Chapter 956: 011 Avery, let’s break up (second update)

"I only have him, I’m not a public bus," Adelle Turner spoke up in her own defense.

Indeed, she had only actively seduced Michael Auclair once, when she first came to the company, she took a fancy to Michael and had silently liked him for a long time, and waited a long time before finally getting a chance to get close.

So, other than him, she really hadn’t liked any other man, nor would she let any other man touch her—unless she completely gave up hope in Michael or she would find someone else to marry and then live her peaceful little life.

"Whether or not you’re like that, what does it have to do with me," Giselle Browman didn’t expect that Adelle Turner, who dressed up every day and looked like a flirtatious fox, could actually be so innocent.

Unfortunately, Michael Auclair did not like her; all this woman’s infatuation was in vain.

Adelle’s face turned dark. Giselle Browman always talked like that, always with rude words. I really don’t know how, as a woman, she can blurt these words out so casually.

"I’ve submitted my resignation here, approve it or not, it doesn’t matter; I won’t be coming to work tomorrow anyhow. That’s that, you two chat," Giselle said before turning to leave.

"Giselle, wait a moment, Adelle, you go out first. Whatever urgent matter you have, I will call you later," Michael Auclair said to Adelle.

"Alright." Adelle nodded and stepped out.

Giselle closed her eyes; she really did not want to continue staying in the same room with someone as disgusting as Michael Auclair. She forced herself to turn around, watching Adelle leave with eyes full of hatred for her.

"Michael Auclair, you’ve said so much already, and we’ve come to such a head on this, I really don’t know what there’s left to say between us," Giselle crossed her arms, not quite understanding why he wanted her to stay.

"Giselle, don’t be angry, rest assured, I won’t pester Avery. I like her, but I also know I truly can’t possess her, because I’m not worthy, I’m nothing," Michael said while slapping himself across the face in front of Giselle, hard enough for her to see his skin change color; one slap wasn’t enough, he hit the other side too, both cheeks swelling up, "Giselle, I won’t defend myself; I just hope that breaking up with Avery is something I can do myself. The sordid affair with Adelle, perhaps it’s better not to tell her. First, I’m too ashamed, and second, most importantly, I don’t want to hurt her, don’t want her to be sad, okay?"

Giselle watched Michael, who now seemed earnest and genuinely remorseful compared to before Adelle entered, unsure if she should believe his ’repentance.’

It must be repentance, I guess, he speaks as if he really loves Avery Graham so much.

But even if he didn’t ask her, she wouldn’t tell Avery anyway; she had already promised that to Bernard Taylor before.

"Rest assured, I won’t tell my sister the truth; even if I resign, I’ll just tell her that I didn’t get along with Adelle, and that it has nothing to do with you. Remember, if you hurt my sister, you won’t get anything, that’s the condition Bernard Taylor and I agreed on," Giselle glared at Michael, feeling disgusted at the sight of him now.

"Okay, I got it. Your resignation, I’ll accept it, and I’ll pass it on but you can’t say you’re not coming tomorrow and then just not show up. The company has its procedures, and after I break up with Avery, you can say you resigned because you don’t want to work with me, Avery won’t suspect, right?" Michael continued to persuade.

Since he couldn’t keep her here anyway, he still wished the proceedings to appear decent.

"... Fine, no more than a week," Giselle compromised.

"Mhm, good, don’t worry," Michael squinted his eyes, "Now go out, and tell Adelle to come in after half an hour."

Giselle walked straight out the door.

Although Adelle was indeed waiting outside, looking at her, Giselle truly didn’t feel like passing the message, "He said to come in after half an hour. Of course, whether you believe me is up to you."

Adelle glared at Giselle with hatred but eventually left.

After Giselle left, Michael made a call to Bernard Taylor; no sooner had the call connected than Michael started to rant, "Bernard Taylor, aren’t you too petty? You said that you wouldn’t let anyone know about this. How could you tell Giselle?"
