Celia obediently went back to her room, leaving the outside matters to Jordy.

Because she was thinking about him outside, even though Celia was tired, she couldn’t sleep once she lay down on the bed. She couldn’t help but think back to the past when she went to college, she never wanted to stay on campus. At that time, Jordy, who was already the General Manager at the Wade Family, rented an apartment outside of her school. Whenever he got the chance, he would return home and cook for her.

Back then, she didn’t have to do anything other than wait for meals and drinks.

Jordy had also considered hiring a nanny to look after her, but after eating the food that Jordy cooked, even if the taste wasn’t as great as professional chefs, she was delighted while eating it and wouldn’t let him hire a nanny.

Later on, he hired an hourly worker who came regularly to clean their home, but they didn’t stay overnight.

The distance between their university and the Wade Family’s business was really far. At that time, it would’ve been better for Jordy to go home after work. However, as long as he wasn’t on a business trip, Jordy would always return to their home.

She hadn’t eaten Jordy’s cooking in years. During that time, he must have been cooking for Avery Saunders instead.

She wasn’t jealous, just occasionally thought about it.

Outside the door, in less than half an hour, Xiao He arrived, her hands filled with groceries. Jordy walked over naturally and helped her take some of the items.

"Hello, Mr. Wade. Where’s Miss Wade?" Xiao He asked Jordy as she changed her shoes.

"She’s resting in the room. I’ll help you with dinner tonight, just tell me what to do." Jordy said humbly.

"No need, Mr. Wade. Miss Wade pays my salary, so I’ll take care of these things. You rest, and when dinner is ready, I’ll call you." Xiao He quickly declined, as it wasn’t right for her to take the salary but not do the work.

"I know, I won’t deduct your salary, don’t worry. I just want to help her with something, and besides, there’s something I’d like to hear from you." Jordy nodded, knowing that working two jobs wasn’t easy for her, and his help wouldn’t affect her wages.

"..." Seeing him so insistent, Xiao He didn’t feel it was right to refuse any longer.

It was getting late, and dinner was supposed to be at six o’clock, as per Miss Wade’s rules.
