After dismissing the heads from various departments, Bryan Hawkins received a call from Benjamin Ford. Benjamin was truly capable; he had already found the person behind the anonymous photos in less than a morning.

"Ford." Bryan Hawkins took Benjamin’s call in front of Carolline Ruiz.

"Mr. Hawkins, you’ve offended someone." Benjamin laughed heartily on the other end. In all honesty, being called "Ford" by Bryan Hawkins was an honor, at least according to his own beliefs and what his Big Brother had told him.

Anyway, he treated his Big Brother’s words like a decree.

"Who did I offend?" Bryan Hawkins knew, but he didn’t know who exactly he had managed to offend.

"Edward Clark, have you heard of him? The thugs confessed easily. As for this Edward Clark, I haven’t heard of him, so I wanted to ask you first. If you don’t know him, I’ll have someone look into it." Benjamin thought Edward Clark wasn’t a big deal since he had never heard of him before.

"No need to investigate further. Even if I don’t know him, I should be able to guess." Bryan Hawkins calmed down and thought for a moment, "Alright, same as always, I’ll transfer the payment to your account later."

"You don’t have to, you already paid a lot last time." Benjamin was a righteous person, and the previous payment had been quite generous. Asking for more this time would be improper.

"Last time was last time, that was years ago. Consider it a treat to tea. Big Brother should be out soon, right? Pick a time, and let’s have a casual meal together." Bryan Hawkins made a promise before hanging up.

Benjamin’s approval didn’t reach Bryan Hawkins, who had already hung up the phone. But Benjamin laughed helplessly, finding Bryan Hawkins truly charming.

"Charlotte Clark has an older brother named Edward Clark, right?" Bryan Hawkins walked to Carolline Ruiz’s side and asked softly, staring at her phone. This girl, always reading novels whenever she had the chance, was she that addicted to novels?

"Yes, what’s wrong?" Carolline was quite focused while reading novels, so she didn’t hear Bryan Hawkins’s conversation with Benjamin.

"It’s nothing; the mastermind behind the anonymous photos has been found. It’s Edward Clark," Bryan Hawkins said, squinting his eyes.

"..." So, was Edward Clark trying to get revenge on his sister Charlotte?

Carolline never imagined that the Clark Family would be so unreasonable. What was Edward Clark trying to do by luring her? Could it be that he wanted to knock her out and send her to Africa to be with Charlotte?

Although this matter had some connection with Bryan Hawkins, it was a government order, and everyone was involved. Was it simply because she’d had a verbal dispute with Charlotte earlier that Edward Clark had targeted her now?

"The Clark Family is truly too boring," Carolline didn’t know how else to comment. When Megan Clifton told her about the incident where the Clarks had caused a ruckus in Henry Lawson’s office, she’d found it somewhat inconceivable.

"Don’t worry, we’ll treat them with their own medicine. I don’t plan on wasting energy dealing with such petty people," Bryan Hawkins comforted Carolline, patting her on the shoulder. "However, with my wife being so smart, I’m more at ease."

"Everyone learns through experience. Besides, we agreed to communicate well, no matter what happens. The things the other party sent were full of holes from the start," Carolline summarized.

"Were you a little sad?" Bryan Hawkins stared at her for a while before asking.

"...I was a bit shocked. If you really do like that kind of woman, your taste is heavy," Carolline stuck out her tongue and teased him on purpose.

"..." Bryan Hawkins pounced on her, tickling her. Carolline’s loud pleas for mercy were useless as the two laughed and played in the office room.

They played for quite some time until both of their phones rang, putting an end to it.

Both picked up the calls, then looked at each other with astonished faces before speaking in unison, "Jordy (Celia) was in a car accident and is now at Brighton Hospital."

Brighton Hospital was an internationally renowned private hospital founded by people from Y Country in Z Country. It specifically catered to upper-class society. Although it had only been open for two years in G City, it already had an excellent reputation.

"Then let’s go quickly." This girl, wasn’t she supposed to be on a business trip? How did she manage to get into a car accident just after returning, and with Jordy Wade, no less. It was simply too bizarre.

Carolline couldn’t afford to think too much about it, she wanted to hurry to Brighton Hospital to check on Celia Wade’s condition.

Bryan Hawkins, with an anxious face, knew Carolline was worried about Celia, and he was also concerned about Jordy’s condition. After all, Jordy had been the first to call Bryan when the accident happened. It was evident there were no next of kin by Jordy’s side.

Since both were worried, they asked Xavier Estrada to wait with the car downstairs and quickly took the elevator down.

Half an hour later, they arrived at the suburban Brighton Hospital.

Before the two could leave the emergency room, Carolline and Bryan Hawkins waited nearly an hour before Celia was out. The doctor told Carolline that the surgery was successful, and they were now waiting for the patient to wake up from anesthesia.

Since the only people Celia and Jordy had frequent contact with were each other, there were no other family members or friends to contact. As a result, Carolline and Bryan were the first to be notified.

Celia was wheeled into the ward, and Carolline went in to accompany her. Bryan Hawkins went with the medical staff to pay the surgery fees for both of them.

Although Celia was no longer in danger, seeing her wrapped in bandages made Carolline’s heart ache. She wondered what had happened during all this time.

After paying, Bryan Hawkins went to the doors of the operation room to wait for Jordy. It took almost three more hours for Jordy to come out. When he did, the situation didn’t look promising. The doctor said they would have to observe any side effects and wait for the patient to wake up. There was even a possibility that the patient wouldn’t wake up at all and advised Bryan to be prepared.

In the meantime, Xavier Estrada bought lunch for both of them, but Carolline had no appetite.
