Chapter 582: Chapter 582: Shen’s Mother Kneels Down (3)

"Hey, Carolline, what are you thinking about?" Megan Clifton, not sure what Carolline was daydreaming about, gave her a dissatisfied push. "I mean, your handsome Simon Carrington is enough, right? Or are you fantasizing about the dean dropping out of nowhere?"

Megan raised an eyebrow with a teasing expression on her face.

If not for the fact that Megan was pregnant, Carolline really wanted to splash the water from the cup in front of her. Come on, would she really think about that?

"I’m just joking with you, why are you staring so wide-eyed? Baby, don’t mind your godmother; she’s not well-behaved at all." Megan gently stroked her belly, comforting the baby inside in a tender, motherly manner.

"..." Carolline was dumbfounded; this woman’s mood changed way too quickly, and she couldn’t keep up with her pace.

Finally realizing she couldn’t handle this woman, Carolline simply decided not to say anything and got up to leave.

Megan didn’t bother to keep her; there was no point.

Carolline returned to the office room, changed into her work clothes, and began to work. After finishing the tasks inside the office, she went on a round of inspections. Having been off work for a few days, she spent more time in each department, mainly answering questions about her vacation experience.

What could she say about the experience? It was tiring but comfortable. Going on vacation meant spending money to suffer, but everyone knew it was a kind of "suffering" they liked, as they would still choose to travel whenever they had time.

By the time she returned to the office, there were only twenty minutes left before it was time to clock out. She thought about it and decided to give Daisy Willow a call.

At that moment, Daisy was at home cooking. She knew a little about what had happened in G City, but not much because her family didn’t like reading news about the Duncan Family and didn’t let her follow it either. Their reason was that since she divorced, they were no longer family.

Simon Carrington was quick to act. Initially, he said it would take a week, but in less than a week, all the cash was in place. He even introduced her to a Financial Advisor. Daisy completely trusted the one Simon introduced to her. She left three million for buying a house, and the rest of the money she asked the Financial Advisor to manage for her.

She couldn’t quite explain how she trusted Simon so much, but maybe it was similar to her unconditional trust in Carolline. Simon was introduced to her by Carolline, who had wholeheartedly helped him. For these two people, she had bared her heart.

"Yeah, that’s great. Otherwise, if you don’t understand finance, the money wouldn’t have its maximum value if kept by yourself." Carolline agreed. They didn’t have a good financial sense as women, but she was at ease since it was a recommendation from Simon.

What surprised her a bit was that she thought after the divorce case was over, her relationship with Simon would be limited to no contact. She didn’t expect them to talk so much in private and maintain such a connection.

"Yes, I think so too. I’m planning to go back to G City and buy a house worth around three million before Elena starts school." Daisy thought it would be best if the house cost within that range. Although she now had money, she really wanted to keep it all for Elena.

Cole Duncan probably agreed to pay such a large sum so willingly for the sake of his daughter.

"Alright, I’ll ask someone to help you find a house within that price range." Carolline nodded, feeling relieved to hear Daisy was doing well.

"Thank you." Daisy sincerely thanked her. After meeting Carolline, the two words she had said most to this woman were "thank you." She didn’t know what else to say.
