Chapter 883: 016 Belated Repentance_3

Celia said okay and then the whole group went to the hotel in great spirits. Penny originally didn’t want to go, but she couldn’t stand up to Celia’s insistence and Ellie also persuaded her to join, so Penny reluctantly agreed.

Celia’s driving skills were quite good and she drove steadily to Bryan Hawkins’ Royal Hotel’s VIP Lounge. Bryan and Carolline Ruiz were waiting for them at the entrance, Henry Ruiz and Harry Wade had arrived earlier and were also waiting there.

So, when Marcus Parker and Ellie got out of the car and saw this scene, Ellie was a bit scared. First, she had not expected so many people to be waiting for them at the door; second, she thought they should be waiting in the room instead.

Marcus Parker’s reaction, on the other hand, was quite calm.

"In-laws, father-in-law," Harry called out as he approached. "I’m sorry, but Celia had made an appointment for my check-up, so I couldn’t pick you up from the airport today."

"It’s okay, we’re all family now, no need for such formalities," Marcus said, not particularly caring. He has always disliked this kind of polite mannerism. As for strangers, there was no need to say, and among family, it wasn’t necessary.

Harry nodded, knowing they were magnanimous.

"Oh, let me introduce you to my dear friend of many years, Henry Ruiz, the head surgeon, and his wife, Miss Kylie Stratton," Harry made the introductions for them.

"Mr. Parker, Mrs. Parker, nice to meet you," Henry Ruiz and Kylie Stratton nodded towards Marcus Parker and Ellie.

They really hadn’t expected Ryan Parker’s background to be so complicated, that in the end, he would turn out to be the crown prince.

Luckily, the family had reunited now and it was a harmonious affair.

"You are friends of Harry, so let’s not be so formal and just call each other by names, what do you think?" Marcus asked them, and Ellie nodded in agreement on the side.

"Yeah, sure, Mr. Parker, you call the shots," Henry agreed heartily. They were Ryan’s biological parents and all part of the same family; there really was no need for such distance.

"Uncle Henry, Auntie Kylie," Ryan Parker approached, calling out to Henry Ruiz and Kylie Stratton.

The two of them replied.

"Uncle Henry, Auntie Kylie, Uncle Marcus, Auntie Ellie, Uncle Harry, how about we go inside and talk?" Bryan stepped forward, reminding them.

"Yes, yes, let’s go inside to talk," Harry nodded. "These are Celia and Ryan’s good friends, Bryan Hawkins and Carolline Ruiz."

"Hmm," Marcus Parker nodded his head.

Once inside the private room, the waiter served the dishes.

The meal was lively with several elders enjoying their conversation, and the younger ones were just as cheerful. Penny, who was initially quite tense, relaxed as she gradually integrated into the group after chatting with the amiable Carolline Ruiz.

Indeed, Celia is such a nice person, and so are her friends.

Being of similar ages, they quickly started chatting together.

The topic that came up the most was how Carolline Ruiz was already expecting her second child while they were just beginning to prepare for the wedding with no child in sight yet. Henry Ruiz said it was no problem, suggesting that maybe Celia could manage two at once with one pregnancy, wouldn’t that be even more impressive?

This made both Marcus Parker and Ellie laugh.

The men were drinking wine, and Ryan Parker and Bryan occasionally joined in for a couple of drinks, while Ellie and Kylie Stratton enjoyed nutritious and delicious soup. After drinking lots of soup, Ellie wanted to go to the restroom. Celia originally wanted to accompany her, but then Kylie also decided to go along.

Marcus Parker rarely had the chance to cling to his wife, so he just watched the two women, hand in hand, walking out the door.

He was quite envious, indeed.

As Kylie Stratton and Ellie reached the staircase, they ran into an acquaintance, so Ellie let her stay to chat and went ahead alone to the restroom. At the restroom’s entrance, she collided with someone in a hurry coming out.

Ellie was slight, the other person somewhat large, and Ellie was knocked to the ground, in pain.

"I’m so sorry, it wasn’t on purpose," the other woman said, seeing Ellie was dressed very well and knowing she was not someone she could afford to offend, she quickly apologized.

"It’s okay, just be careful next time," Ellie said, a bit angry, but since the woman had apologized, it wouldn’t be right to say much else, especially as there was no serious harm done.

"...Anna? You’re Anna Turner, aren’t you?" As Ellie looked up, the woman saw her face, hesitated a moment, and then asked.

"Yes, and you are?" Ellie looked at her, but whether it was her own poor memory or the other woman had changed significantly, she stared for a long time without being able to recognize her.
