Chapter 938: 007 The exposure of the secret plot_2

People really are supportive, though. Their company is so far from my Cake Shop, and it’s not even on the way. Yet they still come here to place orders. Thinking of this, Avery was more than happy, "Miss Adelle, since you and Giselle are colleagues, you don’t need to pay for the order. I’ll get it ready and deliver it directly to you. You’ve ordered so much and taken such good care of me that I’ll deliver it to your door tomorrow. You don’t have to make the trip yourself; it’s quite a long way and very time-consuming."

"Well, since you say so, I’ll trouble you to deliver it, but it’s the New Year, and in business, we pay attention to this sort of thing, so please take the money." Adelle didn’t stand on ceremony with her, really insisting on paying her.

Through their exchange, it became even clearer to her that Avery Graham wasn’t much of a competition; Avery wouldn’t be a match for her.

If that was the case, then there was no need to be polite with Avery anymore. She could let it slide before, but now she couldn’t explain it to the family. Both personally and professionally, she must make Michael Auclair take responsibility for her.

"Alright then, I’ll charge you 30 yuan per coffee, and 5 yuan for each Egg Tart, making a total of 1,000 yuan for you." This was a double discount. Normally, her coffee for takeaway was 40 yuan a cup, 50 yuan if you drank it in the shop, and Egg Tarts were 6 yuan each. She was ordering a hundred at once, so charging 5 yuan each, and in the end, she’s saving another hundred yuan.

"Thank you very much." Avery didn’t care about the price at all. Once she became Team leader, her basic salary would increase by more than just this thousand yuan. Spending this to treat everyone to afternoon tea was indeed not expensive.

Avery counted out ten "Mao grandpas" and handed them over, Avery seeing that Adelle insisted on paying, didn’t play coy and took the money.

"Alright then, since that’s the case, I’ll take it. Could you tell me what time would be suitable to deliver it to you?" Avery took the money and took out a notebook to record it.

"Around two o’clock would be good. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving now." After saying this, Adelle turned and walked towards the store exit, but not before giving Avery a deep look.

She finally understood why Michael Auclair liked this woman. She didn’t have much charm by herself; he probably liked her simplicity and lack of scheming.

But such women, in today’s society, would only be devoured by men, leaving not even a bit of bone behind, she couldn’t do that.

Avery escorted her out and, due to the rush order received today, had to cancel the afternoon plans to visit the two women, a pregnant lady and one who had just become a mother.

She went to buy some fresh ingredients in preparation for tomorrow’s order.

After purchasing these items, Avery took them straight home. Since it was the first day back at work, both Michael Auclair and Giselle Browman stayed at the company for a dinner hosted by the boss as a welcome back feast.

Companies overseas really do offer great welfare.

Avery made herself a bowl of noodles to eat alone. By ten o’clock, Giselle hadn’t come back, so she went to bed.

The next day when she left home, Giselle had already gone to the company. It seemed that becoming a Team leader really did make a difference. A new year, a new start. She had originally planned to celebrate properly when her cousin got promoted.

However, just having returned for two days, the two sisters hardly even saw each other’s faces. It was fortunate that she had to deliver to Adelle today. She could take this opportunity to visit Giselle and, incidentally, see Michael Auclair as well.

Avery had an early lunch and then began brewing coffee and baking Egg Tarts.

At one-thirty, she set off, and at two o’clock, she arrived at Michael Auclair’s company.

This was her second visit to Michael Auclair’s company; the first was when Giselle had just been hired by the company. On her first day of work, Avery had come to see her off.

She approached the reception and explained to the Reception Staff that she was there to deliver items to Adelle and asked them to notify her. The staff nodded and dialed Adelle’s number.

At this moment, Giselle Browman rushed out from behind her, with Michael Auclair following behind. Neither of them noticed Avery until Michael Auclair shouted, "Giselle, stop right there, do you hear me?"

"..." Avery heard Michael Auclair’s voice, turned to see him and Giselle Browman, who had just stopped walking ahead. Their expressions seemed quite wrong, didn’t they?
