Not long after Carolline hung up the phone, a call came from Emily Hill, her voice sounding urgent, "Carolline, hurry to the hospital. Jasmine, Jasmine... she’s had a miscarriage."

"Miscarriage?" She was less than two months away from giving birth, so how could she suddenly miscarry? Could it be that something had upset her? Or had Christopher Lopez’s affair finally been exposed?

"Oh, I’ll be right there." Carolline assured her, with her father at the hospital, it was surely the best gynecologist in the Obstetrics and Gynecology who was treating Jasmine Ruiz.
