"...Sis, sis, why are you here?" Giselle Browman stood still, took several deep breaths, and when she turned around, she saw Avery Graham at the reception desk. She didn’t even bother to argue with Michael Auclair, but walked straight towards Avery.

Avery usually wouldn’t come to their company. Could it be that she had heard something?

Adding to that, the Human Resources Department had just announced that the leader of Business Team A would be Adelle Turner. Coupled with what her colleagues were saying, she was even more convinced that Adelle had gotten the position by getting into bed with Michael Auclair.

Before, she didn’t care much about the team leader position, but she couldn’t stand seeing Adelle so arrogant and imperious, especially when she knew that Michael Auclair was going to be her future brother-in-law and Adelle deliberately came to her just to speak in that manner.

Adelle was just too much.

But now, she really didn’t want to think about that anymore. What was key was that Avery had come, just so abruptly.

By now, everyone in the company was aware of the unclear relationship between Michael Auclair and Adelle. Late at night, the two of them were spotted entering the residential area where Michael Auclair lived together. Pictures of that event had suddenly spread throughout the entire network of their company overnight.

Michael Auclair’s face turned dark when he saw it, and so did Giselle’s. The first day at work was quite normal, except that Adelle entered Michael Auclair’s office room frequently. Then, the next day, such pictures appeared, as if a hacker had infiltrated their company’s computers. Anyway, when everyone opened their computers, the desktop background they saw was Michael Auclair and Adelle Turner entering the residential area together.

The night before, the Human Resources Department had announced Adelle’s appointment as team leader. Consequently, many people in the company couldn’t help but link the two events. But Giselle wasn’t thinking about Adelle’s promotion; instead, she was wondering what Avery would do if she found out.

Rationally, she knew that as cousins, she should tell Avery about this matter. However, emotionally, she was afraid that Avery would get hurt.

So, she made up an excuse and slipped out, unaware that Michael Auclair was watching her closely that day. As soon as she slipped out, Michael Auclair followed her out.

It must be fate’s cruel jest that, at this moment, Avery had unexpectedly come to their company.

"What’s wrong with you two?" Avery also noticed their emotional state and didn’t respond to Giselle’s question, choosing to ask one first.

The reception had already notified Adelle, who was now coming down the stairs. She saw the three of them meeting at the corner of the first floor, so she stood there, watching, waiting to see what would happen.

In the morning, as soon as Michael Auclair saw the situation, he called her into his office room. He would certainly think that she was behind this, but she made it clear that she didn’t understand such things and didn’t have such schemes. Plus, she was a victim in the photos. Now, everyone in the company was suspecting that her position as team leader was not legitimate. Moreover, she had just been promoted yesterday—it would be foolish to release those photos the next day. How could she take such pictures herself?
