Chapter 513: Chapter 513: Chaos in the Courtroom (8)

How did things change so quickly? It’s not just about the property, but even half of the family’s estate - how can this be?

If there’s only half of the Duncan Family estate left, what face would she have left to stay with Cole Duncan?

"Order!" The judge banged the gavel.

However, Cole’s mother was an uneducated woman. She was furious to the core, never expecting Daisy Willow to have the audacity to go this far.

"I cannot stay silent, your honor! That Daisy Willow is an utterly immoral woman! There, just look at him! He’s the man having an affair with her..." Cole’s mother wailed at the judge, accusing Simon Carrington and Daisy Willow with tears and sobs. At that moment, Simon shielded Daisy behind him, as Cole’s mother continued to hurl objects at them.

She had thrown almost everything in front of her. This time, Simon really saw it all. He’d never encountered a woman so outrageous in his life.

How did gentle and elegant Daisy Willow end up with such a mother-in-law?

Upon hearing the accusations from Cole’s mother, Daisy’s parents in the audience shook with rage. When Simon had told them earlier that Daisy was seeking half of the Duncan Family estate, they did not entirely agree; but now, seeing the furious woman at work, they believed Daisy was justified in asking for half the estate.

This woman was too vicious. Her son had done wrong, but she turned to attack their daughter instead. They couldn’t imagine how Daisy had suffered all these years under this evil woman’s hand.

Most importantly, according to Elena Duncan, Cole’s mother didn’t love her at all because she despised that Elena was a girl. This infuriated Daisy’s father to no end. In this day and age, even rural families want a girl, and some can’t even have one. Cole’s mother had lived in the city for so long, and yet her preference for sons over daughters persists, which made him furious.

Before coming here, Celia Wade had warned them; they were only here to observe, and whatever happened, they couldn’t cause a commotion in the courtroom, or else the consequences would be severe.

So, even as they fumed over Daisy’s situation, they endured it and stayed in their seats.

Seeing Cole’s mother behave like this, had her son and their accompanying lawyer not reminded her beforehand?

Well, they had. But for a woman like Cole’s mother, she was fearless when it came to throwing a tantrum. So as far as she was concerned, Daisy Willow making an outrageous legal demand simply meant Daisy had to have the guts to face the consequences.

"Bailiff." The judge could no longer tolerate Cole’s mother’s wailing and complaints, and called on the bailiff to control the situation.

In all her years as a judge, this was the first time she had encountered such a brazenly disrespectful woman.

Cole’s mother was taken out of the courtroom, resisting as she still had things to say and accounts to settle with Daisy Willow. But this was a courtroom, not the Duncan Family home. The bailiff merely escorted her out without detaining her, showing leniency out of respect for her age.

With Cole’s mother’s racket gone, the trial continued.

Cole Duncan remained silent throughout not refuting anything Simon and Daisy Willow said. In any case, during this period, preparing materials and evidence were all done by his mother, Jane Auclair, and his accompanying lawyer.

Their lawyer hadn’t anticipated the other party to ask for the property, so they weren’t fully prepared for it. Instead, they were insistent on the first issue: the custody of Elena Duncan.
