Chapter 555: Chapter 555: Evil Begets Evil (1)
When they arrived at the apartment, they had bought so many things that Axel also helped carry two small bags, which were naturally two Family Buckets bought by his dad.
The person who came to open the door was Avery Graham. When she sprang out, Carolline Ruiz was startled.
Was this person born in the year of the dog? She always went where the fun was.
"How come you’re here?" Carolline raised her eyebrows.
"Why can’t I be here? Celia came to buy bread after work, and I came with her in advance. Sister also provided so many egg tarts for free. Aren’t you happy?" Avery pouted, then opened her arms to Axel. "Yo, my little darling Axel, come and give Aunt Avery a hug."
"Aunt Avery, I don’t have any free hands." Axel lifted the things in his hands, two big Family Buckets.
"Wow, you guys also brought so much stuff, great, we’ll have a treat tonight." Avery was a little foodie. Even though Carolline had warned her countless times that junk food was bad, everyone craved for it sometimes. So, Avery didn’t hesitate and went straight for a drumstick from Axel’s bag. "Any chili powder?"
"You should let him put it down before looking for it." Carolline walked in and saw Avery blocking the door, with Axel and Bryan Hawkins still outside so she said a little speechless.
"Oh, I’m sorry, Mr. Hawkins." Avery chuckled.
"It’s OK. There are also drinks here. Eat and drink slowly. Don’t worry, if not enough, we can call for more." Bryan Hawkins said cheerfully.
Daisy Willow and her mother were busy in the kitchen, while her father watched TV in the living room and greeted people. They soon realized that these people didn’t need any help.
Originally, Elena Duncan was with her grandfather, but when Axel came, she naturally gathered with him. The little ones loved junk food. Together with Avery Graham and Celia Wade, the two adults and two kids ate happily, sitting around the coffee table, even pouring drinks into paper cups and openly toasting.
Carolline looked around and didn’t see Kent Auclair, which made her feel a little relieved.
It was strange that Kent Auclair and Jane Auclair had the same last name, both being Auclair, which she didn’t like. Of course, Carolline knew that those two people with the last name Auclair probably just coincidentally shared the same surname, and were not likely to be relatives at all.
After all, they looked completely different.
"Kent didn’t come. He has a company party tonight." If there wasn’t a party, she wouldn’t have followed Celia to their house. She just didn’t want to be questioned by her mother every time she didn’t go out with Kent about whether or not they had a fight.
She was really dizzy; even if they didn’t fight, they didn’t need to be together every night, but no matter what she said, her mother just wouldn’t listen, and even said that it was not easy to meet a man who truly cared for her and that she should seize the opportunity while she could.
After hearing her mother’s words, Avery felt like she was a hot potato that no one wanted.
Now that she finally got ahold of a fool like Kent Auclair, it seemed like she had to do whatever it took to win him over.
"So that’s how it is. It seems that your relationship is quite stable." Carolline nodded. Since Avery was stubborn, no matter how much she said, it wouldn’t be useful. She could only hope that she misjudged, and Kent Auclair wasn’t the second Cole Duncan.
Of course, even if Kent Auclair was like Cole Duncan, he wouldn’t be able to be as unrestrained as Cole, nor have an open mistress, but he might still have secrets behind the scenes.
