Chapter 542: Chapter 542: Success in Lawsuit (4)
"Don’t worry, Miss Wu." Daisy Willow sneered, knowing Jane Auclair’s thoughts well.
"Starting tomorrow, I’ll be Mrs. Shen, Miss Willow." Jane Auclair replied coldly, as she would be going to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get her marriage certificate with Cole Duncan the next day.
"I’m afraid it’ll be at least two days later, as tomorrow is Saturday." Daisy Willow kindly reminded her, then stopped exchanging words with her, "Lawyer Carrington, thank you. Let’s go, I’ll treat you and your wife to dinner."
"Alright." Simon Carrington didn’t refuse.
Carolline Ruiz and Bryan Hawkins also joined, and at Elena Duncan’s strong request, Bryan Hawkins specifically picked up Axel to come along.
At the hotel, Simon Carrington’s wife came straight down from their room. This was also Carolline Ruiz’s first time meeting Simon Carrington’s wife.
Simon Carrington’s wife was named Fiona Adams, who used to be a dancer before marriage. She was quite famous in Kyoto, but in G City, not as many people knew her. Fiona Adams gave the impression of being a very knowledgeable and virtuous wife and mother.
Carolline Ruiz also thought that Simon Carrington’s taste was exceptionally good.
However, perhaps she was just too sensitive, she couldn’t help but feel that these two seemingly well-matched spouses had little interaction, and Fiona Adams hadn’t even given Simon Carrington an extra glance since he introduced her.
Of course, she couldn’t keep staring at Fiona Adams either, as there was a silent Axel sitting beside her. Ever since Axel found out Elena Duncan’s parents were getting a divorce, he had been feeling sad for Elena Duncan.
Carolline Ruiz had tried talking to him about it, thinking that Elena Duncan didn’t seem to care as much as he did. But Axel told her that Elena Duncan had secretly cried several times, which truly touched Carolline Ruiz. It turned out that Elena Duncan was still upset about it.
For a moment, she didn’t know how to console her son, let alone Elena Duncan. Time, as the best medicine, will eventually help them understand as they grow older.
Shortly after the dinner started, Daisy Willow stood up and offered a toast to everyone in the room, "I want to thank Lawyer Carrington, Carolline Ruiz, and everyone present. Without you, there would be no rebirth for Daisy Willow. Thank you. Since I’m not good at speaking, let me toast my glass first."
Daisy Willow drank the wine in her hand. Daisy Willow’s mother and father also stood up and toasted them one by one. Simon Carrington drank two glasses of wine and said, "I need to get up early tomorrow morning, so I’ll stop drinking after these two glasses."
"Are you leaving so soon?" Carolline Ruiz asked as she looked at him. She and Bryan Hawkins had also wanted to invite the Carringtons to dinner, but they didn’t want to compete with Daisy Willow for the bill tonight.
After all, as a multimillionaire rich woman, Daisy Willow had way more money than she did.
"Yes, there’s still some business to take care of at home." Simon Carrington replied.
"Well then, when you come to G City again, my husband and I will invite you and Mrs. Carrington again." Carolline Ruiz raised her glass to the Carrington couple.
Fiona Adams, who had been focusing on her meal, reluctantly raised her glass when she saw Carolline Ruiz’s gesture, drank it all without a word.
Throughout the night, Fiona Adams didn’t say much besides her initial greetings. Carolline Ruiz was somewhat puzzled but didn’t dare to probe, as it’s up to the couple to decide how they interact with each other.
Anyway, the evening was a happy one, as Daisy Willow had finally managed to escape her misery. Carolline Ruiz believed that Elena Duncan would understand in the future.
The dinner didn’t last long, ending in about an hour because Simon Carrington and Fiona Adams had to leave the next day, so they needed to return to their room early to rest.
After that, everyone dispersed. Celia Wade didn’t say anything all evening. She hadn’t eaten much at noon because she was waiting for Daisy Willow’s feast at night, so she starved herself while waiting for this dinner.
