Chapter 882: 016 Belated Repentance_2
"Hmm, then I won’t stand on ceremony with you all, you can make the arrangements, and just leave the purchase to Dad," Ellie Wilton said straightforwardly.
"..." Zoey Parker was taken aback for a moment, and then both parties started laughing. They had never really bonded with Ellie Wilton before, always feeling that this woman posed a threat to them. But now they realized that this woman was probably truly cherished by their father, blunt in her speech and simple in her thoughts.
"We need to go now, we’re running out of time. We’ll have a long chat when we get back," Ellie Wilton, checking the time, reminded them. There was a long line at the security check, and they needed to queue up as well.
"Okay, Dad, Auntie, Ryan, have a safe trip," Zoey Parker nodded.
Ellie Wilton appreciated their kind gesture. While queuing, Ryan Parker sent a text to Jackson Clarke, asking him to find some time to investigate the elder and second brothers of the Parker Family, to find out what they were really up to.
It wasn’t that he was overly suspicious, but the change in these two men was just too drastic. Before, they had seemed quite dissatisfied with him and his mother, but now they were so eager to please.
Ryan Parker truly didn’t want to think ill of them, but the change had happened in too short a time.
Before boarding the plane, Ryan Parker sent a text to Celia Wade and then switched off his phone.
——Dividing Line——
Celia Wade came to pick them up with Penny Lawson. Penny had returned from Kyoto to G City to help take care of Harry Wade. Initially, he had said he’d live with them, but eventually, he ended up buying a house in G City, something for which Celia was not entirely pleased.
But as Uncle Yu had rightly said, having him back in the country was better than being abroad. A trip overseas would take at least several days, but Kyoto is just an hour away from G City, making a round trip in one day no problem at all. So, Celia didn’t dare to ask for too much.
Celia nodded in agreement, and besides, Harry Wade would still be accompanying her to the wedding. There would still be plenty of time for the father and daughter to spend together, which was already much better than before.
Harry Wade had originally planned to come for the airport pickup too, but today, Celia had arranged for him to have a comprehensive health checkup. At noon, they would call Carolline Ruiz and her family over for a simple meal. To her, Henry Ruiz and Emily Hill were almost like her own parents.
Ellie Wilton liked Celia very much. After disembarking, the two hugged each other tightly for a while. Celia had driven there, with Penny in the front passenger seat.
On the way back, Celia drove with Penny as co-driver, and Ryan Parker sat in the back with his parents.
Penny felt a bit awkward in this situation, feeling somewhat superfluous accompanying Celia, and wasn’t sure what Mr. Ryan Parker might be thinking right now.
Harry Wade had grown tired of living in the villa and had bought a house in the Residential Area with five rooms: one for Uncle Yu, one for Penny, one for himself, one for Celia, and one left over, which could be for Henry Ruiz and Kylie Stratton. If Ryan Parker was to stay overnight, he would have to share with Celia, unless Celia and Penny squeezed in together and gave up a room.
"Celia, your dad’s used to living in a villa. Don’t you think he’ll find an apartment too cramped?" Marcus Parker felt it was pretty crammed. He always preferred larger spaces and found villas more spacious.
"Uncle Marcus, my dad said he’s tired of the villa, and with just Uncle Yu and Penny at home, there’s no need for excess space. He thinks it’s cozier to live in a smaller place," Celia said. And warmer too, Harry Wade meant.
Celia actually supported him. Just like Henry Ruiz and Emily Hill, they had savings enough for a modest villa, yet the old couple had lived their whole lives comfortably in a small three-room flat allocated by Henry’s company.
And their affection for each other was still strong.
So, happiness has nothing to do with the size of a house. As long as that place is called home, it will always be warm.
"That’s true," Ellie Wilton thought it was a nice idea. If Marcus Parker had told her before buying the separate courtyard, she definitely would have dissuaded him, "I think it’s very good."
But he hadn’t mentioned it beforehand, and by the time she found out, the separate courtyard had already been bought.
Marcus Parker pursed his lips. He was used to a bit more space.
Not long after they arrived home, they received a call from Harry Wade. He had finished his health checkup and it was nearly noon. Bryan Hawkins had already booked a private room in his hotel, asking them to head straight there.
