when she became like this.
"..." Jollie rolled her eyes in response. She knew she shouldn’t have brought her mother along. She should have come to find Avery on her own.
"It’s okay, Auntie. Have a seat, and I’ll make coffee for you both. Have you had lunch?" Avery asked as she was busy with this transaction and hadn’t had time for lunch yet; it was almost 2 pm.
"We just had some snacks in the car." Jollie replied sullenly. She had originally wanted to buy fast food in the car, but her mother was reluctant to spend the money. Jollie just didn’t understand. Her Big Brother was making a million a year; how could he be so reluctant to spend?
"Then I’ll order three fast-food meals. I haven’t eaten yet either. We’ll eat and then have coffee," Avery said, and promptly made a call to order three gourmet set meals.
Before the food arrived, Avery prepared two cups of plain water for the two visitors, and she had one for herself.
"Thank you, Avery," Jollie’s mother said, feeling a bit embarrassed. Actually, she had advocated going directly to see her son, but Jollie said her brother was very busy with work. As the manager of a big company, he wouldn’t necessarily have time to see us whenever we wanted. After discussing it, they eventually decided to visit Avery first.
