Chapter 942: 008 Good get-togethers, good break-ups
In the office room, neither of the two women was willing to give in, Adelle Turner wore a face full of grievance, while Giselle Browman no longer had the respect for Michael Auclair she usually showed, turned her pretty face away, fuming and silent.
"..." Michael Auclair was only concerned about Giselle Browman; Adelle Turner’s grievances went unnoticed by him, and she was the only one he wanted to placate. However, clearly, Giselle Browman was unwilling to even speak to him now, leaving him at a loss for words.
"Mr. Auclair, I resign. I want no part in whatever is going on between you two, and you need not mediate for us. I’m going to submit my resignation report right now. You can publicly claim that I was dissatisfied for not being selected as the Team leader," Giselle Browman said and then prepared to turn and leave.
"Giselle," Michael Auclair promptly called after her, "Is this issue really so serious that you have to resign? I’ve said before, there will definitely be a better position than Team leader suitable for you next time, and I will keep it for you. I am not only your leader but also your brother-in-law; don’t you believe what I say?"
"..." At this instant, Adelle Turner’s expression soured. Even at this point, was Michael Auclair still thinking about marrying Avery Graham? But she didn’t believe that Avery Graham would still stay with him after knowing about this.
"Brother-in-law? Mr. Auclair, do you think it’s still appropriate for you to say such things now?" Giselle Browman was extremely angry, having seen shameless people before, but never ones as utterly shameless as these two.
"Why isn’t it appropriate? It’s just a photo, after all. I can explain that day’s situation clearly. Adelle and I had something in the past, but all that was before I met Avery, wasn’t it? Everyone has a past, right?" Michael Auclair said off the cuff.
Adelle’s face twisted once again. Did it have to reach the point where her brother caught them in bed to count? This Michael Auclair really had a knack for turning black into white; so mired in darkness, he could still whitewash himself.
She had underestimated him and had overestimated Giselle Browman’s intelligence.
Sure enough, after hearing Michael Auclair’s explanation, Giselle Browman’s stiff facial lines began to soften, "Is what you said true? Your relationship with her, it was really just a thing of the past?"
Though Giselle Browman felt that having former romantic partners working in the same company was very awkward, just as Michael Auclair said, who doesn’t have a past?
You can’t just cling to someone’s past like that. Michael Auclair wasn’t a teenager, a man in his early twenties; it was normal for him to have a past.
"Giselle, would I lie to you?" Michael Auclair gave a helpless smile, knowing that if there was any softening on Giselle’s side, he could quicken his pace on his end and ensure that nothing between him and Avery Graham would be ruined.
As for Adelle, he would figure out her true intentions. If all this was intentional on her part, then he had ways to ensure she would gain nothing.
"Alright, I’ll believe you this time. Compared to my sister, people like Adelle are nowhere close. If you really chose her over my sister, Mr. Auclair, I would think you’re truly blind," Giselle Browman, being straightforward, spoke her words of contempt right in front of Adelle.
She indeed looked down on Adelle, seeing her as the type of woman who manipulates others with deliberate cunning.
Just too disgusting, the nerve to bring up her past relationship with Michael Auclair.
And those who release such photos are just too idle. If they’re capable, let them produce photos of the two in bed, preferably with a timestamp.
After hearing Giselle Browman’s words, Adelle’s face became somewhat contorted, yet she didn’t anticipate that Michael Auclair’s next words of agreement with Giselle would render her practically monstrous.
"I feel the same way," Michael Auclair agreed nonchalantly with Giselle’s words.
Giselle Browman smiled, looking at Adelle’s face twisted with hate and frustration, unable to do anything to her. The frustration she felt all morning had dissipated quite a bit.
"Then I’ll go back to work," Giselle Browman said to Michael Auclair. Her mood had been affected today, and now there was so much work waiting for her outside; she had promised to get off work on time and then treat Avery to hot pot.
"Okay, and remember to arrange a portion for me for the Hot pot tonight," Michael Auclair nodded, reminding her.
