Ellie Wilton stood outside the Emergency Room waiting, and in that moment, she felt an inexplicable surge of worry. She didn’t understand why she was feeling this way, but when she saw Jordy Wade lying unconscious at the entrance of her shop, all the dissatisfaction she had with him just evaporated.

Her hands twisted together uncontrollably.

Now, Ellie Wilton was a well-known figure, the wife of Marcus Parker, and so doctors and nurses treated her with due respect when they saw her. She didn’t care about these details; what concerned her was how someone as tall and healthy-looking as Jordy Wade could just collapse.

Marcus Parker arrived just as the doors to the Emergency Room opened.

The doctor in the white coat, upon seeing Marcus Parker as well, naturally began to report, "Mr. Parker, Mrs. Parker, we have thoroughly examined the patient, and it appears he was in a car accident before. There is a blood clot in his brain pressing on his nerves. We recommend that the blood clot be removed immediately; otherwise, there could be a risk to his life."

"A risk to his life?" Ellie covered her mouth, hardly able to believe such a result.

"You said he was in a car accident before?" Marcus immediately followed up with his own questions; he was not aware of the details following Jordy Wade’s accident, and he had just started to investigate Jordy Wade’s case. But how could there have been a car accident?

"Yes, it was likely caused by a car accident," the doctor stepped out and said. "Moreover, Mr. Wade has woken up; after resting a bit inside, he should be able to come out. We have already confirmed this with him. Also, he mentioned that he has lost his memory."

"Memory loss?" This time, it was Ellie and Marcus who echoed each other’s question in unison.

The man had actually lost his memory.

"Yes, if it’s possible to contact his family, please do so as soon as possible. After all, we need a family member’s signature to proceed with the surgery," the doctor said to Marcus and Ellie, thinking that the sooner the surgery was performed, the better.

Otherwise, these sudden bouts of unconsciousness could happen at any time, and they might not be so lucky next time.

"Thank you, doctor," Marcus said to the doctor.

The doctor nodded and left. Then, Jordy Wade walked out with the support of a nurse, his face still rather pale and his spirits low.

He looked up to see Marcus and Ellie. The three of them just looked at each other. With his hand on the nurse’s shoulder, Jordy took it off. Seeing them, he didn’t want to appear too weak.

"I have something to discuss with you. I’m fine now; if possible, let’s find a place to have lunch together," Jordy said slowly making his way towards the corridor. He had rested inside and now was just feeling a bit hungry.

What he didn’t know was that the presence of the blood clot in his brain had become this serious; he thought it only caused his memory loss, not realizing it also threatened his life.

He had thought it through, and if that was the case, he decided it would be best to go back and find Henry Ruiz and undergo the surgery. Regardless of the outcome of the surgery, whether it would restore his memory or not, he wasn’t so concerned anymore. He now wanted to live.

To live and be with Celia Wade.

"Let me support you; you don’t look well," Ellie said after a moment’s thought, stepping forward and offering her arm for him to lean on her shoulder.

Marcus was taken aback but ultimately did not get jealous. After all, anything between Jordy Wade and Ellie was impossible because Jordy was in love with the lady of the Wade Family, and Marcus believed that he was the only one in Ellie’s heart.

So, Ellie was just taking pity on the poor kid; nothing more would come of it.
