Both nodded, and George Edwards hurried into the elevator, while Carolline Ruiz headed towards Megan Clifton’s office. Megan was having breakfast in her office and browsing the news when she saw Carolline, immediately looking at her hand, "This is for me, right? You do have a conscience, young lady."

"Yep, here you go." Carolline said, wordlessly handing over the gift and putting it in front of Megan before heading out.

"What’s the rush? It’s rare for you to come up here, let’s chat for a bit. Don’t we have ten minutes before work starts?" Megan pointed to the chair in front of her as she sipped on nutritious porridge made by her mother-in-law, with a glass of milk on the side.

"Have you been bored these past few days?" Carolline also sat down, "Inside there are some special products and local trinkets."

"Yeah, I’ve been to Rainbow Town before. I didn’t know that was where you guys went this time." Megan nodded. She, with her big belly, also wanted to get out and about, but the elders at home wouldn’t allow it.

She only found out they had gone to Rainbow Town when she saw Carolline’s Moments post. She had been looking forward to seeing the pictures, but her excitement deflated when she realized she had been there before.

"Why didn’t you recommend that place to me before? It’s really beautiful. Even though it’s a small town, I think it’s no worse than those 4A or 5A Scenic Areas." Carolline was still reminiscing, thinking she could find time to visit again during a short vacation in the future.

"I figured that Boss Li would take you guys to play, so why choose such a small place?" Megan said sourly.

Carolline rolled her eyes and stood up to leave.

"Hey, don’t go, you don’t know how lively G City has been these five days you were gone." Megan hadn’t even shared all the gossip yet, and Carolline was leaving already. That was just inconsiderate.

She didn’t even consider how stifling it was for a pregnant woman like her to stay at home or in the office all day. If only she had known earlier that getting pregnant was going to be such a hassle, she would have stuck with her original plan to not have children. Now, her life would never be as carefree as before.

"What’s the gossip?" Carolline asked without enthusiasm. She had never been interested in gossip.

"About the Duncan Family and the dean." Megan said with a smile.

No matter how hard Dean Liu tried to clear his name, he couldn’t escape the looming scandal. By the time Carolline and the others returned yesterday, the Health Department had already issued a notice to dismiss him as dean. A new dean was said to be arriving soon.

Megan didn’t care whether the new dean was parachuted in or not. Just do her job well, and there’s nothing to fear, no matter who comes. But as for Dean Liu, she disliked him. His pretentiousness and decadent private life made her wonder how he had become their leader in the first place.

It was laughable, really.

Then there was the Duncan family. Duncan’s Family probably couldn’t recover this time, as Cole Duncan was now publicly selling his shares. The old Madam Duncan would never regain her glory. Megan was happy for Daisy Willow and her daughter Elena. Duncan’s bankruptcy wouldn’t affect the previous court ruling, so half of Duncan’s fortune was now in Daisy Willow’s hands.

This was called karma. Good deeds are rewarded; evil deeds are punished. Retribution may be delayed, but it will not be denied.

Megan was quite enthusiastic as she relayed the news. Carolline didn’t feel sorry for the Duncan Family or the dean. As for Daisy Willow, she was a soft-hearted woman to the extreme. Carolline worried that Daisy might consider returning some of the money to Cole Duncan because of their past marriage.’

Even if she didn’t return it, would the old Madam Duncan, possibly be an easy opponent? Would she go after Daisy Willow for the sake of her son in the future?
