Chapter 543: Chapter 543: Success in Lawsuit (5)

Indeed it was a feast, and she ate heartily. She used to lead a luxurious life, but it felt like that was a lifetime ago after she had lived frugally for so long.

"Maybe, we could go somewhere else to hang?" Celia Wade suggested as they got into the car.

Everyone looked at her. There were children on both sides, and Mr. and Mrs. Willow were old. How could they go out like her? She really shouldn’t speak without thinking.

Feeling the gaze of everyone, Celia Wade quieted down, "Fine, let’s just go home and sleep.

Bryan Hawkins and Carolline Ruiz got into their car, and Axel was sitting in the back with them. They found a designated driver.

Daisy Willow called for two cars. Mr. and Mrs. Willow took one with Elena Duncan. She and Celia Wade took the other.

Daisy Willow is an observant person. She noticed that something was off with Celia Wade when she arrived. She held off asking throughout dinner because she didn’t want to mention it in front of everyone. "Celia, do you have something on your mind? If you think I can handle it, why don’t you tell me? Even if I can’t help you, it’s still better than keeping it bottled up."

"It’s nothing you’d understand." Celia Wade shook her head. She wasn’t rejecting Daisy Willow’s concern, but those things, well, she had hidden them in her heart for so many years, and she intended to continue doing so.

In reality, it wasn’t much. Her superior just confessed his love for her, again, the night before. He’d been pursuing her for half a year, ardently and persistently.

She could tell he was serious, but her heart only had room for one person, and it couldn’t fit anyone else. But as for that one person, she really didn’t know how much longer she could wait.

So, when she got up this morning, she lost her restraint and sent him a text, saying she would give him another week. If he still didn’t reply, she would try to love someone else.

She had come to terms with it. Her mother was gone, her father didn’t forgive her, and in this world, the only person she had left was him. It had been three years. If he still didn’t give her a deadline, she planned to give up.

She wasn’t Carolline Ruiz, nor did she have an obedient son like Axel. So she couldn’t wait for five years like Carolline Ruiz did.

However, the person who used to promptly reply to her texts did not respond to her all day.

Her mood, of course, wasn’t good. From the moment they parted until now, he had been the one taking the initiative while she avoided him. Later, neither of them took the initiative. And this morning, for the first time since their split, her initiative had been ignored.

She felt bad. Very bad.

However, she had given him a week, right? So there were six more days, right?

Daisy Willow sighed, reached over, and held Celia Wade’s hand, silently comforting her.

"You’re planning to buy a house, right?" Celia Wade asked suddenly. With so much money, she should invest in property. Nowadays, real estate investment seems to be the most stable.

"All that money is for Elena Duncan. I still want to find a job." Daisy Willow explained her plan. If she was to stay in G City, she would need a job to support herself.

She had experience working in hotels before, so finding a job in that field should be fairly easy. However, the working hours might make it difficult for her to look after Elena well.

When she got home, she needed to discuss this with her parents. If they were willing, she could indeed buy a house and have her parents live with her. During the times when she couldn’t take care of Elena, they could help out.
