From that moment on, Cole Duncan became determined to become successful and make a fortune. This conviction took root deeply and he vowed to make a lot of money in his lifetime.

Perhaps his belief was so strong, coupled with Cole’s clever mind, that he met his life-changing benefactor during his freshman year. Soon, he made his first pot of gold.

The partnership worked exceptionally well, and the company grew bigger and bigger. Later, when the other person wanted to study abroad, Cole generously bought out the person’s shares, becoming the sole person in charge of the company.

In this way, through his hard work, Cole allowed Debbie Duncan to live the lifestyle of a wealthy lady.

Her plan was to force Daisy to have an abortion, but Daisy refused. Each time during the prenatal examination, the doctors praised the baby’s healthy development, and listening to the child’s strong heartbeat, how could Daisy bear to terminate the pregnancy.

But Debbie was very bothered by it. Even when Cole tried to mediate, saying that the ultrasound could be inaccurate and that the child needed to be born to know for sure, he couldn’t change his mother’s attitude.

When Cole was around, things were somewhat better. But as soon as he left, Debbie would torment Daisy in various ways.

Perhaps due to the stress in the later stages of pregnancy, and several close calls in which they almost lost the baby, Daisy was under tremendous mental pressure. This eventually led to a difficult labor, excessive bleeding, and an emergency cesarean section. Both mother and daughter survived, but Daisy lost her uterus.

When Debbie learned that Daisy could no longer bear children after this birth, she became even more displeased with her. She treated Daisy much worse, deliberately depriving her of decent postpartum care, and made Daisy do chores all over the house immediately after her confinement period. Even though they could easily afford to hire enough nannies, Debbie insisted on hiring one less person and made Daisy do all those jobs while also taking care of the baby every day.

Daisy had to get up several times during the night to feed the baby, but still woke up at precisely six o’clock in the morning to make breakfast for Debbie, who wouldn’t get up until eight. Sometimes, Daisy would fall asleep while working in the kitchen.

When Debbie discovered this, she would inevitably scold Daisy, then double the housework as punishment.

She never liked Daisy to begin with, and even now, she still didn’t like her.

All the changes in her son were because of this woman. Since meeting Daisy, her precious son, Cole, no longer belonged to her alone.
